  1. began a new subforum for businesses to put up their stuff for sale and discounts for you guys/gals. figured it'd be more organized this way. I've moved a couple threads over there, but I'm not about to hunt down every single one. so if the vendors could repost their threads (or at least give me the addy of their previous thread so I can move it), that'd be awesome. thanks. I don't want this to get all crazy, but any and all are welcome to post up in there if they work for a company that has anything even remotely associated with jeeps or such. and as always, neither I nor the comancheclub have any monetary connection to any vendor.
  2. Did the XJ have an AX-15? need to see the other side of the crossmember.
  3. can you post pics of what you're seeing? are they AX-15 crossmembers?
  4. if it overheats when going slow, it sounds like the fan isn't pulling enough air. is your fan shroud intact? how old is the radiator? 180 is actually pretty low temp for a closed system 4.0L. 200-210 is more typical for a normal operating temp.
  5. did you include me in the initial batch?
  6. the peugeot trans was used behind the 4.0l in 87-89.5
  7. all I am is a peacemaker trying to find a balance. the topics aren't banned, but getting controversial topic after controversial topic is just too much angst for the atmosphere that most members have come to expect. compare it to hanging with the guys at the bar or in the garage. the occasional heated debate is fine, but a barrage of them just sucks the fun outta the room.
  8. you must host the photo somewhere on the internet first. photobucket, facebook, picturetrail, pick a site with free hosting, load them there, then you can bring their new address here. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11077
  9. were you driving the 231 in 4wd on pavement?

snow tires are AWESOME!!!!! in the snow, rain, whatever. I'll never go another winter without. :D (though next winter i hope to have them under an MJ, not the minivan. lol)
  11. it adjusts airflow when the throttlebody is closed to maintain a consistent idle speed.
  12. that's a tough call. re-gearing is so expensive that it's hard to justify doing it. but a deeper gear will certainly help the truck get back its power.
  13. that's a poor place to put the weight anyway. it's better that it be directly over the rear tires.
  14. it is certainly possible for either the master or slave to fail internally where the fluid escapes past the plunger and won't build pressure.
  15. car-part.com can help with finding a replacement. Can't hurt anything to clean it our with a degreaser and refill with oil. I wouldn't use it very long, but it'll still work. (might be loud though)
  16. I would start with the free stuff. clean the TB and IAC with a throttle body cleaner (meaning O2 sensor safe) and an old toothbrush.
  17. shouldn't a 92 throw the check engine light if the o2 sensor is failing? :dunno:
  18. yup.
  19. tried hitting the starter with a hammer? :wrench: if that doesn't work, I would take the starter to autozone to get checked out.
  20. went to the junkyard and picked up a couple TPS's, an EGR and a MAF and it turned out the MAF was the problem. :wrench: (out of about 12 cars, only one still had a MAF in it)
  21. club cards are totally and completely free. all I need is an address.
  22. do you not have club cards to leave?
