  1. I'll have my "QQ" plates next year. I'm taking it through its last inspection ever this month, hopefully it passes. With all the new and refurbished stuff on it, my Jeep is getting younger by the day.
  2. I ordered new engine and trans mounts with the stainless header. The three mounts cost me less than $30, no reason to leave 24 year old stuff on it. I might put a 12in flex pipe in the downpipe and kill the downpipe "dent" while I'm in there. If only I actually knew how to weld...
  3. I didn't like the look of that as much as the 3-2-1 manifold I ordered. If they put the flex after the collector, I'd believe in it more. I don't see how a flex for the #1 and 6 cylinder ports is going to help anything, 2-5 are still hard mounted.
  4. My Jeep needs to pass inspection for the last time ever in NJ this month. Good thing. It has a colossal exhaust leak and runs super rich because of it, so I figured it's time to address that. New header and downpipe are on the way but the way I figure, the manifold probably cracks on the 4.0 because they're 1) not very good or 2) stressed too much by the rest of the exhaust moving. There's no flexpipe to eat up the motion of the engine vs the rest of the exhaust. I figured I'd ask if anyone has put a flexpipe in the downpipe with good results, I searched here and NAXJA, didn't find much.
  5. Hornbrod is your Jeep lifted? I need to do this mod. Edit: ok I saw in a different thread you're lifted 3in. Mine is 3 as well. Really appreciate this thread. [emoji106]
  6. That's a fine looking machine. I dig the monochrome paint scheme.
  7. I have Centric rotors on my daily driver VW. They were about $10 each. I'm satisfied at that price, they've been on there over a year with no warping or noise.
  8. Rocky Road has a bolt on SOA kit that comes with an extended proportioning valve rod, if you call them I'm sure they'll sell you the stick.
  9. The rad hose is aftermarket. I haven't worked on many Cherokees, didn't think anything of it. Edit: I just looked at photos on Rock Auto, looks like that's a non-AC rad hose. I'll get it out of there. Thanks Pete.
  10. Thanks for the photos. My Jeep looks like it was built with AC to me but the option code isn't on my build sheet. The firewall is punched for the AC from the factory, the wiring harness looks factory, etc. It just doesn't work and the fan is missing. My Alldata subscription lapsed and I don't have a factory manual, so I need to remedy that.
  11. My Jeep doesn't have AC on the build sheet. The AC doesn't work. It does have an AC heater control in the cab, which seems broken to me. The AC compressor clutch looks like a factory wiring install to me. I don't see an electric fan though. That doesn't seem right. I found a green and black 2-wire plug under my air box that I'm hoping goes to the missing fan. Is that correct? Let me know please.
  12. I've been hoping to make it out to Warnock. I'll try my best to be there in August.
  13. Let's do it.
  14. Most vehicles with start/stop tech are not hybrids and do not have any fancy tranny gizmos as described above. Some have a belt driven starter/alternator assembly (Chevy does this) and some just have the regular old parts you're used to (pretty much everybody else does this.)
  15. What do you want for them? Mine rotted half way through and bent where the 2nd leaf noise pad sits, though I couldn't see that on the truck and it looked fine until I took it apart and cleaned it.
  16. I need a main leaf. Not looking for a whole spring pack, I'm rebuilding my leaves and one of my mains is not good. I live in New Jersey and I would like to get this done quickly.
  17. I'd like to note that my 31s on stock rims (six spoke steel) rubbed the frame in the back on both sides when flexed or even just over bumps. Haven't seen anybody talk about that. The one non-stock rim I had on there was worse, rubbed more in the back.
  18. That doesn't sound factory.
  19. I haven't posted an update in a while. I recently got new wheels and tires, refinished those wheels, and de-chromed my badges. But this weekend's project is a little more extensive: all new suspension. My Jeep came with 4.5in lift coils and no other lift components installed. It was a little unpleasant. I decided to get rid of almost everything and start fresh. The only thing I kept were the leaf springs; they're not broken and I'm not ready to bob the bed yet but when I do, I'll replace them. In the front, Upcountry coils and Energy Suspension spacers should net me about 2.5in over stock height up front. Daystar TJ bump stops will keep it in line. WJ lower arms and XJ upper arms with new upper bushings on the axle will keep the front planted with a new track bar. Extended sway bar links will prevent rubbing. The old ones rubbed on my coils all the time. Monroe extended shocks should smooth out the bumps. Out back, the leaf springs get augmented with a Superlift add-a-leaf, 7in adjustable shackles and Daystar poly bushings. Monroe coil-overs should make it nicer to actually use the bed. New stock bump stops and parking brake cables for safety. My Jeep didn't have any when I got it. Extended brake lines all around and that's everything.
  20. Last XJ hitch I put on used two bolts per side straight up from the bottom.
  21. The BFG 31s that came on my Jeep on stock steel wheels measure 29in. They rubbed like crazy.
  22. I think he's referring the the size of the pulley as it relates to the speed that it drives the pulley/pump........larger the pulley the slower the pump will run.Yeah. I know the XJ ps pulley is common for a cheap under drive on LS motors. Last pulley I bought was a stock Chevy after my old ps pump shaft sheared off. New pulley cost me $11. I didn't want to deal with an under drive, I had a new stock belt and I over paid for that so I might as well get my money's worth.
  23. No problem Stroker. I can't read the sticker on the spare rim, and there were some mean looking spiders in there. Good luck finding a clean one. Mine looks like it has been driven on, the tread is worn in the center. My truck has option TBBA for the spare, so if that's what yours has, likely that's the tire you're looking for.
  24. My truck has option code TBBA full size spare tire, I'm confident that's the factory tire. My tire winch is not functional, that tire was held up only by the accessory tire brace.
