That's perfect! Glad you have calipers, that should make it much more accurate. How do you have the ethernet cable run in the console? I'll want to allow room for the cable to run into the console itself. It'll probably take me a week or two to get a prototype together. I will have to make a replica of the REM first so I've got a blank to work from on the insert.
-
Send me the exact dimensions of the REM and some pictures of all sides of it. I have that console in my XJ so I can get the measurements for that. I can throw together something to drop in and hold it in place.

From my experience, I've only come across 4drs with power windows and only manual windows on the couple 2drs I've seen/owned. I have noticed in the past though that it was way easier to find a 4dr manual regulator for sale than a 2dr manual regulator.

How does even physics....? I'm going to guess someone staged this picture. The axle looks strait across so I'm guessing its still sitting on all 4s. Your quote was pretty funny

It's not possible yet to 3d print clear materials. Opaque at best but definitely nothing close to usable as taillights. I do have the knowledge and experience to setup and run injection molding machines tho so if anyone has the money for a mold and a press we would be in business!

Yeah it should cure just fine being thick. I've seen a few people make small engine heads and piston rods entirely out of JB weld to test it. They were pretty thick and completely cured all the way through overnight.

That would be a very long print time but would be awesome!

It's not a simple plug and play, there is assembly and definitely some stuff to learn to get started with the printer itself. There is also ongoing maintenance stuff you absolutely have to keep up with to avoid failed prints and printer damage. Yes you can download a file from thingiverse, open it in a slicer software to setup the print, save to the SD card, then run it in the printer. You will need to figure out how to run the slicer software of your choice and research or gain experience over time what settings will do and how it affects different materials but a good chunk of the models on thingiverse have recommended slicer settings. You'll have to learn a 3D modeling software if you want to create your own models. For the most part it's fairly easy to get started if you have basic understanding of computers and can effectively do research and learn things on your own, there are plenty of tutorials online to help.

Holy crap that's an awesome website! Quite pricy for a model especially since it's only allowed to be used for personal or educational use. It looks like they offer formats that would be easily converted to .gcode and I'm assuming their models are fairly well built judging by how many they have.

That's actually on my list. I printed an XJ from a model I found online but it was a terribly built model. I have way I may be able to 3D scan the entire truck, just need it to stop raining long enough to get one out and try it.

I finally decided it was time to buy myself a 3D printer. I picked up an Ender 3 Pro and have quite enjoyed it so far. The most involved thing I have printed so far is a 1:200 scale Saturn V rocket. It stands at just shy of 22" tall, I attached a picture below. I will eventually have a 1:200 scale space shuttle and maybe a Falcon 9 to go with it. I have also made some things for around the house such as a sink drain grate and some shelf brackets. I figured I'd post to see what you all may think would be useful to develop and start replicating for our trucks. Currently I only have PLA which is limited to operating under 140*F but I could get into other materials for better heat resistance or other characteristics as well. I will also say I will absolutely not be replicating anything anyone else already prints. I am looking for smaller parts that we can't source for our trucks that could be printed so we have a source. I'm willing to do other custom printing as well if someone owns/creates a printable 3D model in a format such as .stl and would like it printed.

Clutch ideas needed - won’t shift

Bleed it and see if that makes a difference. May need a new throwout bearing. -
Keep in mind this isn't the production model, it's just a concept vehicle. That being said, it's about what I expected it to look like. The thing to keep in mind is that the original Wagoneer was a luxury suv, this wagoneer is also a luxury suv but you get a lot more today than you did back then in the "luxury" name. I think they nailed it as far as being a 4wd luxury suv, but it definitely blends with the masses thanks to the terrible styling Fiat has brought to the brand. The third row window looks like it was taken straight from the Renegade and it's very ugly on this vehicle. The front isn't terrible but they definitely could have retained more styling cues from the original. The rear looks like a Land Rover, they really should have kept the vertical taillight style like the original and done more with the back end.

Yeah if they are vista era they aren't going to sell unless someone desperately needs computing power. Even original XP machines are hard to offload unless someone wants an XP license for certain software. Upgraded to windows 10 means nothing as the hardware isn't meant to run such new software. They will struggle to keep up if they can at all. As for Office 2013, as suggested its only recoverable in certain circumstances. In all honesty it's not worth the time as there are free options such as OpenOffice that can work with Office files and has features that rival or surpass those of Office 13. Best bet is either give them to someone you know or donate. Could post them on eBay if you really want to make some money on them. Otherwise Best Buy will also take them to recycle at the customer service desk free of charge.

I came across this article this morning. Anyone recognize the MJ in the article? https://www.autoweek.com/car-life/classic-cars/a33862184/street-spotted-jeep-comanche/

Toxic off road and performance
Dzimm replied to toxicoffroad's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Are you just doing the powerplant or a full 97+ swap? Can you post more info on the truck you are swapping that into? Year, engine, trans? Also are they both 4wd? -
Such a nice clean truck! Great job, hope you enjoy it as much as we like to drool over it!
-
Correct. There is some fab work and lots of trial and error required to mount the new strike but yes they swap right over otherwise.

It causes a lot of weakness in the rear end by cutting out the punch seam. I've heard of rear windows popping out because of it and seen a few XJs that were very much not straight after they were flexed out with the pinch seam cut. Imagine being rear ended with the inner and outer fenders just flopping around like that. There really isn't much holding these tubs together, after doing a lot of rust repair on an XJ, it's amazing how little structure there really is in them.

That was the worst part. We had absolutely zero warning, just boom out of nowhere trees coming down and sirens start blaring. I was able to give my parents about an hour warning since they a couple hours east of us but word didn't spread hardly at all. The vast majority of people were completely blindsided. I'm surprised it still hasn't really made national news at all. There are literally people living in tents and their destroyed homes in cedar rapids.
