Or you can just take the CAD cover off, slide the collor over to the "lock" position, and then re-install the cover upside-down. Haven't tried it yet myself, but it's gotta be the easiest fix out there. :D Jeep on! --Pete

I have 180# and I love them. Unfortunately, I haven't a clue how much lift I actually got and have even less of a clue if I lost anything over the last 2 years. It's not something I've really paid attention to since the truck is pretty level front to back. If you have a heavy bumper, I think they should have sent you the 180s.

Cabz, what spring rating did you get?

Change in plans, needs to be looked over.

I would get a long AAL. They aren't that much money. Don't forget that any change in front height will throw the alignment off. -
I can make it into just about anything, but the longer it is, the smaller the truck becomes on the magnet because we're already maxed out on width. Later on I should easily be able to customize the logo for use online or maybe even vinyl stickers, but not until the semester is over. Jeep on! --Pete

I know I read something sorta negative about using the dodge axles a while back on another 4x4 site, but for the life of me I can't remember what the reasons were. :( There's gotta be a reason they aren't very popular.

I can't argue against using the RE kit. They make high quality stuff and if you can afford it, I'm certain you'll be happy. :D I went with 33s on my 88 rather than 35s because 33s fit better, are easier on the drivetrain, and work well with 4.10s. Don't forget to upgrade the shafts/Ujoints in the Dana 30 to the later model XJ units that use Dana 44 sized joints and delete the CAD. Also, if you go with 4.10s, it may be cheaper to get a 4.10 geared Dana 30 form the junkyard than to have yours regeared. Get one from a 96+ and get both the 4.10s and big joints in one purchase! :D (the big joints are found earlier than that in XJs that have ABS, but few 2.5Ls were paired with ABS and 2.5L are where you find the 4.10 gears). What will be your trail-to-highway ratio? What types of terrain do you visit? And you might want to research the AX-15 conversion. Jeep on! --Pete

Just to see what happens, I added a slight background color to eliminate the white. Jeep on! --Pete

I had a rollbar in one of my renditions, I think I'll put it back in. Keep in mind that it's the intensity that I was after when I choose red. If I was printing an actual business card, I'd definitely do it differently. I'm still screwing around with it though. Jeep on! --Pete

It's perfectly clean in the Bitmap, but all my photo programs make it fuzzy when they convert to Jpegs (and picturetrail.com will automatically convert to Jpeg if you try to upload a bitmap) . Needless to say, the graphics guy will be getting the bitmap. :) Jeep on! --Pete

The fuzziness of the pic doesn't help anything either. :( Jeep on! --Pete

I made some compromises between what looked good on the MJ, and what I thought would have more visual pop on what equates to a business card stuck to the back the truck in front of you at a stop light. 8) But nothings set in stone yet. Jeep on! --Pete

This isn't meant to be a vinyl sticker, but rather a magnetic business card that members can throw on their truck or leave on another MJ they see in a parking lot. Later on we can work out a more interesting logos for stickers. I thickened the tires a bit and added color to the truck. I went with red because it stands out. I was contemplating yellow, but the red contrasts better with the white background. The image is still fuzzy due to the process by which I upload them to the web, but the end magnet should be sharp and clear. We had some good suggestions in the other post and I wanted to get some final opinions before I send it to the graphics shop down the street. There will be some empty space near the bottom where we can add some text. I added "All Jeep Comanche, All the Time" since I use the phrase a lot. If anyone has any other ideas lemme know. It has to be short and sweet or else it won't be very legible. As far as the internet images go, it's not hard to change the color of the truck if anyone wants their own image to match their truck (within the scope of Microsoft Paint's powers) for use online, I can do that later. But the magnetic cards will all be identical or else it costs too much. Jeep on! --Pete

Were you driving it in 4wd on the pavement? Any rust on the underbody? specifically near the t-case shifter linkage? Did you just try 4wd HI? Or 4wd LO too? Jeep on! --Pete

Personnally I don't consider the waggy front end to be all that much better than a Dana 30 with 297 joints. It's plenty of work to swap one in just to get the same joints and a low pinon. And I wouldn't think too hard about the Toy rear unless I was swapping the front to match the rim pattern. Even if the axle was totally free I'd just resell it to help pay for a better axle. I found a junkyard kinda-near me selling Ford 8.8s for $100. Jeep on! --Pete

As good as the deal might seem, personally I'd still just hold out for a Ford 8.8 and only have to do the work once. Jeep on! --Pete

Coil Spring Spacer Price High?

Or lying because they are sneaky bastards trying to rip you off... Jeep on! --Pete -
What's the wheel bolt pattern on that particular Toy axle? Jeep on! --Pete

I recommend an MJ. :D Jeep on! --Pete

I believe that longbed shocks are in front of the axle and shortbeds are behind. Jeep on! --Pete

Looks to me like there's an extra leaf added right below the main leaf. Jeep on! --Pete

Metric tonnes have 4+1. All others have 3+1. But plenty can happen over 20 years in the way of alterations. What axle is under the 86? Jeep on! --Pete
-
4wd leaf packs do have about an inch more lift than 2wd models. Also, if you didn't already know, the XJ leaf perches are different width apart, so you can't just get an XJ axle (which are SOA) and bolt it up. Jeep on! --Pete

I gotta imagine that cold rain hitting the back of my neck would get old after a while too. Jeep on! --Pete
