  1. Well just got in, and I got some work done tonight. Cleaned up the shop a little bit and added some insulation, :ack: Then I dropped the gas tank and started to cut out the floors. Go the front section done, now need to measure up so things and make sure how I'm going to raise the gas tank in the rear up into the frame and mount it on the floor. I'm thinking I'll end up doing something of this sort here and perhaps something like this for some sort of skid . Then I'll build a rack to go over it to haul gear. So that's about it of what I got done tonight. Mess with the rear some more tomorrow night. Off to bed now :shake:
  2. YOu going to @#$%ing do something then @#$%ing do it right the first damn time. Been saying that on the last two rigs, god damn it going to do it this time. I already lost some time other misc things, so I'm not going to lose my rear coil set up. I'm @#$%ing doing it. I want to turn my XJ into something like this inspiration. Got a lead on a set of rear brackets that are from RockKrawler, who puts out the front and rear long arm coil set up like this... same long arm I had on my last jeep and what I'm basing this build off of , and thus making everything myself or ordering the brackets from Ballistic will cut the cost way down, coil mounts for the rear , rear link axle mount setup and can be custom. But the thing I was having problems with was the frame brackets for the rear and that was what was leading me to just settling for the leafs, but @#$% that wasted money, and time can just be the same if I get these, the rear bracket needed to set the triangulated 4 link setup , and bolt these on and set up the rear off these, will take allot of guess work out of it, especially being at my place. Then I have always been partial to rod ends, I have just always liked them. So undecided on what to use either these, BTF Flex joint , Ballistic Premium Rod ends , (costly there), MWC Rod ends , cheaper but I ran there stuff with my steering set up and I was pleased all around with them and their stuff, or there's these, Summitmachine Flex-joints. So that's where I'm at right now and why thing are kinda at a stand still.
  3. Got my Ruff stuff diff cover today thanks to Monkeyevil. Good thing to cause I going to need all the protection I can get. :shake: http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/cat ... -p-86.html
  4. shoot you got that here in MI. :rotfl2:
  5. the new plan though, in hopes to make it to the Badlands first weekend of March to wheel with my lover, is to run leafs out back and get things squared away with the long arms and axle swap up front and the doubler, then add the coils later on, $#!& I might even like the leafs yet out back, no problems with them before, just never had the boomerang shackles in which I should of had.
  6. finish ripping out the interior
  7. well finished ripping out everything on the inside as I need to do some touch up to the floors, and going to be putting in a cage so need it all out anyways. And after breaking 3 torx bits I took out the old carpenter knife and cut out the seat belts. Forget it I'm going with harness belts now. First pic is of my new place, and I had to makeshift a place to keep the jeep for the winter, and as you can see where I added on. My helper waiting for me to come back out. :shake:
