Not Another One!!?? '88 Eliminator
JeepsOLot replied to JeepsOLot's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Well, I thought I had the clutch working. I put the driveshaft in, and the clutch won't release. It's either the clutch slave isn't bled enough ( I tried to do with just me), or the clutch disk is rusted to the flywheel. Hopefully, will know this afternoon. Jerry -
No Radio, Clock or Dome Light Power

Will check the dash ground tomorrow, thanks for the ideas! Jerry -
That's about right, really thin gauge metal. Probably would cause more damage then not if hit. Jerry

Nice Comanche! I feel your pain about that internal slave, replaced mine today. You did a nice job on the interior, great job!! Jerry

Not Another One!!?? '88 Eliminator
JeepsOLot replied to JeepsOLot's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Ok, got two major things accomplished this weekend. Got the engine running: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=n16eYwrpEPw And got the internal clutch slave replaced and working. I just have to bolt a few more things in, bolt up the cross member, replace the rear u-joint, and bolt up the driveshaft, then, I can do a test drive! Jerry -

Well, someone posted in my thread about the bumper, and mine isn't like an OEM bumper, mine has the uneven tubes at the license plate bracket, the OEM bumper has even length tubes. My bumper has rust issues, was wondering if it was an OEM bumper, I would try and restore it. Jerry -
Dude, it has some holes in the tubes on the pass side, LOL, and it's rusted pretty good. Jerry

No Radio, Clock or Dome Light Power
JeepsOLot replied to JeepsOLot's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have gauges, gauge lights, lights for the HVAC, and the blower motor, but, no clock (has the dash clock), radio, or power to the fog light switch. I don't have power at the radio or dome fuses. Hope this helps, thanks! Jerry -
Going to do the bed too, Lee? Jerry

No power to the fog light switch either, forgot about that. Jerry -
I have no power at the fuse panel for these, anyone know if they are related? Thanks Jerry
-
Ok, good, this one isn't really in that good of shape anyway. Thanks! Jerry

Image Not Found Thought I posted this earlier, but, can't see it. Anyway, this is my '88 Eliminator, and I know this isn't an original Eliminator bumper, but, I was told this tube bumper could have been an OEM product. If it is, I'll go to the trouble of restoring it, if not, I'm going to replace it with a receiver bumper. Thanks! Jerry

I know the fog lights are factory, but the tube bumper? I was considering getting rid of it because I didn't think it was factory. If it is, I'll restore it. How can you tell? Jerry -

It's alive!! Had some technical difficulties with the fuel pump (didn't tighten the hose clamp on the fuel pump itself, D'Oh!). The good thing that came out of these was we know that all of the sensors and engine electronics were tested and replaced when necessary. Next things needed are new tires, and new clutch slave. I saw a Cherokee with bulging fenders on the front, like a Baja truck, that looked bad a$$!!! Jerry

Not Another One!!?? '88 Eliminator
JeepsOLot replied to JeepsOLot's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Well, thanks to both Outlaw Star and Cruiser, we've narrowed the not running issue to a bad fuel/sludge in the fuel lines and tank. Going to be dropping the tank this week to clean it out. At some point this week or weekend, I'll be pulling the tranny to replace the clutch slave. In prepping for all of this, I had a friend help me in getting the Eliminator under the carport and on concrete to do these things Image Not Found Now, to have some fun!! Jerry -
Have any picks on the firewall work? My friend abs I are looking into putting his '97 TJ 4.0 and tranny in my '86 to sell. Any help would be great! Jerry

Ok, I think I found the no start issue: Image Not Found Image Not Found This is one next to one I cleaned: Image Not Found I have 4 of the 6 cleaned, before I had to stop, picking up where I left off tomorrow. Hopefully, I can get the clutch slave swapped out as well. Jerry -
What's odd about that eBay auction, SJBrooks, is, it only has Mopar injected Jeeps, 91 and above, listed. I was under the impression that these could be used in Renix injected Jeeps as well. Jerry

D44-D35 Swap, Springs Too?
JeepsOLot replied to JeepsOLot's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well, I'm going to have to put something back under the '86, as my friend and I will be putting his TJ 4.0, electronics, and auto tranny in it to sell later. I'm trying to get the things that are in better shape and upgraded from it and put on the Eliminator before we sell it. Jerry -
D44-D35 Swap, Springs Too?
JeepsOLot replied to JeepsOLot's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well, one reason is the mileage, the '86 has 78k miles, and the '88 has 181k. I was looking at dealing for that reason. Jerry -
Swapping the D44 from my '86 Long Bed (not MT) into my '88 Eliminator, would there be any advantage to swap the springs as well? Not even sure the Long Bed springs would even work in a Short Bed, but, thought I would ask. Thanks!! Jerry
