  1. tail lights on these units are damn near impossible to find for under $100 a peice. and I'm sure that some of you also refused to pay that, so what I'm wondering is what is the easiest swap?? i know nothing will mount exact but whats the closest?? XJ??
  2. so what did everyone figure out?? I'm looking to do a 3/4 on the MJ and this post is perfect. but since i won't be starting for a couple of weeks i would like to know how everyone made out.
  3. what do you mean by "blade" on the tractor?? everytime ive ever got the tractor stuck i just tilt the bucket to the inside, pick up the front end and lift the bucket to the outside. pushes back about 6 inches. i found it works really good. saved me a time or two for a pretty sticky situation.
  4. while digging the holes for my fence this past spring i found a set of vise grips, they were about 36 inches down. they were messed. while taking a brake i through them in a pale and covered the vise grips in vep 45. the rust was still there but they work as if they were new. i have since cleaned them up with a wire wheel. no rust and no shiny finish.
  5. well it time for pay back. them them some random thing is going, like the differencial fluid pump is going do to the mud. thats always fun, unless you like your job.
  6. as a good ol' alberta boy, I'm kinda lost where wainwright is?? haha, wicked good hunting up there. planning a jeepin trip for summer 2011 up to alaska. its gonna be great. have fun
  7. i know. like i said before they were on that jeep when i purchased the YJ and I'm not 100% on what they came out of. but I'm having one hell of a time finding conversion brackets though. i think i might have found some.
  8. ill have to check them out. i can't seem to find what I'm looking for on the ruffstuffs site. lots of goodies but i can't find the dana 44 to coil conversion or brackets.
  9. its the front. I'm not 100% on what they were out of but the YJ is leafs and i need a kit/mounting brakes to convert the front to mount coils. but i will have to look up those ruff's. thanks
  10. ive got a dana 44 out of my YJ and was looking for mounting brackets to mount to the MJ. anyone know of any companys that would makes and sell them?? the welding is not an issue but i don't want to waste my time on cutting them off the MJ and then rewelding them.
  11. wow its been a week for ax15's. i pulled mine out of a 91 yj also, but took the np231, clutch, and all the other goodies
  12. the top is the crank position sensor if I'm following you correct. is there like a 2 inch oval hole??
  13. i think when the clutch was installed something was forgotten like the clutch release bearring or something along that line. i was just think about having a spare.
  14. got my ax15 and np231 today, 4wd here i come.
  15. is the clutch of the pukegoat the same as the one in the ax-15?? i just pulled my donor ax15 and np231 out and the ax15 was having clutch problems, so i was wondering if a could just take the clutch out of the pugeot and drop it in the ax15. would it be the same through out, etc.
  16. haha thats great. ive got the seat and carpet pulled out right now and its still a mess! i cleaned it out to do the floor and when i was done a through all the carpet and crap back in there untill i make a dump run.
  17. i don't think anyone can mess up jeep anymore then what chrysler has already. compass?? commander?? C'Mon! and fiat is a division of nissan, which is great news for a 4wheel drive vehicle. i like the idea of fiat buying out jeep, its the best solution if we want to see the jeep brand continue. and if the mess up.... oh well, they havent made a "real" jeep in the last 5 years. jeep is already gone.
  18. thats a good looking dog. ive got a rotty-masstiff cross and hes great. hes about 190LBS a drools like mad!! but he is an amazing dog. i resuced him from an autobody shop, so right away i knew we would get along. and great with kids. he understands his size so hes very gentle and careful. And i don't know about everyone else experience with cockers but everyone i have ever had has been brain dead and horrible with kids. they were good dogs but i wouldnt recommend them to someone with young kids.
  19. I'm pretty anal about the garbage but I'm really bad with coats. go to wotk its cold out so i wear a coat or 2, about lunch time it warms up so i take the coat off and put it in the car. when i get home from work i always forget the coat so in the morning a grab another. and the cycle begins.
  20. i went with tremclad on my car. i didnt spray bomb it, for you never get an even looking coat, so i went out and bought a cheap gun ( around $90 ) and bought a can of paint and went at her. cost around $110 with gun and it turned out really good. could use another coat but it looks wicked as is from 10ft. and about the clean issue, who cares its a jeep.

    Chopped XJ

i think its one of the better looking XJ's ive seen. 10 grand is a little steep, but if hes selling his baby then how do we put a price on that. looks like there is alot of work put into her though. i plan on build one up like that for my brother, hes got a wife and kids so he need the back seat. but i will be putting in atlease 3 point seatbelts and making sure everything is bolted down.
  22. i have one but i never put it on anything. i got a buddy to make it so it didnt cost me anything, but at the time i worked with quite a few fat paople and didnt want my tires to get slashed out. those 35x14.5 aint cheap. Jacker up- fat chicks can't jump.
  23. yeah 4.10's will really increase your get up and go. and with the 4.0, its a great stock motor, but to add power to it will cost you way more then what its worth. the easiest way to put some power to the wheels of a jeep is SB power. i really hate the term " no replacement for displacement" cause it is so not true. them little japanesse and european motors blow away or motors hands down. like a 2.5 toyota motor over there puts out 320 HP at the crank where are stock 350's- 5.7 puts out under 300 to the crank. plus the balnacing of them motors is incredable. there deisels red line at what are gas engines redline at. just my 2 cents :hijack:
  24. a grand on a 2wd 4 banger. i wouldnt do it. you can find a nice 4.0 for around that pricce.
  25. why a 327?? why not go with a 383. it will be just as much work and every company under the sun sell conversion kits for the 350, then just stock it to a 383. unless you have the 305 or 327 already.
