  1. This winter I have been up to SIA 4 times to plow snow. I was hoping that with some of the snow fall we had I would see your MJ. Chances were slim seeing as how 2 of my visits were during shutdown. Hope you are liking it up there and this Indiana weather
  2. 10-4. Was not sure if being on a lift in the air mattered or not. Doesnt sound like it does. Thanks all!
  3. Bleeding the rear brakes on my 92 Comanche. Had a line blow and had it replaced. Can you bleed the brakes when the truck is on a two post lift? I still have the proportioning valve and I did not know if the valve completely extended would create a problem while bleeding the rear brakes. Any info is appreciated
  4. I will grab one today if I possible. Thanks for the help fellers!
  5. Checked the Ecu last night. Everything looked to be good. Got a code 12 because I had left the battery unplugged. Got a draw from the aftermarket stereo installed by the previous owner, I think. Also got a 54. Related to the distributor sensor? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I will look into that. The auto shutdown relay read good on the tester. :dunno:
  7. Title says it. The jeep was running just fine and the next day I went to start it, it would crank but not fire. I have checked the cps and it reads good. Ended up replacing it with a new one from Napa because I still did not have spark. This did not fix the problem. I then pulled the ignition coil. It looked like it could have been on its way out so I replaced it with a new one from Napa. This did not fix the problem. Discovered I do not have power to the coil. All fuses and relays are good and have not found a bad wire. Thinking of making a jumper wire if possible to see if we can get it running. At this point my brother and I are stumped. Any one have an idea of what can be done next?
  8. Looks like the hood ornament is a door knob...
  9. Very interested to see the blue one if a picture exists. My restoration build (whenever it gets started) is to take a 93 Country XJ I have and mate it with my 88 MJ and give my MJ a "Country" theme and HO swap. This maroon one is what I have had in mind aside from the color....and all of the chrome. Great looking truck!
  10. A little beat up around the wheel well, but     http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-1986-1987-1988-1989-1990-1991-1992-Jeep-Comanche-pickup-NOS-bed-side-5659-/122397708463?hash=item1c7f78d0af:g:-K4AAOSwuxFYx~K6&vxp=mtr

  14. I appreciate all of the input so far! When the shop frees up and we get some things taken care of inside I plan on pulling the 96 back in to pull the box.
  15. I was also curious if the '96 wiring would be a problem. I can't imagine it being different, but as you said, its obd2 and could be. If I take the time to do this, I am buying all new components. It won't save me money if I just have to come back and replace it later.
  16. Hey guys! I have been considering adding AC to my 92 MJ. My '96 parts XJ had AC. I plan on using the heater box in it to swap out my current heater box in my '92. I know this has been done before, but I cannot find a writeup anywhere for the Comanches. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks
  17. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018O9NXDY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is the one I went with. The box that surrounds the filter will need a little tweaking to make it work. For 150$ and half the cost of a k&n you can't go wrong IMO. When its time to clean the filter that comes with it I am going to get a dry filter.
  18. Like i said, it has not altered anything, but wondered how it could have happened. I bought the truck 3 years ago. can't remember what filter was on it when I bought it, but i only use Napa Gold 1085 filters. This screwdriver trick would make sense. I could not figure out what could have caused this to an area that really doesnt see any abuse. I was puzzled is all and thought someone may have a theory. Anyway, everything is back together and hopefully no more leaky adapter.
  19. Hello all, Now that harvest is in the books I have finally had some time to tinker with the '92. It was in need of an oil change so I thought it would be a good time to replace the O-rings in the oil filter adapter as well. I had bought rings awhile back but never got around to the job. The rings I ordered were for late model XJ. Plan to run to Napa here shortly and get the correct rings from them. My concern here is the adapter.... This is the end where the filter connects. Can anyone guess why this end is boogered? Does not affect anything that I know of.
  20. I guess I am asking what keeps the headliner tight to the roof of the truck? And is the grey plastic piece removable?
  21. Its gamble, but I am willing to take it....at the moment. I will not be doing this mod myself. A professional will definitely be handling it. I have seen the pictures of yours Don, but until now I have not seen the inside work. Very clean. Does the rubber gasket come down and meet the headliner so you cannot see the roof through the cutout of the headliner?
  22. Hey guys, I have tossed around the idea of adding a sun roof to one of my MJ's, but I would like to see what you did, or perhaps a previous owner did, to the interior. Did you trim out the headliner with something or leave it and find a way to get it snug agains the roof? I do not know when this will ever happen for me, but I have yet to see the interior of someones MJ or XJ at that. Thanks!
  23. Doesn't sound like it anymore :laughin:
  24. Between the 3 leading truck company's, Dodge (Ram), Ford, and GM, Dodge is the only one still offering a 6 speed manual behind the Cummins diesel. GM tossed their manual a little while ago. I cannot tell you what year exactly that they discontinued the option. I wish I were in a position to afford a new truck and order it to my specifications and own it forever.
  25. I put mine on yesterday and it fit just like the old one. Very happy to get rid of that flange. I had a hunch it would work since there was only a year difference between the two vehicles. Definitely something I will remember. Hopefully getting my muffler back on this afternoon then relaxing
