  1. I did Monstaliner. Pressure wash it to get any mud or what not off, make sure to do thick coats. If its hot where you live wait until winter to do it
  2. Rubicon Tested!!!! One of the toughest trails in the USA.
  3. I have a stock oil pan you can have if you decide you want to replace it. I'm about 2.5 hours south of you, so if you ever come towards the bay area you can hit me up
  4. Not illegal here in California either... i know that is a surprise right!
  5. Part number ATP Y-924 Its $18 on amazon. My speedo bounces at lower speeds but steadies out after i think about 20 mph. My concern is to my understanding an auto MJ without cruise control needs a much much longer cable, that one lists as 12"...although I just read reviews on Amazon for it and a couple guys said it worked on their non cruise..I think I may give it a try! O rly.... The Y-924 one worked for me it was i think 36" the Y-802 one was something like 14" i grabbed it because it matched corresponding part number i found, but the length wasnt right. I read up on the Y-924 one and dec

  7. Except the marks are straight and he was "unable" to straighten the wheel. Not to mention if i lost steering capability in a turn id do something like idk hit the brakes. In a turn you're not going that fast, or shouldnt be so you should be able to stop before hitting something that looks to be 50 ft away.
  8. In the 2nd picture you can see the tire marks leading right up to the cable...
  9. Its not like you can't make a custom brace though.
  10. It has been done on a short bed before. I have talked with this guy about it because this is something i was planning to do. He did this with a full 97 swap was about the only real information he could give me.
  11. I recommend ruff stuff if you are going to start with swing aways and such. They should have just about everything you would ever need anyways. I'm not sure what all came with just the spindle you used, but there's starts at $80. http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=STIRES&Store_Code=ruffstuff Thats what i used on mine, they are basically the only company i go to for fab parts.
  12. Kinda sounds like a bad ground to be honest. Check your ground and fuse just in case. I upgraded to harness and have no issues but mine are completely different
  13. So the tubes aren't smaller? Yes/no/you don't know. Same with the goofs whose opinions are cited in that article: they may or may not know the XJ/MJ is differentThe XJ/MJ dana 44 tubes are larger by about 3/10 of an inch...does that answer your question? Larger than what? Not a standard D44 rear that is for sure. that list has been discredited on Pirate and elsewhere. Again, it is just Crappa's opinion. And again again he doesn't even know enough to differentiate the two versions of the 8.25. Maybe you need to go back and reread your posts as well as mine... Larger than the 35, which has be

  15. Guy sounds a bit bias....they rate 14 & 15...the points he makes about the 44 axle size he missess in the 8.8 description...the 8.8 has a larger ring gear and is about 20% thicker in the pinion and axle shafts as well bigger tubes....But I must admit...I still have an ad out searching for a 44.. :dunno:Probably is biased the 8.8 is proven 20% stronger than 44. I was mostly posting to point out that he was probably thinking of most TJ 44s that are weaker. There are numerous articles that explains the same.
  16. You're confused... http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/154-0708-weakest-to-strongest-axles/
  17. Here is a couple more, i can get full pictures of truck later, i havebit apart right now doing a couple things. Anything specific you want? some far away pictures with the tire on the track. Just want to see what the overall truck looks like with it. I have been thinking about doing the same thing. Its all welded on, something like 18" of plating, comes around the sides for panel protection. Only thing i wish i had done, which ill get around to eventually is for the side protection, welded on something from "frame" to "slider" to provide a little more support. I came down hard on s

  19. I may have an extra stock reverse socket from when i cut mine if you're interested. No guarantees i may have tossed it.
  20. Ive been kinda dragging along in my list of things i want to get done prior to the wheeling season. Now that I'm slowly catching up and awaiting parts I'm finding busy work. I remembered i had some LED strips so i soldered them up and placed some in the grill area, i decided ill do some in the bed as well. They turn on with my rock lights so all the wiring is easy.
  21. Huge difference between any stock vehicle IFS and a KOH IFS rig...like lots and lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Not to mention weight displacement. Where is the majority of the weight on a normal vehicle? KOH tries to maintain a 50/50 ratio on rigs utilizing that suspension set up.
  22. Got around to a full LED swap, and waiting to hear back of a 14B axle! Picked up a spare 4.0 debating a stroker build.
  23. Mine are attached to cross member, you cut the old stock upper control arm mount off, the bends start about half way on the actual control arm. The axle mounts on mine stay in the same location.
