Is there one that makes a 7' slide in?? I have found 6' slide ins, for Toys, and Rangers/S-10's. The guy at the local camper place, said they don't make one anymore. I found a 6 3/4' model for my short bed extended cab F-250, but its too wide to fit in an MJ. Ohh, BTW, anyone that is interested in one of those 'adventure' campers. We went and looked at them. The wife thought it would match the Cherokee nicely. They are WAY OVERPRICED. It was almost 10k for a camper as nicely equipped as our 17' Starcraft.

Don't let MJ Jeff hear you say that. He has both.

Umm, I think that the vacuum disco was gone by 91. Are you sure that its not in 4wd? The light is operated by a switch on the side of the T-case. If your sure, then I would check the T-case linkage and make sure its tight.

Come on Pete, your still pretty far behind Eagle. And don't even look at me, I have 5 vehicles at my house, all 4x4. And three more in my storage lot.

horsepower and torque specs for 2.8L v6?
whowey replied to GirsMJ86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Depending on the year of the S-10, you probably have the 'later' version of the 2.8l. GM dumped the earlier version onto AMC, and used the later one in its own vehicles. The later version solves alot of the longetivity issues with the motor. The craptastic carb though is really the culprit for the problems with power. -
It seems like this rumor surfaces ever few months. I have seen the specific language in State Farm Policies. If SF knows what you have done, then you are covered. My agent has seen my Jeeps. I helped one of the agents, lift his GC. My own agent just had his Ridgeline lifted..

Rusty's sells their 'long' AAL. I haven't used one on an MJ, but on a Cherokee their 'long' is full length. Its about 1/2 short of where the spring eyes start to wrap on the main leaf, and about 1/4 longer on each end of the next spring in the stock pack. BTW, Lawn Cher at NAXJA had a used 3" Comanche lift for 200 bucks. If momma would let me near the family budget this time of year, I would be all over it. Lawn Cher(Mark) is a stand-up guy, I don't think he has made it over here yet. But he is on the Yahoo list.

Yep, those damn state employees.... ya know how they are don't ya??? Sorry, Jeff couldn't resist. I don't know about the Communistwealth of Va, but here is a contractor or a governmental employee damages your vehicle they will cover it. I had to pay a couple of claims on dump trucks chucking rocks, several years ago. It sounds like they have had the salt laying around and it got water into it. It will clump up, and those clumps get as hard as rocks. Sounds like the driver had no idea what he/she was doing though. You barely have to open the gate, and turn the spreader on very slow to adequately cover a road, especially a two lane road.

Sure, DCX calls it the Commander...

I would go with the used tires, except that they are 14"s. I dislike adding any more rubber sidewall exposure when off-roading. I highly doubt that a 33" Bogger is going to place any significant increse of stress on the D-44 compared to the LTBs.
-
Depending on how they are stored that doesn't happen. If you support their weight on more than one point, or suspend them with a rod of some type in the middle.

I built a rack in the attic of my garage for tires. Just a simple V made of 2x4's and I do the same as you. I pick up good ones, when I am already out. It certainly helps that all five of our vehicles are on the same size tires.

Congrats man! The both appear to be keepers. When you find a woman who, not only appreciates the depravity of the hobby, but encourages it you got to keep her.

wiring problems!! wont start, no power
whowey replied to 88swampedmj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You have two MJ's listed in your sig, which one are you referring to? I would check the C101 connector. Its the big one up on the firewall near the brake booster and MC. Pull it loose and make sure all the pins are clean and straight. Lots of funky electrical gremlins can happen because of that bad boy. Then start going through and tightening all the chassis grounds. -
Get a copy of the Electrical Trouble shooting book from the FSM set. Absolutely invaluable when chasing shorts. I agree with Pete though. The FSM's are written with a dealer tech in mind. A chilton book helps fill in some of the basic stuff.

Hmmm, that MJ looks a whole lot like one on Rusty's off-road website... Right down to the flare.

I'm a second owner. The PO stood out in the street, waved and shed a tear as I drove her away. -
Or try Picturetrail.com Webshots is an open hole to about a billion popups. Anyone ever think of asking Brett?

Guess I'm dumber than you guys. I bought the one in my sig, for $500 off of the MADXJ yahoo group. Drove 150 miles, bought it and drove it home. Its not the first time I have done things like that. I have had to call for a tow 60 miles from home before. I forgot to add congrats on the MJ. Welcome to the asylum. -
I'm going to ask a question that seems completely obvious to my old butt. Why go to the trouble of installing a 1000 dollar stereo system in what is a 200 dollar 'throw-away' car? Now, I am the guy who spent an entire winter trying to figure out how to attach a snow plow to the front of my Dodge Omni. So I remember being young and dumb.

If you figure most XJ lifts w/ AAL's are about $400+ range and the same kit with complete packs are about $900 + the price aint that bad. . I didn't pay $195 for my long aal with shocks for my 2" inch XJ lift. $195 a pack for 2" is pretty damn pricey.
