  1. ive had cooling issues for a while now and i just got paid and finally have the money to deal with said issues. however. i don't know if my radiator is acutally the culprit, but ive done: fan clutch, waterpump, turtle, and cap. and my lower rad hose has the spring. and thermostat is a 160 right now cause thats what we had. (not by choice, i know 185 is the best) so the only thing left is radiator, and clogged passages. i got a quote from 800 radiator for a 3-row modine for 157~ to my door tomarow morning do it? or not.
  2. hmm good deal i think mine would blow cold if the clutch worked. but i don't get any drop in idle at all or anything when i cut it on so I'm pretty sure it doesnt kick in.
  3. my brother and i bought a Lincoln weld pack 3200 (i think thats the number) which is the biggest one we could run on a house circuit... it blasts up to 1/4 inch steel, has the MIG hookups too... it does good for me.. i think it was close to 400
  4. that was my brothers first idea too so we torqued that up... good and snug. my problem seems to happen worse if i take a couple hard corners (curvy GA roads) then driving normal itll wobble more for a while (but not during the corners)
  5. @#$%! wrong again i suppose  whoopsa.
  6. ;) how do i know if its good or not though if i get it from a JY?
  7. ooooh ahhhh, more manchedom! just got my club vinyl on the window today!
  8. yeah, so how would one test his LCAs?
  9. yeah, ive heard 4" is the highest you can go with the stock trac-bar so i'd imagine you can drive on it just to the shop.
  10. ...cause they aint broke?
  11. thats just about worth it (not this time a year but come may it will be) how hard is it to remove/install one of these? does the freon hurt skin? or is it just poisonous?
  12. UPDATE: balljoints don't move AT ALL (knock on wood) nor do wheel bearings.
  13. randimal: my jeeps stock height... i wish that were my problem :D pong: its always had wobble it has just gotten worse though... jeep hasnt been wheeled hard enough to cuase bent steering or any of that..yet (blown axle u-joint shaft can turn a good 1/4-5/8" without tire movin  ) so i guess the next check is bustin out the tape measure to ballpark my alignment?
  14. i still pull a modest 17 mpg with 3.07s a five speed, and stock height...
  15. apparently if your manche has the beefed up ones (not sure if 2wds have them or not) but theyre different than XJ mounts and a PITA to remove... not sure... i seem to remember a thread with plenty of pictures of it on here.
  16. yeah, I'm pretty sure my LCA's could be the culprit. lookin pretty weary after 17 years... any other things to check? this is no mild shaking... this is DEATH wobble... my friend was following me while it happened as i went 55 or so and he said mud and shhtuff was flying out all over, and described it as "your truck was trying to throw you out of it"
  17. how would one "test" his balljoints... i reaaally need to find the culprit of this stinkin death wobble... its absolutely killer. ive had the front tires balanced and that helped a bit... but then it came back, havent tried the back tires. (only happens at 45, or if i hit a bad spot going 45+)
  18. all you ruddy 2.5 lovers :brows: I'm feelin my 4.0... and its HEAT through the floor cause it can't stay cool! hehe... i agree with Dirty, my cd player cured the whiny peugoet... now if it blows up at least i won't be worried about it until it happens
  19. we've got 9 but its my parents house. and they HATE it. 4- maxima tires (no clue what size) 3- 215/75/15 on stock jeep 5spokes 1- cut pirelli A/T from my truck on 10-spoke 1- spare from the JY
  20. yeah, its too late... get some butterfly bandages to hold it together. those are like cheap-o stitches :D

    puegot woes

well ive been having alot of noise lately in my tranny so firs tthought is lube, i must be low on lube (problem has been persisting for about 2-3 weeks) and i have been to lazy to make the "chock" for lack of a better word for the fill plug... well this week i got around to grindin down a 3/8in drive extension, made the tool, take the plug out... disasemble shifter and begin pouring in lube from the top... after pouring 2 complete quarts of fluid and having none leak out the fill plug i begin to wonder.. "how much does this thing hold?" so i looked it up... 4.9 PINTS. (thats like 2.4 quarts) in total i added 2 1/4 quarts or so. OUCH
  25. OOH i made a drawing of the setup for someone a while back this is what it looks like....
