Thats a great thread thanks, it locked me out after a few pages so I will have to sign up. I did dive in today on my first rocker on the XJ it was one of classic to current panels from ebay. I did have to do some fitting and after I drilled all the welds out realized with this panel that was not needed. I think this panel would have went on over top the old but I cut all the rusted one out anyway. My buddys coming up with his welder friday to finish it part of the backing plate is gone also he says we will make a patch for it. My MJ is next they are not near as bad so I hope the backing panels are still good. I will try a write up on when I do the MJ. It is a great feeling knowing I saved $50.00 a hour.

WOW and I thought $3000.00 for a rusty xj was high.

Will be watching this thread as you just said what I have been saying for a few weeks. I have watched some body work being done and helped prep before. My Pap was a body man way back I have all his equipment just sitting. I got some quotes on body work and it just way out of line. Just had floors in the XJ done they were really bad $500.00 and IMO the works not that great same guy just patched some very light rust on the rocker and painted $400.00 more. I am borrowing or buying a gas mig and starting on my rockers this week on the other XJ if it goes well the MJ is next.

No, it has a dent near the top that has some old bondo chipping and some rust along the bottom its on the truck right now and I use it all the time it does have a little bend overall like something to heavy was on it one time. I will get some pics of it.

I just ordered a better one after it gets here I will decide which one is better my old one or the new one and sell you one of them.

Guy in the Cherokee was most likely checking out the Comanche and lost control.

Try to find someone local to refinish them talk to some body shops for ideas.

Thanks guys, I believe I will try it also maybe even a write up (it would be the first). I had this done before and it was almost $300.00 at the shop I just can't see spending that kinda money when I can do it myself. I have a torque wrench so I am good to go.

I did my u Joints on my front axle on the 98XJ now I have a leaking inner seal. I can't find any how to on this I know its a big job but just how hard is it?

I am running 30`s on my non lifted MJ with lower WJ control arms on American Racing 8" outlaws that were bought for a ford ranger and they stick out past the flares and throw allot of crap on the sides of the truck. I need wheels that will tuck back under the truck and they say that factory wheels from A XJ will tuck back under with less spacing. I have a good deal lined up on factory WJ wheels and wanted to know if they will solve this.

Do factory Wrangler wheels have the same backspace as factory MJ wheels?

I just got the floor pans for mine same ones you have. Did you use a wire welder with gas or without? I bought a cheap flux one and it keeps burning thru thin stuff I hope it will do my floors if not I am going to go get a gas one.
