Beautimus !! Wonder if... since column is offset from factory that the bezel is also? Nah, no way Jeep would of thought of that.

I would think this 91 Hunter Green Pioneer is rare in many ways. 91-92 HO 6 Original paint & decals - flawless Column shift tan interior 4x4 16K miles. Buddy put different wheels, spray in liner & toolbox.

Jeep employee from 1965 to 1999 that I got lots of nos parts from told me that the decal installers was worst job at the factory. No doubt even the most experienced factory installer didn’t get them on as good as we all know you will. Probably the degree of difficulty installing the complex Chief decals is why don’t see many. Get calendar print framed, dealerships rectangle prints without fitment holes always had silver aluminum frame.

Mesh grill turned out fantastic (as expected) I've got mesh on LJ and seems to catch most bugs before they get smashed into A/C condensor. What's THIS about Chief Decals ???? I'm used to CJ and the best ones have decal packages & nothing XJ / MJ beats a Comanche Chief !

Survivor it appears from limited pics. Get it a rear bumper and new Jeep emblem.

99 Xj Grille Guard on 88 Mj?
Red Mistress replied to Bonkers's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I like the wider style and no headlight surrounds that the 97+ Warn Transformer on older XJ platform. -
Axles multiplying in shop and Detroit true tracks and gear swap stuff everywhere so time get busy setting up gears. I’ve only got 115V welder so buddy pro welder stacked dimes. For C braces, he heated up cast to 350 degrees then stitch welded, making sure lazer temp gun never went over 450. Also cut tower off and installed Metalcloak bracket and bushing race. I’ve got lots of smoothing welds before back to sandblast and then POR15 with matte black top coat. Also installed axle tie down tabs on D44. Due to brake lines on top of axle a strap around tube have chance squishing hard brake line. Left room for sway bar brackets if I need after lifting. Daughters Black Beauty 01 XJ 2 door photobombing.

Project “Tomahawk”

Kudos on keeping factory head unit. BT & RCA outs I would assume. if you haven’t seen @Gjeep subs he installed directly behind seats they are slick. Wouldn’t have give up console storage. Have you seen floor cutting for subs. I’ve seen bassheads weld in 3 sided metal boxes 📦 with sealed MDF plywood inserted. Where you going mount amp? -

Good info on GBE V band clamps. forget which 5 inch stainless I put of Ford 7.3. they are stainless billet weld on ends. never had a leak. had TIG weld with Argon purge. -
Gotta get a Scosche USB, great fit ! Hard take good pictures of black interior but know it’s top. good pic of subs & fitment behind bucket seats, they look great and don’t take up space.

Going 3.5" and perfectly level stance. Either 31 or 32 BFG KM3's. Got Alcan metric ton leaf spring under which I understand is 3.5 to 4". Metalcloak adjustable track bar and control arms and Metalcloak dual rate coils. I have 3.5" dual rate coils from daughters XJ (it wasn't level with ARB rear springs with leaf removed) but will probably have buy 4.5 when add winch & brush guard. I'm a HUGE fan of Metalcoak & their bushings so going use their weld in kit for front axle bushings. NOS 28mm front sway bar. TJ rear sway bar. Raised sway bar mounts so the Currie Correct Link steering will fit. Really like Currie's exaggerated bend at pitman arm as it compensates for lift and don't have ream the knucle's taper for won-ton steering Still undecided on shocks, but definitely NOT Fox, they are too stiff. Bilstein look terrible quickly, although could clear coat them. Got Falcon piggyback shocks for LJ (look incredible) but haven't installed them due to robbing axle & brake parts for MJ. https://teraflex.com/tj-falcon-series-3-0-piggyback-shock-kit-3-4-lift.html Been eyeing Metalcloaks Rocksport shocks as they are valved for TJ weight and are Red :) https://metalcloak.com/rocksport-long-travel-shock-tj-wrangler-front-pair.html Also have new takeoff JK shocks but think mount is different.

Can't go wrong with either, both look real nice. However IMO nice OEM trumps anything, especially a BLACK with power windows, super rare to find.

Looking good all cleaned up

Nice looking Red MJ ! I would keep the patina and lift it. Definitely keep white wheels. Like mentioned above, everyone has aluminum and they don’t look age appropriate.

Anyone tried plastic nuts ?
