The Waggy grill going on the '91, I take it? If I didn't have an Eliminator, I would have done the Waggy grille, I like how it looks! Jerry -

Yep, I used your injectors as well. Interesting, when I got the cast iron t-stat housing off of a '91 XJ, it looked to have the same orange/yellow injectors you gave me. Would I assume those were the same injectors, or does color on the injector matter?. Also, I think I know what I'll be doing with my exhaust for now. I'm following CWLONGSHOT's lead (his pics) with dumping the exhaust in front of the rear tire, like so: Image Not Found Image Not Found This seems to be the only decent looking way of doing what I want. It'll be interesting to see how well it sounds. Jerry -
Well, thought I would post my stupidity, just in case someone was wondering what happened. To make a long story short, I forgot to reconnect the vacuum line from the throttle body to the charcoal canister. It connects on the side of the TB facing the head, and I didn't see it until I was moving my hand around, feeling for vacuum. My finger got sucked into the hole, and the leak stopped. That was one of a few bonehead things I did/didn't do that day. I shouldn't even worked on it that day, LOL!! Thanks for the help, guys!! Jerry

Ok, great news, got the "new" head bolted up and running. The throttle response is ridiculous, you hit the gas, and the RPM's are up quick!! Just have a few issues to take care of, the t-stat housing has eroded bad on the radiator hose side to the point that it's not sealing, and need to tighten the bolts more on the intake/exhaust manifold bolts to stop them from leaking. Can't wait to actually drive it!! Jerry -
I have the torque specs, 49 ft/lbs, I believe, but, how in the heck can you get a torque wrench to the bolts and get a reliable torque reading? It's all I can do just to get a ratchet on the bottom bolts, much less a torque wrench!! Thanks for any and all techniques in doing this, as I can't seem to get them tight enough with just a ratchet to stop them from leaking. Jerry

Not Another One!!?? '88 Eliminator

Been a while since I updated, sorry! Well, last week, the 4.0 broke a valve spring. Got up with Lee (Outlaw Star), and took some needed pieces off his parts XJ, including the whole head (only had 6K miles on it), almost new radiator, rear add-a-leafs for 3" (gain 2" on MJ), and the Mustang injectors. Thanks goes to Lee for this, really will help in getting the Eliminator back on the road quick!! Jerry -
Let's put this damn thing together, man!!!! Jerry

Another Plug Identification

Manual or auto? If a manual, it could be for a sensor for an auto that there's nothing for it to plug into. Jerry -
Help with light ID on dash
JeepsOLot replied to Scalped's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It's an Upshift arrow. I assume you have a manual transmission. This is telling you to upshift at the point it comes on for best fuel economy, I believe. For me, it wants me to shift too early. If it bothers you, just take the bulb out, no harm will come with doing that. Jerry -
Thanks, guys, tomorrow, I'll check that fuse. The radio is the original 1988 Jeep radio, and none of the wires look to hacked. I got the back light on the clock to work, but, the display doesn't work. As far as the radio, the 5 amp fuse on the back of it was blown. I replaced it, and still nothing. That is as far as I've got so far. Thanks again for the ideas! Jerry
