  1. We got a football game on Saturday, sure you don't want to wait. :laughin:
  2. I believe the manual ECU has a more aggressive spark advance curve, then the auto. Since you can wind up a manual trans.

    Prayers needed

Kneemail sent to the man upstairs.
  4. I don't know, but could, would or should a short to ground (STG) on the ICM Tach output signal or a faulty Tach, cause this type of problem? 2¢ worth.
  5. Eagle ------- Self-appointed President for Life of the International MJ Preservation Society What's a couple of hundred miles? :)
  6. 89base great post on O2 sensors. Good read. Thanks cruiser54 for posting that heater ground location. Sorry about the blunt (vague) post on O2 sensors voltage. Needed to add the word Zirconium. Hope I didn't mislead anyone.
  7. Not sure what you mean by ...ground point from the ECU as a heater ground. Anyways, O2 sensors generate voltage. I don't believe voltage is supplied by the ECU O2 sensor input signal.
  8. Truthfully, job requires a Harness Surgeon, along with a Dash/Cluster Master. But go for it, just make sure you disconnect the battery first.
  9. No, IP_S refers to IP harness_Splice, while IP_S_E refers to IP harness_Splice_E with a circle around it.
  10. The letters shown in the harness with the circles around them, is the location of the splice. Splices are buried within the wiring looms. Repairs require opening the wire loom.
  11. INSTRUMENT PANEL HARNESS HEATER/AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS 2.5L/4.0L Should be page 91.
  12. ...tan wire... BRN (brown) wire from Ign Sw (A). If your Wiper/Washers work, your good from the Ign Sw (A) to the IP_S_E. A splice is used when wires of the same circuit come together (No connector). They're tied together, soldered and taped. Look at IP Harness Location in that download you got. Page 91 show location of IP_S_E.
  13. Now I get all mixed up, unless things are real simple. Does the radio work with the radio fuse in and doesn't work with the radio fuse out or it just doesn't work at all, with or without the fuse? If the radio just don't work at all, you need to grab that test light and make sure the following fuses are Hot (12vdc): 1. Blower fuse 2. Turn B/U fuse 3. Radio fuse These fuses are tied back to IP_Splice_E. (mj1988electicmanual pg 8) I can't post photos, yet. Maybe someone can help here. IP_S_E is a five (5) wire splice containing the following: 1. Blower fuse, Turn B/U fuse & Radio fuse. 2. Horn Relay 3. Wiper/Washer circuit 4. Not Used 5. Ign Sw (A) All three (3) of your symptoms deal with this splice. I can only hope your fuses are Hot.
  14. test
  15. If you remove the radio's 15A fuse from the fuse panel, does the radio still work? Also does the cigar lighter work with or without the fuse?
  16. Is vehicle equipped with a factory radio, and does it work?
  17. Do you own a 12vdc Test Light?
  18. Resistor under the hood, could be FP. (fuel pump)
  19. Your second photo of the TB, doesn't that show the upper right missing the nipple. Can't tell if a plug is in there or not.
  20. Doesn't Renix have "clear flood"? That is, when holding the throttle to the floor (WOT), the injectors shut off during crank, in order to clear any flooding that might have accrued in the manifold.
  21. What I was referring to is the 88 Comanche Electrical Troubleshooting Manual (Wiring Diagrams TCM Pg22/23). Truth Table shows A-G as 3, while schematic shows A-G as D. I hate when they do that.
  22. Instead of using the grounding of the NSS (P/N) to control the coil side of the relay, which would cause the LED's to flicker when the gear selector is moved from Park to Drive or Reverse to Drive and visa versa, control the coil side of the relay using the (D)rive circuit (TCM) on the NSS and just ground the coil side of relay. I believe the connector is at the rear of the rocker cover. Supply the relay with a RUN circuit to the LED's. Should only come on in Drive. Down fall is when the key is ON and the engine is OFF, placing the gear selector in Drive will activate the LED's, also no manual override. Applies to AUTO's only.
  23. Secret is in the ignition switch. Ign Sw should have one or two circuits labeled G1 and G2. One of those is connected to the instrument panel (certain bulbs only) and grounded at the Ign Sw when key is turned to START. This is called bulb check. Circuit is NOT covered within the wiring diagrams. I hate it when they do that.
  24. Looking at the wiring diagrams for MJ and XJ, both have the same Turn Signal switch. Should be the same on both vehicles. Yes NSS is for back up lamps only.
  25. Turn signals lights (L or R) and brake lights (L and R) are basically the same circuit. If you hookup L/R turn signals, you'll get brake lights. Brake lights use the same filament as does the turn signals. Circuit is either a brake circuit or turn signal circuit.
