I found more information on Autometer, apparently they assemble in US but get components from all over. Which is fine for me.

It would be interesting to see how they're detecting how much to assist. It not only cannot push but it needs to maintain drag. Without drag you lose control of the trailer. I do like the battery regen idea. My 600W solar barely can keep our fridge running during travels. I know most people leave their propane on but I've also seen some fireballs on the side of the freeway. That sounds terrible, what will I do on rest days after a long hike if not watch people pull into their spot 20 times.

Awesome congrats! It looks great. Just so you know I switched my theme to Neve Jan 3rd, before I knew your site existed. Lol

Well I don't know what's weirder that they would make their clock smaller than standard (and their other gauges) or that their customer service would double down on wrong information? I got this message this morning. .
-
I messaged them and got a reply saying their gauges are 2 1/16" /W bezel and hole size is 1 15/16. I like their product but if I make a gauge panel that's not the standard 2 1/16 it will create complications. I'm hoping the person replying was wrong. the email came back from "accounting". Autometer has analog clocks in 2 1/16.

I have a clock panel with 1 gauge hole and 2 switches on my todo list. Should be a week out.

Well that's a bummer :/

Not a very exciting update I'm still waiting on my walker exhaust I ordered late November. So I haven't done much. Also waiting on a rear window. I replaced the coolant hose that I noticed was leaking when my steering fell off. It had a bit of a slice going up it from the end. The new gates one is nice with the wire loom stuff for the many rubby bits.

I've been hunting for a clock but haven't had any luck finding one not made in China. I'd settle for a different country, just not one that openly says it wants to capture and control our entire supply chain. Just looking for a small simple clock that clicks into place.

I run costco interstates, infact I've ditched AGM. I've had several optimas and others. Nothing beats Costco's replacement warranty and if you take care of them they're solid. Make sure you don't have parasitic draw while the truck is off. Deep discharges shorten battery life of all batteries. The deeper the worse its effect. Some say don't go below 50% but really even at 80% you're shortening life, Just MUCH less.

I just discovered Edgewood NM, I think the east is loosing. Low crime, Cheap houses, everything is nearby. Also rocks , 6 hours to Moab. Lots of offroad trails around it.
-
Is it a year round thing? I experienced that a bit up in Washington. Still fun but not as much. Thanks, I looked at Southington. Looks like a lot of mud with a little rock. I think I need to give NM a good hard look. The houses are just so nice in Ohio. Also everyone I fought in Iraq with lives in the east so that would be nice.

I'm from the west, was in northern AZ but now I am staying in a CA craphole since I met my fiancee there. We're looking for a place to go. The problem is housing is insane in places we've looked. Right now we're between northern NM and Ohio. I love rocks, I've heard of a few places back east but not much.

That's what I'd do before adjusting anything. A carb sitting with for a few years can get sticky from fuel varnishing.

Tie Rod End and Draglink Replacement
m2bandit replied to 500 MJ's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Rod ends are the biggest cost with a steering upgrade. Might as well do 1 ton instead of replacing with stock. -
And if you don't have an Apple product? The only good thing I can say for Apple is they never marketed it as a GPS device like the others used to and some still do. Apple should Serialize these and link them to accounts. That way if you find a tag police can find the person. Also I'm not usually a fan of creating a new law but when it comes to tracking people... this should definitely be illegal.

haha ok, Thanks. That cord does have a lot of character / fire hazards though.
-
My dad has had this saw at least since the 80's I've seen it all through my childhood. In fact I've seen the cord slowly shrink down to the 3 foot size it is now. I didn't want to see it get tossed so I want to refresh it. It seems to run fine but screams like a banshee when the trigger is released. It's a model 7308 type 2. Anyway I know nothing about saws, and I realize it isn't worth the bearings I would put into it. But for nostalgia's sake what should I do to it?

I must have wrote a response to this and not submitted it It definitely has a bit of pressure pulling it down. Hopefully I can make is better with a bit of wiggling of the console. Either way the AW4 is inevitable, I'm just going to keep it stick as long as I can get away with. Part of me missed having a stick but another part of me enjoyed having a free hand.

That's weird maybe quality of staff just depends on the owner. That would drive me nuts to have to give them make and model. Especially for my Cherokee that has more parts from other makes than Jeep. I love the Chief look with that roll bar. I have a set of stock foglights I want to refurbish and stick up there. I've been toying with the idea of installing electric everything. I have electric doors for it in the back of my ram right now, but there are so many other things to do to improve quality of life first. I would love all black interior but the gray is probably my next choice.

I got the new bushings on the wiper linkage. Lithium greased what I could get to and used spray silicone grease for what I couldn't. As far as getting the linkage back in aside from a lot of wiggling I remember this. 1. I rotated the motor shaft/lingage first to make the linkage as narrow as possible. 2. To get it in first slide it deep towards the passenger side until you can drop the motor in. then slide it far drivers to rotate it then back to where it should be for the final bit of rotation pushing the wiper gears through their holes. As far as improvement with the 97+ motor, I really don't think so. It's still a bit slow. I did refresh my ground too. I used new 97+ Arms, They have a substantial arc to them. They only applied pressure to the outer 8 inches or so. It took some "tuning" to get them to apply even pressure throughout the blade. After gently taking some of the bend out a couple times I was able to get it to wipe evenly. I think that will be the last bit until the exhaust I ordered 3 weeks ago finally shows up.

I don't really blame the kids. I have a rule, Never go to oreilly without a part number. If I need someone to look up a part or some wisdom I go to Napa. Not sure how much differently they pay the staff. Oreilly seems to have new people every 6 months and Napa has the same old dude from when I was in high school.

This is the way. It can be done with small screwdrivers on each side, there is however a tool to make it easier. Shove the green one of these down in there on each side of the terminal https://amzn.to/3DMFrhh I recommend replacing the connectors while you're at it because they're likely brittle by now. I wonder if the previous owner stripped it and glued it in. It definitely shouldn't have been strong enough to snap a screw.
-
Sadly they're all super brittle by now. Too bad there's no cure aside from a dash mat.
