This. There’s a lot more that the OP needs like the computer, the sensors, the wiring to make it work. But as just a statement piece to say I have what survives of a very rare system, run it. But what it does is tell time and what fluids you are running low on. And checks your brake pads which I’ll have to figure out how to get mine to work without the original sensors. Chunk is going to get one.

Cruise Control issue
eaglescout526 replied to Whitaker717's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yeah I experienced this yesterday driving on the 101. It’s normal for it to lose speed. It will catch up. -
Where was this hidden? Yes I’ll get to either this evening or this weekend.

Stock Front Bumper Ends??
eaglescout526 replied to AverageJoe10's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Someone might chime in and agree but those kinda look like the archer brothers bumper end caps but like the chopped off the bottom portion for a more clean look. Or theyre later XJ but they don't look very later XJ to me. -
87 COMANCHE 2.5L Tbi replacement
eaglescout526 replied to Kikapoo's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Fuel pressure at the throttle body is 15psi max. So he will be fine with a GM one. I'm assuming the PO is going GM probably because they have a line on some cheap ones or aftermarket is cheaper for GM -

LQK MJ in Florida

Call the yard and see if they will ship it. I had mine shipped from a yard and it probably cost me $75 which is honestly worth it when it comes to parts like the bumper. -

Yeah 84 is the best example of finding non standard stuff until 85/6. Had I known what unique pieces I was getting into, I would’ve opted for say 85 or an 86 over 84 but this one has also been a fun challenge. Now if I wasn’t a stickler for original, I would’ve slapped in some regular new interior parts and called it a day. -

What’s bad is I kinda knew I had it as my parents had the same unit just Rheem make VS my Ruud unit which is the same exact company just probably one is a cheaper build than the other. But I am very thankful for my scavenger self to have pulled the assembly from my parents unit. -

Makes me wish I was good with electronics to do my own work on this stuff like the early style tachs and cruise control modules. -

All the upper pieces are in. Those A-pillars scare the hell out of me. They are so fragile and much different than the later years that I had to be very very delicate with installing them. Sadly the pass side is still cracking where ever it feels like but finding these pillars are getting more and more challenging. But I am particularly proud of this: Chunk here doesnt have the mounts for the oh $h!T handle and so I improvised. I had a spare panel I was using to test SEM grays on long ago and its the same plastic as the A-pillars(whats bad is I think its a two door rear upper panel piece, oops) and I cut a couple little rectangles and made myself some handle delete plugs so it doesnt look like I have an ugly set of holes in the panel to where something should go but can't put there at all. I like them, not the most flush and best fitting but they work and look factory. -

Wow, been a bit but absolutely nothing eventful up until this month. One roommate moved out. Room us now a guest bedroom/lego room for me. Pretty happy with that actually. AC blower motor took a dump yesterday after having the breaker for the AC off all winter. Kicked it on the other day, ran fine up until I got home yesterday and found the intake to be ice cold. Uh oh. Got on the roof and heard the blower motor doing that infamous seized motor sound. Now go back a page or two and youll find a blower assembly in my garage as a blower....same exact one for my AC but in better shape! Threw that assembly in and I am back in business for the AC. I am gonna try to see if I can revive the motor to have a blower again, but I am not holding my breath. But the motor was pretty damn dusty and needs probably a good cleaning. -

No.12 on the parts diagram that’s for your bracket says it’s 45mm long. There’s 5 left if you want me to order two of them. J4007585 -

That would be something to ask the tech section. That being said 84-86 clusters are direct drop in for you minus changing out the temp and oil senders for the sensors. 87-90 will need to have the whole speedo cable swapped and senders swapped to sensors as previously stated. -

Lol agreed. Chrome for the XJ is easier to find than MJ so this one will be waggy like with all the chrome I can fine. Minus doing the door handles and window trims. I just realized. We got a chrome tailgate handle for the MJ. But I don’t recall the XJ ever getting one. -

Rear window swap done. I’ll admit this one was tough and not having long enough string to do the install made it a challenge that I overcame with a bunch of flat heads lol.
