  1. Call a local notary and ask them most likely they have been through it before.
  2. On my 00 I have the shield and have wrapped just the injector and still have it bad. Then I went to hood vents and new injectors did help but still have it some. I just bought a 01 with 85,000 miles with a badly cooked engine the head was cracked the cylinder wall had aluminum melted to it. A older guy owned it and drove way to long overheated. Its for the wife and I want to try to rid the heat soak for good. I thought about taking the pre cats out thought it would run cooler. While its out I will wrap the whole header and order the new recall parts. Will clogged cats ad to this problem?
  3. Looking for some one who has had to deal with the hoat soak issues on the 00-01 Cherokee sports. I know it comes from the pre cats anyone willing to talk about how the "fixed" the pre cat issue. PM or email is fine if you don't want to post here.

  16. The diameter of the hole for the lock cylinder is either larger or smaller( I can't remember) on the newer doors.
  17. Bore is not pitted has a very light discoloration to it. We cleaned it out and dried it and put heavy oil on it last year when we put it away.
  18. That`s what has me concerned about the kits who knows what there putting in and I am the type who insists on USA made parts.
  19. I was not thinking when I posted its going in the 2000xj its a 96 engine only had about 70,000 on it however the guy I bought it from left it out side under a tarp for a couple years and some water got in one cylinder. The engine in the 2000 has 210,000 on it sounds like a diesel when you start it I overheated it (BAD) when the head cracked there was no water in it at all when we got it towed home. I have ran it for a about a year now all we did was put the 96 head on nothing else and still runs good but is getting quite loud uses and leaks oil. I could most likely just throw it in a run it and be okay. I just want to hone the cylnders and put new rings in so might as well do the bearings. I am not doing a complete rebuild unless something inside looks bad.
  20. I am looking at rering kits online for a 4.0 theres so many choices. Anywhere from 150.00 to 300.00 or so. This is for the 2000 cherokee daily driver no racing off roading etc. Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks
