Sounds good. I will see what I can do. Rob L.

OR use this as a sign that if you want to avoid this yourself, don't buy from certain companies. ;) Rob L.

Like maybe a discount on a certain HO engine? :brows: Rob L.

Once I clear out some room in the garage, I also, will be doing the HO swap. '90 4.0L, AX15, NP231, D30 disco/35, 3.07's.... To '91 HO 4.0L, AX15, NP231, D30 non disco/ 8.25, 4.10's. I have the complete harness out of the XJ donor, and engine, and will be attempting to use the trans/t-case from the MJ. Axles are sourced from a '96 XJ 2.5L AX5. I have the cluster, as well as some odds and ends from the '91. I still need all of the open circuit cooling stuff. Should be fun. Rob L.

25% off?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? You just made my day Will!         That will save me $67.50 on the axles alone! Score! So are you down for some debotchery at 9 am? Rob L.

I believe Correy already fixed it. Rob L.

The stock MJ shackle is already on LONG SOB. It hard to make it even longer. I have heard the chevy drop shackles are pretty long here's my search. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16947&p=171818&hilit=chevy+drop+shackle#p171818 It helps when your life is the CC. I have a mental picture of what i need to search. I hope this helps you out. Rob L.

tmans mj and xj projects...
Automan2164 replied to tmanhollister's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Could just be the pic, but looks like there is a lot of negative camber on the front axle. (tilted in) Rob L. :dunno: -
I did a quick search, here's a good post: IN TWO PLACES!!! WOW!!! Glad to hear everyone is OK!!! Stock shackles are tin/thin junk, upgrade these as well. I suggest JKS 1.5" lift XJ units. I don't know if you know this, but The XJ has 3.5" long shackles while the MJ's are closer to 5.5" so a 1.5" lift XJ shackle is about the same length as a stock MJ shackle. They are WAY stout and good looking to boot!! CW viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18243&hilit=shackle+long Rob L.

This titbit of info is promising. Rob L. if i remember right you should be able to tell just by looking, the aluminum tubes are easy to tell the difference, i'd hold out to find a non aluminum I don't know how long I can hold out... The howling is getting worse and worse. I'll take my chances. This is just going to be basically stock, maybe a 1-2 lift, and 30's or something at most. Rob L.

I would say the stronger the better. Grade 8 in standard, or 10.9 in metric. It won't cost that much more and it will provide cheap insurance. Rob L.

There has got to be 20-30 pairs at LKQ. I am planning on going back Sat morning. Maybe you could join Will and I for some axle carnage? Rob L. find out the price for me if you would. where is it, rockford? thats a hike for me, but i'm off for the holiday weekend, i'll have to see what the fam is up to. i think the sad part is i use lkq at work for all our used parts, and they deliver to my shop. their prices are great to the shop, i could probably just have them deliver this stuff for the same price we're paying, but the boss wouldn't appreciate it. Its on the southwest side of Rockford... and the price is right there on the website. If you come over... come around town on the bypass.. the festival will have the streets in town pretty clogged up. But it would be $10 for a manual mirror. how far do you think that is from say gurnee (should be a well known city). and thanks, for 10 bux if i don't show up someone better get me some mirrors  I'll see what I can do. Just called over there. For a COMPLETE solid axle, hub to hub its $135. So I am going to load up the gene on the trailer, and bring a sawzall and electric impact. Hopefully the ZJ will still be there. I plan on grabbing the driveshafts also. Rob L.

I am taking out roasted D30/D35 3.55's, and putting in D30/D44 limited slip with 3.73's. Why? Rob L.

This is the website for the yard. It really is THE CLEANEST, most organized yard I have ever roamed. All vehicles are on improvised stands, with ample room underneath to almost sit indian style. Its all organized, and even the check out is awesome. Its a set of auto sliding doors you wheel you loot into, and they mark it with their logo, since all parts have a 30 day guarantee. All prices are set, so you know what your paying for before hand, no suprises. There is a porta-potty in the yard, they give you a wheelbarrow, a cart with convienience spare wheels, and access to these huge cherry picker cranes. Only things not allowed are liquor and torches. http://lkqselfserve.com/FindaLocation/L ... fault.aspx Pics of some vehicles and how they sit in this yard: All sitting off the ground, on hard packed gravel. My axle donor: I higly reccommend any of these LKQ yards. Very nice. Rob L.

Yeah. I want desperately to move to the country, but I would be fine if someone bought my 2 spare vehicles. :( Then I could pull the MJ into the middle of the garage, and start the teardown. I might just have to drop the price of the RE XJ, and Put some fire under Pat to come and pick up the Axle donor. Sigh. Rob L.

If they want to play that game, I have 2 more jeeps in the garage to rotate through. I will hide the MJ, and Put an unregistered Xj out there. "What? I got rid of the truck like you told me to..." Rob L. :D

 We need to get yours and Wade's together, and see if they can birth another B-A comanche... :brows: Rob L. :dunno: :D

EVEN MORE GOOD LUCK AT A YARD!!! Since I have to drive by a JU everyday to work, I usually catch all of the incoming CFC cars. Today while heading out with a squad car, I spotted this: :brows: Now usually, this yard is a rip-off, but if you can catch it before it goes in, they just guess as they haven't even seen the part yet. I went on lunch, Asked, and they said "What? Like $65." SOLD. I went out and wrenched my brains out. Its in OK shape, needs some attention from the wire wheel, and a hammer where it looks like it met a pole. But for $65, I'll take it. I plan on modifiing the mounting system anywho, inorder to have it bolt straight up to the factory plow brackets during summer. I ended up taking the factory bumper with it, since no-one was watching. ;) While I was paying, I asked about any MJ's. They had one in a private area, so I asked to take a look. Shortbed '91 or '92 Eliminator 2WD 5 Speed. Grey. The bed was toast, and I already have some MJ-spares, so I took the visor. $40. Same faded grey as my MJ, so that works out too. I asked about the gate, but $100 was a little steep for me. I can keep my eye on LKQ and get on for $45. But here's my loot: The dry test fit looked good. The guard just got set on some milk crates, so thts why it looks crooked. I am chomping at the bit to start working on it once I get the room in the garage. Which might come sooner than later, since the MJ has been declared a "Public Nuisance" By the city, and must be registered or removed from my property by Firday. Jerks. :fs1: Rob L.

I contribute to a different cause through my plates: Every plate gives $20 to the memorial, and a little more lee-way when it comes to the police. Oh, and actually being a FF helps too. :D Rob L.

Mmm. Cici's. For $5. All you can eat. Ever been to golden corral? :D Rob L.
