  1. Cool beans. I take it you have seen the sweet blue MJ down the road just east from the QT in that area? I have been working 'round there in PV. O Riley and Napa are my go to stores.
  2. Thanks for the info. Over the past few years I have studied my favorite oils, lubes, and filters carefully. The number of changes in the same product is almost scary. On a side note, I run the V8 F150 mobile1 filter. What O Reillys do you work at? They are scares here. All I ever seem to find are Advance.
  3. I really don't like one piece plastic front ends. That "Alfa" looks like a bad Hot Wheels toy. The durango as a grand looks ok. Me = Not impressed
  4. You can see how I went about the shift indicator in my build. I can't pull or take more pictures until this Saturday. Odometer reads around 175k and was originally from a 92 xj. Don't really know what its worth now. Maybe $40 shipped?
  5. I have one in my truck I need to part with. It is however, set up for column shift.
  6. I have the factory left hand side switch pannel with fog light and defrost switches. I will put up the pics after work. Fog switch works perfect, never tested defrost. Can be yours for the cost of shipping and a little more. Still mounted in the truck, but will pull this weekend when I get to it. Image Not Found Image Not Found
  7. Saw this one when I went to the bank last week: Image Not Found Then later that week while planning a circuit I saw this one: Image Not Found
  8. I studied this stuff in school. I will never live within the 500 year flood plain.
  9. AX-15 synchros will go to pot quickly if a gear oil with the wrong specifications is used. I don't remember what the AX-15 requires, been a few years.
  10. Sounds like you are on the right track. Heck, worst case you end up with a HO 4.0 for your MJ. My old 90 YJ had major rust issues under the battery.
  11. Google? I have only used it on a friends computer. But I know it is free to get.
  12. I got my Masters of LA... Couldn't find a job in the field so I am now with the power company planning tree trimming. Go to the student computer store around April 11 and get the student version of CS4. Probably $4-500, but you should be able to upgrade to CS5 for free since it is due to release around then. However, if you really want a free download, try GIMP. It has all of the functions as basic photoshop and is 100% free. The picture was a photoshop. Took one of my old for sale pics of the car and manipulated it over a pic of a buddys rubi out in ouray. Had to make the miata bigger, add wheel base, and then bump up the tire size from 33s to 37s. I forgot to clean up around the base of the front pasenger tire... So that makes it a clear photoshop.
  13. Photoshop and lots of layers  I got my degree in Landscape Architecture where we would self teach ourselves fun ways to manipulate pictures since there was no course offered to teach us. I am sure if anybody who knows what they are doing watched me work, they would stroke out because of bad habits
  14. Thanks :D I think my next project will be a rendering of how I hope my MJ turns out.
  15. Next door... haha 119th and Hayes (69).
  16. If you want textured, stick with the 'Hammered' stuff. What you are looking at is for decorative pots and stuff. Also consider the Duplicolor spray in bed liner. Has a smooth type texture to it.
  17. It took me 3 hours or so, including the preparation and enjoyment of dinner after I replaced the TJs blower motor resistor. Had to get done before the K-State game so I could relax after a 10 hour day!
  18. Yup. They are really fun cars to drive once you get past the...ummm... Stereotype. Not a practical car for the person who is always moving though. Thanks! I usually stay busy, away from the computer though. We'll see what happens next. Take a look at any other Miata and you'll see how much the fenders were trimmed. I tried to do more, but it just didn't look right. Does the extended wheelbase count for anything? Lift? Think low COG.
  19. Not any more than a number of the high end TJ tube flares... And all they are is bent tubing with sheet metal welded on.
  20. Was bored with myself this afternoon and created this: Image Not Found Thought my MJ brethren would appreciate it! Sorry if the picture is huge. No internet on my PC and I have not mastered this phone stuff.
  21. For about 5 years I crunched the numbers on a Brute conversion for a TJ. The problem is they are very expensive, and you gain what? A neat looking Jeep with no practical value? Fuel prices were high and I needed something other than my TJ to DD. Bought a Miata. Was fun but way to small to even go grocery shopping. So it was put on the market. I remembered that forgotten Jeep Truck I used to think was so cool as a kid. Heck, it should be as fuel efficient as an XJ. Bought my 92 for WAY too much after only looking at one other rust bucket. That was 1 year ago. Now it sits in a barn in pieces while I continue to DD my TJ....
  22. Haha. My girlfriends grandfather told me he once took his shiny new Grand Wagogneer over a pass around Leadville (the name has slipped my mind). His wife argued his new Jeep would get torn up, but they still went for it. Got to the top and saw a family of 4 in a convertible GTO. Guess with big motors and a limited slip rear end you can do anything. If your GF'S GD was driving a brown/tan Waggy over Mosquito Pass in July,1972 tell him you talked with the driver of the Blue '65 GTO convertable,389, 4spd,posi trac, who remebers him and the pleasant conversation we all had. Jim I would be curious to know how this part of the story ends. Talk about a small world. :dunno: Well we talked to her grandather and he seemed very confident that Jim is who they ran into. Returning a message, 'well tell him hello.' He would have been a very easy going western ks farmer who liked to talk. Amazing how small the world can be at times brought together by the exciting life of MJ (not the late pop star).

    Seriously?

My definition of cold is when it hurts to inhale the cold air. That is too cold. Its getting warm today after the chilly start we had.

    Seriously?

Haha. Born and raised in KS. I remember a late April ice storm that caused major power outages many years ago.
  25. Sad to see it go. But it is nice to see that the owner is sharing the love.
