  1. I would just rock some 3" Hell Creek lift leaf springs, or maybe the military wrap MT springs from GS, and call it a day.
  2. I've heard very good things about the Napier flares. They make the style above (similar to bushwackers) and they also make a flat style flare that I think looks decent.
  3. Heck, I'd love to do that even if it cost $1000 in todays money.
  4. GS = General Springs. I replaced my rear leaf springs with GS standard leaf springs because my stock ones had broken leaves. Over a year later, and with some heavy stuff for more than half the time, they settled. After they settled, with the stock shackles, the rear sits over 2 inches higher than the front. They definitely sit higher than stock Comanche springs.
  5. Gotta love when the wheels are the shiniest thing on a vehicle lol. Nice progress so far.
  6. I see damage to the fender, cab corner, and box. That would easily be enough to total it. Probably just an estimate to replace the fender would total it. one mans junk is another mans treasure. That truck doesn't look so beat up it couldn't be straighted up a bit for cheap and turned into a good budget off roader. It would easily sell for the same price a scrap yard would fetch, if even a bit more if it ran or at least could run and drive with a little work. I side with jimoshel on this one, but I also see potential where others see scrap.
  7. Ok, this one I have to agree with. I dislike anything over 100% being used.
  8. When you get the chance, remove that C101. Well worth doing.
  9. You guys must be the life of the party at social gatherings. Know what I mean?
  10. You would want at least a 7" wide wheel if you were looking at a 31 x 10.5 tire. 8" would be a little more ideal, but there is definitely no issue with using a 7" wide wheel.
  11. You can always do a small bit of lift without hurting your road manners too much. With my new leaf springs from General springs and some Moog CC782 (Upcountry replacement) coils with 1" spacers up front, my truck has about 2" of lift up front and sits nearly level. I may do a set of lift shackles, but at this point I am happy with it. I am looking to build my own skid plates this summer if time and funds permit. I would rather spend my money on protection and better diffs (lockers or limited slips) than making the truck sit higher. The former has a greater effect on off road ability than the latter.
  12. Fish plate? In simple terms, a fish plate is a method of reinforcement where a "plate" of steel overlaps the joint being welded, and does so in such a way to break the weld line of the original joint and disperse the stress load over a wider area. If you google search it, you will find a lot of results on it.
  13. I got mine from AmericanMuscle.com on sale for like $40. It definitely adds to the look of the car, but be warned that with a lowered crown vic, that lip will find just about every non-level driveway entrance and large speed bump lol
  14. P.S. The springs come from here, they offer springs from +2" to -2" and a few inbetween (and stock). http://www.eatondetroitspring.com/ordering/ Since you have a 2002 and older whale, I would suggest Bilstein shocks as they are more readily avail than the KYB's, which are the easier option for 03+ cars.
  15. You don't need a lift for 30" tires. In fact, 31's clear with no lift.
  16. This. You have a few SUA options for a lift, but which option depends on the amt of lift you desire. chevy shackles will get you, at most, 2 inches of lift. Other options include Hell Creek springs, or General Springs Military wrap MT springs. I would advise against add-a-leaf kits personally, but it is another option.
  17. Using holes in the frame rails?
  18. I am definitely interested.
  19. That one in the pic was mine lol. It was lowered 1.5" on eaton P71 spec lowering springs with P71 spec KYB Gas-A-Just shocks, Addco front and rear sway bars, and Heinous rear control arms. Since it was a 2005, I didn't need the spacers to make the wheels fit. The tires were 255/45-18 Bridgestone RE760 Sports, and it handled like a beast...which made up for it lack of acceleration lol (an LX with a 2.73 open diff...weeee) Different angle on the same day. This was right after installing the wheels and tires, springs still hadn't quite settled fully yet.

    Show-off

I really love the look, but I have to admit that when I first saw the photos that your truck was a scale model lol.
  21. I haven't used it, but I really like it. At $379 though, sheesh. I'm sure it's durable, but wow...
  22. I definitely miss my crown vic sometimes, especially on long drives. Lowered with certain mustang wheels they tend to look really good.
  23. I've been interested in a solution to mount the Reese 37042 Hitch as it is currently up on Amazon for $79.95 (Plus 35 shipping), which is a bargain.
  24. It's a returnless fuel system, which means there is no fuel return from the regulator in the engine bay like there is on your truck from the factory. The returnless systems regulate the pressure from inside the tank as part of the hanger assembly.
  25. Get a good aftermarket replacement head when/if it cracks. Not a biggie. I would definitely do a little research on a full conversion like that. I know you have to fill holes and make new holes in the fire wall to do the complete conversion like you are describing.
