  1. Hey Sam - let me know if/when you sell this stuff and how much you get for it. Interested in the market rate for some of these items since I'm going to start doing a liquidation of my assets :D
  2. The track bar bolt is a 10mm diameter bolt, originally. Here is an easy fix: http://jeepin.com/features/trackbarfix
  3. LOL!! Well, you had a pretty decent run there, Dakota...
  4. Nice score! I wish the yards that are nearby me had KJs and WJs. Well, they did have one KJ, but it was stripped down to the bare metal by the time I saw it. I think they left the hatch :D
  5. Good tips, Jim. We can always count on you to be the fellow that has "been there, done that!" Might be a pipe dream at this stage in the game, but I think it could be fun and potentially very interesting. Although, I did misread the nearby campgrounds in Ocean City, MD...it's more like $20 to $30 per night rather than for the annual pass. I just need to better educate myself on these vehicles so I don't get myself into too much of a money pit. A buddy of mine bought a Dodge campervan - can't think of the name off the top of my head, but it's a good deal larger than a normal conversion van, but not quite an RV. He just left his job not too long ago and has been traveling the country in it playing gigs with his band. Sounds and looks like a lot of fun...too bad I don't have a band. Traveling mechanic?
  6. I saw the shows when he was fixing up that old CJ. I think he wound up selling it for 3,900 pounds and made just under 200 pounds on it. Of course, that's not including the labor costs, which were pretty substantial on this vehicle. They redid most of the suspension parts and interior.
  7. The idea spawned for a couple of reasons: 1. My GF is living down in Ocean City, MD this summer and is CRAMMED into an apartment with four other girls. So when I go to visit, it's going to be uncomfortable and awkward. Or, I could pay $90/night for a hotel in the area. Or I could pay $30 for an annual pass to the nearby beach campground and park overnight on the beach so long as I'm engaging in "active recreation." Plus I could bring my dogs with me if I did that. 2. My next job/living arrangement is currently in the air. I know the general area that I'll be in, but I don't know exactly where yet. Call it crazy, but when I start hunting for jobs and/or places to live, I'll be 4+ hours from home and might need a place to crash for the night. Why not in my very own camper at a truck stop? (I need to check the legality of that!) I also had someone offer up an older RV as a straight trade for my ZJ. This was a couple months ago and I laughed at the idea but today I was thinking about it...actually, that may not be so bad. The RV on the table was pretty old and massive...I'd be looking for something much smaller like a van.
  8. I remember when it first came out and was limited to only Harvard and other Ivy League college students. My uber-smart friends wouldn't STFU about how awesome it was, but I was just at a lowly NJ state school and it wasn't until about the summer of '04 that my school was allowed on it. Back then, there was another site called collegefacebook.com that all of the non-Facebook colleges were on, but once Facebook opened up to the world, that site vanished. Before Facebook was opened up to EVERYONE with a valid e-mail address, it was a lot more interesting to me. I don't really like to use it much anymore now that my parents, aunts, uncles, girlfriend's mother, and girlfriend's relatives are on it. I moved out of my parents house to have more privacy and freedom, but it seems like every time I put up a status or make a comment on someone's photo or wall, I will get a nonchalant comment about it at the next family gathering. Dunno why, but it bothers me.
  9. I really like the look of this guy: https://picasaweb.google.com/1100612831 ... oiXwsiaBw# For sale for $5500...
  10. But he's just going to tell me to get a Westfalia VW camper...which I can't afford :D
  11. I've been browsing a ton of random classified ads and have narrowed it down some. I'm thinking along the lines of Class B campervans such as a Chevy Roadtek, Ford Falcon, Ford Fiesta, and whatever Dodge brands their campervans as. Most seem to be out of my price range, but I did find a couple that need engine/trans work, which would be a perfect fixer-upper for me.
  12. I need some of the edumacated folks on here to school me on the in's and out's of a camper or conversion van or whatever the heck they're called. I'm looking at trading/selling some of my extra vehicles to fund the purchase of a van that has living area of some sort. Not looking to spend much more than 3-4 grand on the thing so I know I'm limiting myself to the late 80's and early 90's. Also not looking for a big RV or something that's going to get 8 miles to the gallon. I've seen some Ford, Dodge, and Chevy vans in the price range I'm looking at, but was wondering if any of you guys have some things to look out for. Thanks!

  14. The meeting went well. My bosses understood the situation that I'm in and thought I was making a good decision. We talked over some options, but ultimately decided for me to switch from my full-time salary to part-time hourly, starting next month. There will still be some weeks where I'll put in 40+ hours, but it will now allow me to take some extended periods of time off to start cleaning up my shop, getting ready for the move, and finding a job/place to live.
  15. I'm building an '88MJ with the engine/trans/PCM out of a Niner. I also have the parts and plans to supercharge it and tune it with an SCT tuner. Should be a lot of fun once I'm all done with it...if I can actually keep the rear wheels from spinning, that is.
  16. What makes the latest Niner faster than your others? I picked up a Stone White Niner a couple weeks ago on the cheap and will eventually be parting it out. The grill won't be cheap, though ;)
  17. I have a feeling that when I finally get to sit down and discuss my options with the bosses they will ask me what it would take to stay. This is going to put me in a really awkward position since my choice to leave my job isn't because I'm getting paid more elsewhere, but because I simply want to be closer with the one I love so that we can start taking ACTUAL steps towards the next part of our relationship. So now I have to put a price tag on love....interesting. As for my job search in Maryland - I've found a few government jobs through the websites you guys posted - thanks! I also found a few positions at some power generation stations that I may be a little bit underqualified for, but I'm going to send my resume to them anyway and see what happens. My hope that is if I am able to go part time at my new job, I can take extra days, without pay obviously, to drive down to Maryland and do some interviews. I fully anticipate the job hunt to be a long one so hopefully I can continue doing part time work at my current job. If they decide to dump me (which I feel would be unlikely), I've got plenty of funds to get me through for a while and plenty of other sources of income generation.
  18. Just in case anyone wants to keep tabs on me, I informed my company last week that a move is in my foreseeable future. Hopefully the boss and boss-to-be will both be in (they were both out at sites today) so that we can sit down and discuss what options I may have. If all goes well, I'm going to go to part-time, paid hourly, so that I still have some income coming in to pay the monthly bills, but will also have the freedom to take extra days to begin the clean-up and clean-out of my shop and continue looking for jobs and housing in Maryland. I guess worst case scenario would be that they fire me on the spot. I suspect that they won't allow me to go part-time and will ask for a definitive date that I will be leaving and I'll work full-time up until that day.
  19. I think it's an electric MJ!
  20. Looks like my '92's twin. What year is it? I'm going with 91/92, too.
  21. Maybe he removed the cargo light from the pictures so as not to get harassed by certain members on this forum :D
  22. Very nice. The very odd placement of the 4x4 badges and exceptionally shiny coat suggest a fairly recent repaint. Macco jobber or something a little more professional?
  23. '92 MJs and goofy interior conversions seem to be common at the moment http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/2366546584.html
  24. Did you find this supplier on Alibaba.com?
