  1. Plan to run it! Lol Na, hight steer cross over steering, coils or coilovers in front, long arm, keeping 4.10s for now as be picking up a 14bolt for the rear and no longer going to 4 link the rear just going to pick up a new set of metric ton leafs. And be swapping in the ax15 as well so geaing should be alright for now but if sits long enough then just regear everything to 4.88s and plan on 40s again.
  2. let the fun begin... with my new kingpin! :}
  3. Being parked this weekend for much needed upgrades. :D swapping out the 44 front for a 60 to start and maybe a little paint as well.
  4. Sorry, thought we was passed technical terms in means of Frame, yes we all know as MJ or Xj owners know we have a unibody frame, so let's not make something more complicated. I was referring to the front being that was where the question was directed, yes naturally you are going to want to reinforce any mounting area to help in aide to stresses to the rig itself. Do some reading and go from there..... http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/jeep-cherokee/720309-totm-unibody-front-leaf-spring-conversions.html
  5. Front leaf with shackles in the front is simple, why people go this route as I did. Rear mount for leaf use factory lca mount then use about a standred 5" shackle in the front and adjust from there. If want to go shackles in rear you would want to french them into the frame to get your desired result. But keeping in mind that must provide room for the shackle to swaing back as the leafs flatten out. This approuch involves more fab work, clearly. And also with 10" lift Id suggest a trac bar and brace as steering willbe grappy with no hgydro assigt at least.
  6. Yeah I heard it was closed. Issues there were I guess. I do miss AL and would love to get back down they way again.
  7. Thanks man. Have you dined ever at one of Butterbeans restuarants? :D
  8. Looks like Ill be swapping out the front 44 for a 60 same time I do the trans swap! :woot:
  9. Thanks. Watch for a better stance as I made a deal to swap out the 44 for a Ford 60 so looks like Ill be going back to 40s. :D
  10. Looks good. Like that way those turned out. Would have several less dents on my bed rails if had a set of those. Lol
  11. Lol I have same feeling when woman takes my rig. She loves the looks and whristles she gets when diving it with the doors off. Lol But by chance do you have a rough idea and weight of your rig, packed for trail that is.?
  12. Thanks guys! Truly a honor to be considered for Comanche of the month, but I would like to give a big thanks to everyone on CC as it is this site that I have learned the most and got most my inspiration from. So thanks again guys and gals. :D
  13. paying $3.67g for unleaded
  14. You can look through my build thread as did this a few times. Really simple once you gget to messing with it. Seems more complicted at first. But just get yourself a welders angle finder magnet one and couple jack stands and one stand to put under your yoke to hold in place once find good pinion angle. Then set perches on axle tube and set them level and to the proper width. Look up t&t ube install in writeups as well..
  15. Sweet cause I was just going to look into running a different lube in mine before installed the ax-15 so will get to walmart for same stuff. Thanks.
  16. Thanks man. Best to find a 44 with flat top knuckles, other wise you can pick some up typically for like $75 for a pair. But if do get an axle with flat top then you will have to have it machined to accept a hy steer arm which will allow drag link mounting. Now depending on setup u may or may not need a spacer between the arm and knuckle, but all that is a dependent on what configuration you end up working with. Now just keep in mind that you will be stepping into a new money bracket with a 44 vs 30, but people are here to remind you to make a plan of what you want to do, how big you want to go and to spend money wisely. No sense in wasting your money on something your going to replace soon after. Also less work involved.
  17. Talking center pin? U would flip it or cut bolt. Which was another nice thing is the placement on the ube allows you to move axle back or forward an 1". And the holes allow for a bigger center pin as well. Miss the 2 dr xjbronco, lol had a great time with it in Alabama.
  18. Have you looked into Trail Worthy Fab H1s?
  19. Good deal man, did a fine job.com and glad to see you kept it around as it must have been meant to. :D now on to tech questions perhaps you could enlighten me on those two wires as well be swaping in my ax-15 shortly and perhaps save me a simular headache shearching for it. Thanks man.
  20. Typically tracs bars are listed for up to 3" are stock height to 3". As you can install a 3 " lift and still use stock trac bar with no issues per a good trac bar yet that is.
  21. UBE for the win! If check out my build have a well detailed install of a set of 1.5" UBe and I loved them. And wishing I still had them on my rear 60 now. I have had 2 sets of ubolts stretch on me more due to pavement pounding with a welded rear. The UBE are stronger I think and the mount itself acts as a reinforecement against axle wrap and added plate allows to mount a bumpstop easy enough. And with grade 8 bolts holding it together service to the rear is quicker and easier. Also the added benefit of being able to add up to a 1.5" lift is awesome
  22. I ran up to 40's on my 4 corner leaf set up and around 7" of lift with ford 44/60 axles and 3.5" lift yj leafs in the front and stock MJ leafs in back with 1.5" lift shackles in the rear. I'm trimmed more then needed but not so much that I still cat run factory flairs. As long as you set up your bumpstops properly you can manage the tire size with minor trimming. Keep in mind the general rule that lower and wider is better for stability. So the taller you go the wider you should go as a general rule of thumb. Good luck with it
  23. Typically most people do a leaf spring setup in front when installing a 44 or 60, which is when the hysteer crossover setup comes in to handle the steering issues. Tell me why your doing this with a d30? Just to go 8"? Why you going that big to run what size tires? If that big assuming 36"+ and so you have a built 30 or plan to upgrade? But to get back to steering. Your steering issues you can get tera knuckle hysteer setup or reid racingt has a hysteer knuckle for the 30 as well. Also otr has a u style bracket for the stock knockle for crossoveer steering but not sure that be high enought to clear for the springs.
  24. Picked up new transplant for rig today can't wait to get it installed. :D
