Take the linkage apart and clean it. When putting it back together, check the alignment of the rods into the bushings.

Find your self a XJ. They're identical and any local JY should have one. Cheaper than shipping. O r if you really can't find one, $30 plus shipping.

Well Damn. Gee whiz. Haven't had anybody express this much concern for me since the wife died. Thank you everybody. Appreciate it. And i will try to be more careful.

Another thing that should be mentioned. When trying to bust a rusted nut or bolt loose, try going the other way with it. Turn it clock wise. Won't take much, just feel it break loose. Once you break it loose soak the threads with PB Blaster and keep rocking the nut. For some reason the rust breaks easier when turned on instead of off.

Drank a half a can of Sea Foam. poured the rest in the gas tank. Nor sure which one of us ran the better.

Not sure if there was a standard or not as I've found both when removing the exhaust. What I do is clean the threads real good with a wire brush. Soak it good with rust blaster, Let set for awhile. Then try using a regular wrench, generally a rachet with a long extension. If it doesn't come loose then use a impact wrench. Have the wrench set at it lowest setting. To where it just barely rattles. The steady hammering will break the rust and the nut loose.

Actually there is. But this is a family forum so let's not go there. :brows:

LOL..That was my first thought when I first saw it. Just checking to see if any body has any info or opinions on it. it's a 60 mile trip one way just to look so trying to find out whether it's worth it or not.

Made a deal with them. They don't bite me, I won't bite them.

Perkins Diesel Engine, 369 CI. He was running it in a Ford P/U. Still got the 4 spd tran attached. Would this be any good for a MJ swap? Or is it too heavy? Haven't looked at it yet. Just got the pic the guy sent me. If it's to heavy for a MJ I may just get it anyway. See if it will fit in a J20.

or I'm just getting unlucky (careless) in my old age. Some of you may remember a couple months back when I posted a pic of my left black eye i got while working on a Jeep. Yesterday while dropping a 42RE from a '97WJ so I can do a AW4 swap on it. Had the tran out about 4 inches and was ready to drop it. Something got hung up. Just as I reached around to feel what was going on, the whole thing dropped. Fortunately I was able to get my head in the way in time to cushion the trans hitting the ground so didn't break anything. Anybody need a '97 ZJ for their conversion? I'm getting to old for this shet!

Check the immediate area good and make sure there isn't a little jagged or rough piece of metal it was rubbing against.

After reading this half a dozen times I'm just wondering if perhaps the guy isn't having a little fun pulling our legs. 'Tongue in check' humor. Something I would pull.

Looks like it might have the shift indicator that Babyblack86 is looking for.

Axle Swap Issues 92 In A 99
jimoshel replied to 87sparTruck's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My '91 has one... The issue you'll face is taking part of a rather rare '92 Comanche to put in a common old XJ... Just kidding. go for it. I have a '91 XJ, also has the vacuum disconnect. -
Or as my Chem teacher was fond of saying "To each his own, said the old women as she kissed her cow."
-
Done properly, it won't hurt a thing. It's a good thing to know. Never know when you might need it.
-
I think I'll go get it. Park it right in the middle of the rest of my Comanches. Make them realize how lucky they are.

Reread the ad. Misunderstood it the first time. I've got some. Have to check and see what kind of condition they're in. Took me a month to figure out how to post a pic. Now that I've learned the trick, bet a couple of the guys wish I wouldn't be so bountiful. I'm still using a Nikon 35 mm and develop the film in my own dark room. Scan the pics and load them into the puter. It's a lot easier with the newer electronic cameras. Just connect the camera and puter and they load automatically. After they're in the puter you need a pic hosting site like photo bucket or ????? darn, can't think of any of the others. They have very explicit instructions on how to use their product. Also been covered many times here. Try search. My biggest problem was after selecting the pics I would forget to click 'open'. Would then go to photo bucket and no pics.

I can listen to anything as long as it's not some idiot seeing how loud he can scream incomprehensible lyrics into a mike. Favorites tho are Hank Williams Sr, Johnny Cash, Andre Segovia and Chet Atkins. Any of the old western, country. blue grass. If I had a hammer I'd smash my thumb I'd cuss and swear And say boy that was dumb.
