Jeep Cargo Light on Ebay
Automan2164 replied to jeepdoggydogB's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
And the seller previously had it listed for $5 starting bid, with the same shipping... And it didn't sell. I was hoping he would relist it with a lower shipping cost... He did relist it, all the same... Only difference was the MJ world all had eyes on it. :fs1: Rob ;) -
LKQ in Rockford, IL is a decent place, and any hitch is $50. Go on a discount weekend, and your talking $25. Rob L.

any ways to add extra power real cheap
Automan2164 replied to hick92's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Witch manifold would fit? Intake/Exhaust? Both? And whats the notching... My project would be way easier if the HO exhaust fits. I would like to say this is a good idea, but its not. You should only install a manifold that matches the head. The HO intake is more squared, and the Renix is square, with part of one of the corners filled in (don't ask me why). By putting the full square intake onto the partial square, you could actually loose power. You would be introducing a spot of turbulence that could actually impede the flow of air/fuel mixture. If you kept the Renix on the Renix, you wouldn't have a notch sticking out in the air/fuel stream causing problems. Rob -
You have no idea how much I would bother you for that. Rob L.

Looks like the whole assembly is cocked. How do the bushings look in the springs and shackles? U-bolts tight? Any evidence of bent items? Rob -

 I had a D35, then had to front axle swap, found a set of D30/D44HD, put them in for the 3.73's, then promptly lost the D44HD after finding a spun carrier race, and all others at the yard looked to have the same syndrome. D35 it is. Rob L. -
I should thank you for finding me a new way to blow all my money... I already found an '01 XJ that looks decent, but is in need of a new motor... Gears are turning. Rob L. :fs2:

Well butter my bread. TRA has an auction house in Milwaukee and Chicago near me. Going to have to make an excursion out to one of these... Can you just show up and watch before buying in? Rob
-
Bravo sir... And since you seem to be savvy on the auctions... How does one become involved? I would love to do what you do, but I think you have to be a dealer or licensed to even get through the door... Rob

What are your plans for the roof? Rob L.

This is a totally stupid question. We all know that there were no shortbed 1986 Comanches. On the contrary my friend. I'm a bit insulted. You shouldn't doubt me like that. It is rumored that there were some late availability shorties, even if it was only a handful of test models that snuck out. I personally, would like to know if that story holds water. Rob L.

Nope. Story of my life. Or should I say, my life with Jeep in Detroit. Rob L.

That second one doesn't even list an axle for sale. Rob L. -

Not that one, unless its the uber-rare Super D44HD. That thing is out of a Grand Cherokee, its made of aluminum. Its not the D44 we've grown to love. But, if the case is cast iron, then I would do it. But most likely not. 3.73's are also another hard to come by front axle, unless you find the rare one, or go ZJ LP front axle. Rob L. -
The "Death Wobble" has arrived
Automan2164 replied to JeepNewb's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It can be done, but only on a machine that's properly set up to do so. All the tire balancers I have used have a setting to put all weight to the inside. It takes into account where the weights are needed, and the correct amount needed if they were only place on the inside... Its not all that uncommon anymore, as a lot of manufacturers don't even put a lip for weights on the outside of the rim. But, back to the thread. Take the truck back to who balanced it, and tell them to try again. And that your not paying for it. Rob L. -
Sure. Don't see why not. :D Juuuuuuussssttttt Kidding! Everyone always wants my stuff... Like my long bed roll bar, my short bed roll bar... And believe me... I only let you guys see the tip of the iceburg... Teaser shots: And that's not all the tails either... But don't ask if I am selling. I am what the medical community calls a hoarder. Sure, I might not be using it now, but someday I might, and I plan on having MJ's for the rest of my time on this earth. Got to stock up while I can. Rob L. ;)

Going to need to see a picture of this, or you can post your VIN and have a member run it with Jeep. Rob L.

Automan2164 replied to hick92's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just harder for the rest of us trying to read it. You'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar. If you make your posts easier for the masses to decipher, you might get more/better responses. I can think of a few very helpful seasoned members who probably read your post, and skipped it because of the spelling/grammar. Short story, besides a home-brew cold air, there is no quick, easy, cheap, or free mods you can do. The 4.0 is a pretty stout motor out of the box as is. Rob L. -

It's been quietly waiting all winter to get back under the spotlight. I'm in the process of shaking all the winter projects out of the garage, and making room for it. Time to pull it in, and start prepping for paint. Soon grasshoppa. Soon. Rob L. 8)
