  1. great time with you guys, i got some video taking its sweet time loading. mvusse, i got some good vids and pics of yours, you sure can move that long bed around. he did really good out there.
  2. it started already, staring out the door at the jeep. gonna be a long day. i'll be at camp around 11:30 i'm guessing, i'll be lookin for wade's truck.
  3. i'm all loaded, gonna be a long day at work tomorrow staring at the jeep in the parking lot on the trailer all day......maybe the boss will let me go early  ...........  ya right.
  4. i do know first hand that change in gears is not noticeable. i was shipped 4.56 gears once when i ordered 4.10, i didn't check and i installed the 4.56 in the rear. i didn't even notice for weeks till i tried to use 4wd. i didn't notice the difference, and i'm very sensitive to vehicles.
  5. if it came out of a tj d44 it won't work in another d44. tj d44 is different, the gears are thicker. i just had a d44 tj axle apart, and i did see the difference. i'm 99,9% sure, i was told it wouldn't work, and i see the difference. wouldn't hurt to verify that other .1% though.
  6. sunny and 80's is the forecast
  7. loadin up tonight, c ya suckers tomorrow :clapping:
  8. ^ok, i'm leaving my tools at the shop  :rotf:
  9. nice, i got another "almost sure" that may meet up with us.
  10. ^ yer the jag :fool: :thwak: :fs2:
  11. ya i know, i broke that rule my last trip. ran with a group where a couple guys weren't prepared.....its not fun because of all the time it takes to do recoveries, and more important, its not safe.
  12. ya, cb's and proper tow points. not to be a jag, but i won't wheel with someone that doesn't have tow points. no metal hooks on straps, and no tieing knots and stupid stuff like that.
  13. Anyone know? I can't remember. they have a couple different choices, most expensive being 20 bux i think. i still have the first one i bought 10 yrs ago to. but its a good idea to figure out how to mount it now, cuz its a pain sitting in the entrance waiting for someone to figure out how to mount your flag. you can also zip tie one to a cb antenna we all have cb's right?
  14. great, thanks wade. and unfortanetly mvusse, thats the story every trip. you get about 4 out of every 20 that come through, its life.
  15. so wade, since i'm coming in so late, the office is usually closed, i may just pitch a tent by you guys if i see you.
  16. i used to know the park like the back of my hand 10 yrs ago, but its all changed. i like it though, they've done nice stuff with it. like when you go through the entrance, and down the hill where the quads and people park, there's a whole nother section to the right with trails and a gravel pit. back in my day you could only go left to the road to the dunes.
  17. the green trail runs the pipes. green is the one that runs through the river bed right. i do wanna do the orange trail, it seems to get skipped every time i go. -
  18. i thought wade was doing somer's. he's at the park now? i will leave friday afterwork, and with the time difference i will be at the camp around 9:30-10:00. edit: oops add an hour to that.
  19. i will go anywhere, so who's camping at the park? make sure you somer's guys find me before you hit the trails. black yj w/ a snorkel.
  20. We could tell you ... but then we'd have to kill you. Being a staunch conspiracy theorist, here's another thought that has occurred to me (yes, a thought ... they are rare, but they do occur): I hope all you are aware that the ECUs in new cars function much the same as the "black boxes" in commercial aircraft. If you are involved in a serious accident, the police can query the vehicle's "black box" to find out how fast you were traveling, whether or not the brakes were applied, and a few other tidbits of potentially interesting data. And, of course, the government is pushing to have the next generation of vehicle ECUs store and report even more data. Guess what? These so-called "clunkers" the .GOV is paying so lavishly to get rid of ENTIRELY are all old enough that their ECUs don't store and report that kind of data. That's just one reason why I intend to always keep an extra XJ and/or MJ around, as a replacement for if something happens to one I'm currently driving. Even if I have to keep putting Jasper engines in them, it's cheaper than buying a new car every few years at $30,000 a pop ... and I'll always have a bug-free vehicle to drive. I don't think it's entirely accidental that this program will "just happen" to eliminate thousands of "dumb" cars from the road, to be replaced by new vehicles that can be used to tattle on the driver. :agree: 1 million percent. that is 100% correct about new vehicle computers. ever heard of obd3, its in the works, and california is using a similar idea already i am told. your vehicles computer will be interfaced to satellite, under the allusion that is for emissions purposes. yes, you will recieve a message when your vehicle isn't passing emissions, and that politely worded message will tell you to go get your car fixed. i think it goes without saying what other info is in those daily transmissions of data, such as precise location, speed and so on. even without the ideas of global positioning without your consent, just the idea the government sending me a message to get my car fixed is all i need. i will never purchase a new vehicle. edit: on star is already a very small version. dealer's will be alerted if your check engine light is on, and they will send you an email, they will alredy know what the code is because it is already sent through on star. oh, and they will run a monthly diagnosis of the vehicle via on star. this was in my boss's new gm vehicle dvd when he bought a new car this year. i'm sure that sounds jim dandy to some people, not for me, leave me the F alone. It's official! Time for tinfoil hats! :help: do those work?? i'd like to buy your tinfoil hat. :rotfl2:
  21. In re-reading my post it kinda comes off like I'm blowing my own horn. Please be assured, that's not the case. In fact I didn't even offer a suggestion to your problem. I did read the post, but as I didn't have any better suggestions than the ones offered, so I didn't comment. (I really am glad you found it out.) My reason for commenting now, was just pointing out that many problems not immediately apparent as electrical/grounding issues, can be remedied with new/ better electrical grounds. CW naw, i didn't think it sounded that way, i was just being funny since most people post these threads then one of two things happens. 1- there is never a fix posted so its a mystery, or 2 they come on saying hey i got it, i figured it out, and it was something someone said a long time ago :D
  22. i shoved it back in the plastic tubing, i did use some regular old electrical tape to bundle them together at places. i'm always interested in learning something better, whats the right thing to use?
  23. yep, its cool to be right  everyone was a lot of help, and a couple people did say this could be it. anyone in my position would have had to retrace their steps though, its just so flipping coincidental. you always gotta go to where you just were when something goes wrong, 99 times out of 100 you did something. thanks again to everyone.
