    Dangit!!

This drives me CRAZY when people do this. They post an add and then won't answer the phone or email/call you back. I could go on and on and on...and then on some more about this. I know everyone loves Craigslist because it's free and you get good deals and this and that and the other thing, BUT, I really feel as though we could weed out a lot of the idiots that really have no intention whatsoever of putting forth an ounce of their worthless effort to sell their item if we made each ad cost, say, a nickel.
  2. I thought it sounded better this way.
  3. What's a pink slip?
  4. Nothing quite like doing burnouts in the church parking lot.

    Dangit!!

haha Good news - the owner of the frame rotted '91MJ called me back and he's still got it. Says he'll e-mail me pictures tonight or tomorrow. I think he had it originally listed for $1200, then $1000, then $800. Figure I'll offer just over scrap value since that seems to be where it's going anyway. He gave me a great line that gave me a WTF look, "I've had so many people interested that I haven't had the motivation to do anything." Huh? What? People want to give you money for an item you want to sell but you don't want it? Color me confused.

Ah, the old "I'm bringing it to the scrapper if not sold by this date" ad. We may have lost a '91 4.0L, 4x4, auto, SWB w/115K miles and some frame rot to the scrapper on Saturday. Seller told me he was going to send some pictures to me and would hold it if I wanted it. But then he just fell off the face of the planet. I think I'll try giving him another ring...
  7. Gasoline smells better, but diesel has a better taste.
  8. See the 5.9L Comanche in my sig. Need more hours in the day. Or a way to stop the clock (but it would also need to stop my body from aging).
  9. NJ may do it, too. The salvage title for my '98XJ is red, but it's also eight years old and that simply may have been the color of all titles back then. I'm not sure since I never owned my own car way back then, but all of my newer titles are blue (well, purpleish blue). Only around the borders, though.
  10. Not even Wolfenstein 3-D, but regular old Castle Wolfenstein? I still play the old W3-D every now and again. I don't like killing the dogs, though :(
  11. I may have one, if you're interested. I took one out of a '91 Cherokee in hopes that it would fix my "3/4 is full" fuel gauge, but it didn't, so I stuck the original cluster back in. I want to say the mileage was around 160K, too. I'll have to look when I get home.
  12. If you're ever on the Eastern side of PA, there are two pick n' pulls I always go to - Junkyard Barbie and Crescent Auto Parts. Both are within 5 minutes of each other in Morrisville, PA. Junkyard Barbie has a Cherokee/Grand Cherokee section and has had an MJ sitting in their yard for almost a year now. I took everything I wanted from it, but there are still a few MJ-specific items on it.
  13. So, you're saying the factory did an excellent job creating this Jeep as it went down the assembly line? What does it look like from the cab back? I'm curious as to how well (or not) this thing was made to accommodate its unique rear end.
  14. Use the cashiers check to buy the remaining six '91 Eliminators. The current owners likely do not have the inside production information you now have and do not know the true worth of their vehicle and they can be had for cheap. A sound investment.
  15. You will want to be looking for a Pioneer MJ with a manual trans and little to no options. That combination should net you the "chrome" (grey) trim and none of the rectangle covers removed.
  16. 30 grand if it has a factory cargo light.
  17. The document is the Warn rebate for $80 off a new winch.
  18. Any of these a good deal after the mail in rebate? I don't know much about winch pricing... http://www.quadratec.com/Showcases/WARN ... rm2011.pdf
  19. Nice. I was gonna go up to the swap meet, too, but the weather was retarded. How butchered up is that MJ?
  20. Sounds like it may be a Street MJ. From the limited information on the ones that have been for sale in the past, they normally have a D35.
  21. Wouldn't we all...
  22. Mine: Don't have the hole on the frame behind the steering box included. But, as you can see, we have quite a few different dimensions. One that I found particularly interesting was that you placed one of the steering box holes 3/16" above the front-bottom bumper mount hole whereas I had it on the same plane. I'll have to take another look at that. Just so you know, I have cut this bracket out of 1/4" steel and test fit it on one of my MJs and it fit very nicely: I suppose I should test fit this on my other MJs to make sure it fits on those! -Tim
  23. It's just about every dimension lol I'll send you what I've got.
