  1. Ok, I only got one can, so, it's not a big lose. Thanks! Jerry
  2. Is this something that AMC did, or a PO? I wire brushed what I could. It was getting ready to rain, so, I just sprayed the exposed metal with rust converter, and will chip that stuff out when it stops raining this week. Jerry
  3. Anyone tried this before? Image Not Found I just tried it with my pass side floor board, hope it works. Jerry
  4. Not sure if this is fiberglass or something AMC tried for sealing purposes. Should I chip this stuff out? Image Not Found Image Not Found Jerry
  5. Well, I got these XJ seats because they were from a 2dr, they were in great shape, and they were tan, which was what I was looking for. I really want to use these seats, I'll look at them and the brackets I have, and try something tonight. Go ahead and share about the GC seats here, if you want, seems there is interest. Jerry
  6. According to the emissions tag on the firewall, it's a 1994 2 dr XJ. I'll figure something out. Jerry
  7. I read that whole thread, but, that was for the '84-'93 XJ seats, the bolt holes on the '94-'96 seats are wider by 6" then the MJ brackets, so these instructions don't address the different widths. That is what I need info and guidance on. Thanks! Jerry
  8. I have searched until my eyes bled! I'm trying to find out exactly how to mount these '94 2dr XJ seats into my '86 MJ. I have both seats and brackets from the XJ and have the brackets from the MJ bench. This is what I do know, the mounting holes on the '94-'96 XJ seats/sliders are spaced about 6" more apart then the MJ bracket holes, and the adjuster bar that goes between the XJ sliders goes below the level of the bottom of the sliders. I was originally going to use a flat plate, but, with the adjuster issue, that won't work. I'm thinking of using bar stock steel to adapted them, but, not sure how to go about it. Any help with this would be appreciated! Jerry
  9. Got the seats where I want them, just need to figure out how to mount the '94 XJ seats on the '86 MJ brackets, looks like some bar stock is in order. Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Hopefully, I'll have time today to get that figured out. Jerry
  10. Thanks! Still not sure about engines, but, I will be using an AX15 tranny and 242 t-case if I decide to go 4WD. Jerry
  11. Got the console installed over the vinyl floor: Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Working on the seats tomorrow, oh, what fun!! Jerry
  12. My next door neighbor said that he had a built Javalin 390 that he said would fit nicely in there, LOL! I want something somewhat econamical, and doing that 390 just won't work for me! I'm kind of the same school as you guys, I would like to keep it AMC/Jeep. I just need more clarification on what would need to be cut at the radiator to make the 4.0 radiator to work. That is my biggest issue, need to know the direction I need to take with this. I'm not a welder, but, I do have people that can weld, so, that is still an option. Jerry
  13. I just got my tan 2dr XJ seats and matching console today. My '86 has the brown interior, the tan making it a two tone interior should look good. I got one of those cup holders from the junkyard for my '93 XJ, I like it, would like to get one for the MJ as well, and forward of that, I could put bigger cups/mugs there. Jerry
  14. Got my goodies today, thanks, Pete! Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found The tan matches perfect with the paint!! Jerry
  15. Got this from Pete M today, thanks, the tan really does match the truck well!! Image Not Found Image Not Found Jerry
  16. Looking at possibly TBI, usually, they are more self contained. Jerry
  17. I'm starting to rethink my engine choice. With the radiator area being a problem and the firewall possibly being another problem, I'm thinking of going with either a 4.3 V6 or a 350. All I need to do with this truck is commuting to and from work, a very little off roading, and some hauling capabilities. Which would you guys think would be a better choice? Jerry
  18. Here is a little be better pic of the firewall at the tranny tunnel. Image Not Found Looks like there's a raised area just to the driver's side where the firewall and tunnel meet. Jerry
  19. Thanks for the info, learned alot! Might have to do more thinking about this. Jerry
  20. I really can't see a difference in the firewall between my '93 XJ and the '86 MJ. Where exactly is the difference? I'm more curious then anything. Jerry
  21. This is what's on my MJ: Image Not Found Two hood pins. I have the handle, but, all of the other cables have been pulled out. Jerry
  22. Year, Make, Model. 1986 Jeep Comanche Base(?) Long Bed 2WD Image, Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Engine / Trans / Transfercase / Front axle / Rear axle / Wheelbase Original: 2.8L V6/ TF 904 Auto/ 2WD/ D44/ Long Bed Build date: The sticker is totally wiped out, have no clue. Current Location: Stuart, FL Status: Cleaning up, and getting the drivetrain together, bought Jeep without motor or trans. Notes: Had a column shift. I'm thinking this is a late '86, as the firewall has the indentation for the 4.0, and it has the D44 instead of the AMC 20 or D35. Has a drop-in bedliner, bench seat, brown interior, base gauge cluster with idiot lights. It will be getting a 4.0, AX15, and possibly a 242 with D30. Current owner: Me, Jerry Murphy
  23. Nice '91!! I'm from SE VA, I can feel your pain with state inspections, LOL!! Moved to FL, don't have to worry about them!! Jerry
