  2. Very nice looking truck! You will not need a rear axle as long as the gear ratio matches the front axle you put in it.
  3. Drop the rear drive shaft theres lots room just be warned. Be careful don't brake it or you may have no gauge as these are VERY hard to find.

Just missed a new in the box m-p 15 smith on a local classified for $700.00 he was going to meet in the morning the he emailed and said he sold it tonight. Bastard! A local shop had a Oracle for $650.00 late today must have been used I was trying to find one without the paper trail. Guy has a mini 14 for $575.00 hes about 3 hours away and in the snow belt where there calling for 12" in the next 2 days to far to drive in bad weather. Might just run around local saturday and see whats out there and get some ammo. I checked gunbroker and 223 ammo and its selling for around $1.00 a round yes selling cases of 1000 one after another.

  13. I think may try it I am really new to welding but do have the equipment and a friend that can weld better than I he has a week off after Christmas. Cutting the seam off is a good idea I may get under it this week and start grinding cutting get some measurements and get to the fab shop. I have nothing to lose a good friend of mine will inspect it no problem as long as its fixed. The steel shop I use is pretty cheap not sure what thickness steel any ideas? I just put about $600.00 in this and never noticed the frame. Hoping to get another year out of it or find a rust free high mile cheap XJ next summer to put the drive line in.
  14. I was thinking a complete "U" But since these come in pairs I should be able to weld both halfs on one side to make the "u". I like the fact these have the angles and go up into the wheel wells. These will most likely be on the list if my local fab shop can't come up with something.
  15. Thanks great info and after I read to the end there only 100.00 now instead of 150.00.
  16. Anyone have any frame repair pics ideas etc this is on a XJ since the MJ is close I thought I would post here. My XJ under the door on the drivers side is really bad on the inside and bottom the outside of the channel is still ok. I was thinking of having a local steel fab shop make a whole channel that would just slip over the bad section since its on a straight area about 2' I think I could go 3' to get some good metal to weld to.
  17. IS the plate something you made or bought?
  18. Does anyone know whats involved in putting a 98 4.0 engine in a 2001 xj. Whats the differances in electronics etc.

  20. I paid around $40.00 for the pair used some one on here that used to sell allot of parts a few years back. I just used a angle grinder to make mine fit. I had bookmarked a how to but it got lost with the change to the new club.
