  1. 1990 Pioneer MT. Is the MT meaning a Montana or mountain edition? Never heard of either.
  2. Is that a "rhymes with witch"-seat? :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: Just had to say that as I read it in a S.King book the other day. "The Dome"
  3. Both "Moonvisors" that I have, I bought used. Don't recall either one of them being sold as XJ or MJ specific. Now you got me wondering. Just ran outside, put my "Moonvisor" on the MJ and then the XJ for comparison. Besides the XJ having stiffening ribs in the roof, which doesn't affect mounting, I'd have to say no difference. You'll have to take my word on this, I would have posted pics, but I don't have any way to hold the visor and take a pic. I'm here by myself. Neither mock up XJ or MJ, seemed to produce weird angles or would look improper after installation.
  4. What does quote: "the frame literally went freakjeep" mean? is that a reference to our brother of the norths' cheese graters? :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:
  5. Quote: "I know I'll have to fab EVERYTHING for them to physically fit." That's pretty much your answer, any seats that you can physically fit and mount up in the cab is doable. If there was an easy common swap, besides XJ buckets I'm sure that would be a topic more often. Like the 8.8 swap from an Explorer. FWIW, I did see a thread where someone put a Dakota bench with fold down armrest in their MJ. looked pretty good. As far as the fab went, if you can do some minor fab work then these might work for you. Imports only? Money talks.......
  6. Kind of curious, how many MJs do you own either running or not. whole or part. Me I have two, an 87 SporTruck, and an 88 Chief. The 88 is a driver the 87 is not, it should be a driver someday soon (the 87).
  7. No extended yoke. I'm wanting to know if this yoke will insert into my AX-15. My plan is to have the DS modded for length if needed. Or I guess I'm wondering if my stock DS will work if I use this yoke. The truck has about 4" of lift (spring under). Four wheel drive, currently,BA-10 231. The donor tranny/TC are still together, so I'm good there.

With wheels? I'd say fair deal. Actually a pretty darn good deal.
  9. I'd tell them to call the sheriff, he can help them load it. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

I wouldn't give more than 30% of new.
  11. Is this the one I want? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT I don't believe I see any benefit to having one of the 8" ones. Actually an 8" one would cause a steeper DL angle on a lifted truck. Just wanting to know if this is the one I need. :dunno:
  12. I'll give that a try. haven't done it before, because it wasn't on the A- list. Kind of didn't want to do the jump out thing, when my e-brake don't work. Why fix it, it went to the turd, 8.8 cued up, getting ready for install with 4.10s. But when were back up and running, I'll give it a try.
  13. Yup, the diff end. Actually, what I'm saying is if the diff end came off and water got in............you know the deal.
  14. Looks like it "goes" right where you got it. Or anywhere else that you zip tie it to (keep it high out of the water). The white plastic thing is a vent cover, keeps crap out of the line. Just make sure that it is hooked at the Diff. kept high up, and youll be good to go. Did the other (diff) end come loose? Is there a possibility of fluid contamination?
  15. Good bumper does same job. Think cost of hitch Vs cost of good aftermarket bumper. Which you'll probably want in the future. Far as strength, if the front bumper and the bulkhead behind are intact? why? IMHO, If I wanted "beef", I'd buy it once with an aftermarket bumper with/without a winch or receiver.
  16. What's a PITA? Converting to 4wd, or converting a 2wd trans into a 4wd trans? With everything ready to go beforehand, a 4wd swap can easily be done in 2-3 days with a little help. Isn't a PITA a bread pocket or something? Or an organization that helps aminals?
  17. I wish I could say TPS, but I did adjust it with a multimeter, still same problem. Another thing I was going to try was to swap the TB with another known good one. Kind of funny how starting/stopping would make it Idle right. Or the fact that the only way I can replicate the problem is to "dog it" (the truck). :dunno:
  18. Kind of the direction I plan on taking, but probably be replacing the intake/exhaust gasket while I'm at it.
  19. The trackbar centers the axle. If the tire rubs on the left CA, sounds like the axle needs to be moved over to the left some. Disconnect the bar at the adjustment end and shorten it till the axle is centered. On my 88 the engine revs like that on occasion. Sometimes I shut it down, wait a few seconds and restart. Sometimes the high revs stop this way, other times I have to do it a few times. Things Ive done to try and fix it. Cleaned and adjusted the TPS and IAC motor. Replaced the IAC motor, still does it on occasion. Seems to do it more often if I'm wheelin and I'm making the engine work hard. My next direction is to possibly replace the throttle body with one out of my XJ donor. Another possible culprit I've read about is a vacuum leak either through the brake booster (mine is OK) or the intake might have a leak, found with a tach and a spray bottle of water. Sometime this summer I'm gonna retorque or replace the intake gasket. I also read that my O sensor could be the cause of the problem, I haven't tried this yet. Tell the truth I've been "living with it", hopefully someday I'll get it sorted out.
  20. Yup! Although in my friends truck his slider doesn't use a "gasket", the metal frame of the slider backwindow takes the space where a gasket should go (looks like a gasket is in there). If you do this Remember to save the old gasket, safeguard it. Besides, the rubber gasket isn't really the seal, the urethane sealant is. The gasket is really more of a garnish as seen by my friends truck wich doesn't use a gasket.
  21. I seen that, I wasn't sure about using a lever from a WJ with our older style consoles. don't know if it will work.
  22. Haven't got the hand brake hooked up in either of my trucks yet. I'm still looking (not very hard) on how to make the handbrake work in my MJs that both came with bench seats. On one truck, the lever is mounted just haven't hooked it up yet. This will get done when I finish the 8.8s on both trucks. Someday
  23. Paradise, is that the bracket bucket seats would use to have the handbrake work between the seats? or does anyone have a pic of how they hooked up their handbrake in a truck that originally came with the footbrake? If JRB COMANCHE doesn't want those brake parts, I might be interested, if they might help me get my handbrake hooked up.
  24. :hijack: What about the e-brake assy on a MJ with buckets? I know the handle is the same as an XJ, but aren't the linkages after the handle for an MJ different?
