it's not hard at all to put a sticker on the window. pop out gps, fold down arm, done. your mileage may vary depending on the mount you have.

still undecided about the lens protectors

could be air trapped in the system, could be that your coolant pressure tank can't hold pressure anymore and is popping. For air pockets I've found the best bleed procedure is to point the nose of the truck downhill and bleed through the coolant sensor at the back/top of the block. fire up the engine, turn the sensor slowly until air hisses out. never do this when the engine is hot and wear eye protection because coolant can spray out. for and old pressure tank and cap, replacements are available and not much money through your local parts store or online. or you can convert to the later style with an open system. should be a thread on doing that in the link in my sig (it requires a new radiator with a radiator cap).

we've all got heating pads in our beds (even the cat ). I'll probably drop it down to 60 tonight. nothing too crazy. then let the chips fall where they may. although... the trailer has a propane furnace... I could be sleeping like a king!

dipping into the teens in GA, possibly for the next 3 nights. I know it's not exactly record setting for northerners, but our main source of heat in this house is the heat pump and that struggles mightily in the freezing temps. the emergency heat is a giant electric burner in the furnace and using that is like setting fire to a pile of money. hopefully by next winter we'll have the sunroom finished and have a working wood stove.

lights are kinda wired in (just to the switch/relay that previously powered the 20" bar) and I love them! they have a wide spread and illuminate the area around the front of the Jeep quite well. just what I was looking for. (the future roof lights will point down the road) yesterday I also modified the side panel to accommodate the switches. drilled 1" holes for the switches to fit through and had to whittle out some of the "structure" of the dash behind it to make room for future wiring. as it is right now I don't have need of all 5 so the switch on the far right is to be a master switch. I don't want to accidentally blind people with 400watts of roof lights. also shown is the GPS's home. the suction cup long ago died so I just screwed the mount to the dash. I can't hide that cable just yet because the GPS gets used in more than one vehicle and that cord is the antenna for traffic info.

is yours falling apart or just dirty? nothing fits as well as factory and some guys have had great success taking the carpet out and burning through some quarters are the DIY car wash.

4.0+auto = 3.55 from the factory (both 4wd and 2wd). it's easy to check by jacking up one rear tire (trans in neutral) and spin the tire around exactly *twice* while counting the number of times the driveshaft rotates. it the driveshaft rotates about 3 and a half times, it'll be 3.55. If it spins a tic over 4 times it'll mean 4.10s. etc. a basic 4wd conversion needs a 4wd trans with appropriate t-case, 4wd shifter bracets and handle, front axle and driveshafts. Typically you can buy a whole XJ and get those parts cheaper than a junkyard, but a lot depends on the yards near you and the end goal of your build. it's common practice these days to buy up a whole newer XJ and do a more thorough swap for more modern electronics. up to 96 will make use of your stock dash, 97+ will need even more work to fit the newer style dash. also, be sure to add in your truck's specs into your signature.
