  1. http://www.jeepoemparts.com/jeep-comanche-parts.html Seen some places off kilter before, but not by this much.
  2. pull the upper radiator hose off and burp it by squeezing the lower one. Do it slowly as you will force some of it out of the block. top it off, reconnect and continue burping it by the upper hose. Run it up to temperature, and it should all be good.
  3. Anyway to establish a filter? would be neat to sort posts by region/state when looking for objects to purchase.
  4. I have a paypal, it just doesnt seem to be recognized on precision's or any other web site, Have called PP numerous times to correct to no avail. Just don't want to use it, it has been screwy account from day one
  5. BTW , it still gets 24MPG
  6. In 1987, got my first good paying job after leaving the military, decided to treat myself to a new vehicle and wanted a pickup. Jeep had a cool commercial that showed a truck driver stopping to get chow from a diner. The truck was hauling a comanche, and everone went to look. (anybody remember that commercial?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aS_wAtN__i0 Well, I decided to go to my local pontiac/jeep dealer, spent half the day looking over vehicles with all sorts of options on them, ended up with my plain jane version and have been driving it ever since.
  7. Does anyone know if Precision injectors will take a payment other than Pay Pal? I have had a time trying to place an order with them and am thinking of just bagging it and buying new or overhauling mine.
  8. I just transplanted mine in Dallas. But that is more than 50 miles I suspect.
  9. Dang, I thought I was the only one!
  10. I might be able to help with the blinkers on the dash. Not sure of the year of your truck, but when mine was doing that it was due to corrosion in the socket connector on the blinkers themselves. Jeep (in their wisdom) had put some kind of dielectric grease in the socket before connecting the bulb. This stuff tended to keep the moisture locked in at the same time and after many, many years, the copper inside the socket was pretty much gone. I ended up buying a replacement socket from the help section of my local autoparts store and that fixed it. It ended up being a universal GM style.
  11. :agree: Had the same thing with an intake manifold leak.
  12. I put in a 4.0 from a 92 cherokee before I knew there was a difference. Since I only got the block and heads, it still is a RENIX system and works fine after install.
  13. Starting a new job down in the dallas area, noted that you need several inspections on your vehicle in order to register. Anyone have a hard time with emissions and saftey check on their comanche? mechanically it is in good shape, but I havent had to mess with emissions ever and my cat converter is just a shell. any info is appreciated.
  14. Write up for cluster swap. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=921205
  15. You gotta search the net for them. Doubtful there are any available at in dealer ships, but if you can find the P/N of what you need, they at least can do a search for you. Found this, but no time to look at much cause I don't know what you are specifically looking for. http://www.thefind.com/cars/info-jeep-decals#page=1 Here is what I got out of the parts catalog for a pioneer, should be able to blow it up so it is readable.
  16. Colorado recently passed a law forbidding cell phone use while driving. Yesterday (wish I got a pic with my cell phone :brows: )I was passed by a state trooper; talking on his cell phone WHILE typing something in to the laptop mounted in front of his dash at 65mph. WTF! The news has been extolling the virtue of this law, just cracks me up that it is only applicable to the masses and not people charged with enforcement. :thwak:
  17. Replaced my passenger door with a rust free version.
  18. Try this websitehttp://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=8171&utm_source=Affiliate&utm_medium=CJ&utm_campaign=CJ_ProdCat 7.99
  19. i read that thread :( did your "friend" help you fix it any? or atleast help you get a ride home? No, but he gave me a check for all the parts that I bought to get it up and runnin' so we are square.
  20. I think the issue here is a misunderstanding of what a "rare" vehicle is. Man, I sure wish there was some way for us to see exactly how many comanches are still registered in the US by year...... :hmm:
  21. http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/1663375801.html
  22. Ahhh. Life is complete. Co-worker gave me a check for the damages.
  23. Fixed my electrical issue after "friend" provided an improper jump start. (crossed the cables)
  24. to all the great suggestions helping me through this. After changing out the following: (items confirmed toast from crossing jumper cables) New battery New Starter relay all the fusible links to the starter relay and replacing ground cable as well as adding two new grounds to the body. The truck LIVES again. I have no current draws when tested every thing but the radio works (has an inline fuse that I am sure is gone, but will fix later). Drove around town for 30 minutes this evening and will venture the 50 mile drive to Denver in the a.m.
  25. Only thing I can think of is the length due to a unit w/cruise control has a speed switch just down range from the instrument cluster,so in effect requiring two cables if you were replacing one on a cruise vehicle. But conjecture on my part, cause I don't have cruise either.
