  2. My latest obsession is with Matisyahu. He's a reggae Jewish rapper and he's pretty good in my opinion. If you listen to antic his songs I recommend listening to "king without a crown" best song of his hands down. I also listen to some incubus and radiohead Josh

  4. unfortunatly i won't be there to pick up the car. it will need to be towed on a full trailer but my dad will be picking it up as i have to be at work. He was an ironworker by trade so he has all the good straps and chains but it never hurts to bring a few extras. thanks for all your help i printed out a copy of this topic so i can use it as a refernce when i actually start working on it. i will snap some pictures of the motor when i get it to my shop. it does not have the plastic valve cover on it and it has an aftermarket distributer. Josh
  5. i went a few times last year and i wasnt too happy. my ZJ that i took is no mosnter machine like most of them that are there and alot of the guys were giving me some flak cause i wasnt beating the living hell out of it then when it got stuck in small mud no one would pull me out. Josh
  6. i did join the eagles nest under the same name boardmanMJ but I'm not as active on there as i am on here. i still don't know much about the car, but as i can tell, you do. i am picking the car up saturday. if the red with black paintjob means that the car is pretty rare, i might just repaint it the factory colors. i don't really plan on changing the wheels. yes the interior is black but its in pieces. the cowling had a very bad leak on the inside so the PO took the entire dash apart along with some other interor pieces and a few exterior pieces. according to him everything is all there its just in a bunch of boxes. here are some more pictures of it: Josh
  7. me too! its currently 50 degrees and sunny here in northeastern ohio. Josh
  8. if your looking for an agressive tire the interco TSL swampers are going to be the best bang in my opinion. i would stay with the interco brand, but away from the thornbirds or even the M16s if you are going for serious mud (neither the thornbird nor the m16 clean out very well) if your looking for something that still handles mud well but is still streetable i would look into the truxus m/t. Josh
  9. i have a cherokee that I'm DD for now but its just not the same feeling! I'm seriously considering selling the XJ and buying a running MJ. Josh
  10. sorry I'm flooding CC with so many posts, i got out of my class early today and ill be sitting in the study lab for over 3 hours until my next class. anyway, here is my newest project i picked up: its a 1983 AMC eagle sx/4 and she set the newsest record for the cheapest project ive ever bought ($325) its the sport model of the sx/4 so its has the black interior with the 4.2l and its stick. for being in the rust belt of the country she hardly has any rust (they came from the factory with ziebart undercoating) but the front fender will need replaced and I'm sure when i pull up the carpet i will need to patch a few holes but other than that she is as solid as a rock. my plans for it are to lift it a tad bit (cherokee front one inch spacer will lift the IFS approximetly 3inches and cherokee AAL will lift the back to match) while running some 30inch super swamper allterrain tires and repainting it either desert flat military tan or lime green and black (havent decided yet, opinions are welcome!) and building a possible 4.7l stroker. Josh
  11. Does anyone else feel this way? i still have 2 of them but both of them are in pieces and i miss driving them!!!! Its been over two years since ive driven either one of them and i think I'm going through some serious withdrawls. and spending most of my day on CC isnt making my obsession with comanches any better. just alittle rant from your pal, boardmanMJ. Josh
  12. id really like to meet all of you soon but the problem for me is that both of my MJs are in pieces. if we go wheeling i have a ZJ to take, if its just a meet and greet for lunch persay then i have a cherokee that i could drive but neither MJ will be done anytime soon..... Josh
  13. if your worried that your stock shaft will be too short you can always go to a v8 ZJ front shaft. same ujoints but about 3 inches longer. just gotta watch and make sure that you find a ZJ with the ujoint driveshaft instead of cv joint. Josh
  14. i have a problem with my DD cherokee and i really don't know how to fix it. I bought it lifted already from a dealer who had absolutly no idea what he was saying/doing so I'm alittle lost. When i had to buy shocks for it from 4wd hardware they measured the shocks and determinded that they were for a 3inch lift. now i can clearly see the coil spring spacer pucks upfront and there is no way that they are 3inches. in the back i have no idea what they did. my problem is the front end of the jeep sits significantly lower than the back of the truck and id like to make it level. awile ago i went to chance the coils upfront to the v8 ZJ coils to hopefully lift it up alittle bit but when i took my orginal coils out they are alot bigger than the ZJ coils, so I'm at a loss. how would i be able to level my cherokee out? Josh
  15. What I like to do is get a half sheet of pizza from my favorite pizza place and eat it sparingly throughout the week. I like to mix it up and order different toppings on my pizza too. I like it cold so sometimes I put ranch dressing or BBQ sauce on it too. Josh
  16. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to make it this weekend due to work. We should all plan something soon though I'd really like to meet all of you! Josh
  17. Id be up for it, granted that i finish it up before June. id even be up for making a road trip out of it from the east side of ohio! Josh
  18. I feel like ive been left out, i went on kind of a hiatus for a year and a half but I'm back. Since Ive been back on here i ended up selling my 88 longbed so I'm only down to 2 comanches. I will be on here and my other forums more activly now because i finally decided to go back to college (again, after a 3 year school hiatus) and i have a VERY long break inbetween my classes. I just recently found out at JeepSkool is no more, it was truely a great place to wheel. As for yankee lake, I'm not much of a fan. its too congested for my liking. my wheeling situation is this; right now I have a ZJ that i trailride with but that will go up for sale here sometime soon so i might not be able to make the wheeling trip in a comanche. one MJ is in the process of a bed off restoration and the other is sitting with no motor. i can take my DD cherokee if we do have a meet and greet wheeling session but i try not to beat that one too hard anymore. Oh yea i almost forgot! I'm from boardman but my shop is in struthers, both of which are suburbs of youngstown. Over in Brookfield... 1800 State Route 7 NE Brookfield, OH 44403 Rob i believe i spoke to you at 4wd hardware in columbiana, i was the young punk that was talking to you about the 1990 eliminator that i might have for sale...turns out I'm going to keep it and turn it into a trail rig trailer queen and sell of my ZJ instead. Hope to meet you all soon! Josh
  19. its always nice to see a stock MJ rolling around, especially one with minimal rust is fantastic. I say restore it! Josh
  20. happy birthday buddy! i love the cake! Josh
  21. I'm orginally from boardman, but my comanches and other projects live at my shop in struthers so I'm sure ill be seeing you around. As for yankee, I'm not much for it, its too congested for my liking.
  22. There is one episode of family guy when stewie is hitch hiking down the road at the end of the episode and a black Comanche drove by.
  23. I was thinking more along the lines of the 4.3 vortech but you were reading my mind. Too bad it's too far away from me...
  24. Mine was at 210,xxx then my old man decided to plug the breather valve on top of the valve cover cause it was blowing oil out of it...
  25. where exactly are you located? my old man would kill me if i picked up another MJ (or just another project in general without getting rid of one) but i might be interested in the motor. i have some sweet plans go to with that ole 2.8l comanche
