  1. I bought a black carpet cover for my dash. :D My brain says that I have a grey one in the garage somewhere... :brows:
  2. :rotfl2: :laughin: :teehee: :clapping: :rotf: I'll have 2 shafts left over from my 35 (worth more to me as parts than it is to anyone else whole) and one will be kept as a spare for other Jeepers (I'm not taking it on the trail though, it'll be left at camp) the other will be used for a tire mount in my 90. :brows:
  3. OEM brakes? :hmm: I went to the local auto parts store with the fittings I recovered from the MJ and some measurements and just bought pre-made straight tubing with the ends attached. Get the right pieces and a simple bender and bam, all new lines! :D You'll need 2 or 3 lengths put together to reach all the way to the back (even if that's not the line that burst, it's a common failure point due to rust next to the gas tank). Now is a great time to delete the rear prop valve too. :brows:
  4. Can we get a "suggested" price on items? Yes, money is tight, but I'd like to make sure I at least cover your cost on my request. It's sorta hard to do that. For example, the 40" inside-the-windshield decals cost me $5 each, while 30" ones were practically free and the other 40" ones were literally free. The per-item price of the other stuff is pretty low, but the minimum order crap makes it expensive to me. But right now I'm just trying to give the people what they want: a way to show pride in the club and a way to help out with expenses. I'm not looking to bring in tons of money here. I've got over $250 sunk into the stickers/decals/magnets, not to mention the annual fees for the site. I figure that it'll take a while before I break even, so I'm not worried how fast I get there. :D
  5. There wasn't any ventilation in that one, but the current edition has one tube in and one tube out. The filter is at the end of the vent tubes for the 2 axles and t-case. I'd do the trans too, but I was afraid I'd snap the little plastic cap off so I figured if the water line got that high I had bigger things to worry about. :D
  6. I ran a big old split wire loom along the back for all my extra wires. I put screws through it to the truck rather than securing it with a bunch of zip ties so it was easier to add wires later on. And no, I don't use that bottle to catch the blowby oil anymore. It was too small so I stepped up to a gallon jug. :D
  7. Smart man. :D
  8. What are you doing for gears? Stock gears and 33s suck.
  9. Hey, the one thing I needed on my 3000 mile trip out west was a water pump, and I didn't have it. :(
  10. Bed? I don't have a bed, but I do have strorage for camping/wheeling gear. :D
  11. I'll trade ya for a rusty one! :D
  12. Some welding required... :D
  13. Personally I like Chiltons better, just I haven't seen any for sale near me for years. Every store has the Haynes manuals though. 87-90 the trucks are very, very similar and if you find a deal on any of those years I'd snatch it up.
  14. I recommend a Haynes shop manual if you don't have one yet.

    I SOLD IT

Don't worry, it's only a matter of time before you see an MJ for sale on the side of the road and stop to look. :D Besides, you don't need to own one to be here.
  16. I have the following items available almost any time. To order, just send me a PM with your name/address, what you would like, and if you're paying with paypal or a MO/etc through snail mail. (Custom colors for the white vinyl decals are technically possible with some limits. Send me a PM and I'll see what I can do.) new tribute stickers for Don (horndrod) and Pete (cruiser54). roughly 6" long price: free 40" long "ComancheClub.com" windshield decals in white (applies to the INSIDE of the windshield to avoid being destroyed by the wipers) price: donation 12" long "ComancheClub.com" decals in white (applies to the outside of a surface). your choice of the bubble outline or standard letters price: donation 10" long "Logo" decal. price: donation business card sized magnets for yourself or for handing out to MJ owners you meet. price: free How to order: send me a message with an address and list of what you want. I can accept payment trough paypal, venmo, cashapp or good ol' snail mail. all donations go towards our website bills. --------------------------------------------------------- How to apply: The best way I've found for mounting the 12" decals is to clean the surface thoroughly. Then place it where you want and make sure it's level (do NOT assume that the bottom of the paper is parallel with the letters!) Then tape it above and below the center with masking tape. the pull up one side and peel back the backing. Tear it off and slowly push the decal down, making sure to push out any bubbles with your thumb. Now half of the decal is adhered and you can remove the masking tape and do the same for the rest. Best method for the stickers: Clean the surface thoroughly. Then soak the surface with glass cleaner. Remove the backing and apply the sticker to the wet surface. Move the sticker where you want it and then dry the area directly above and below the sticker. Use some masking tape in this area to keep the sticker from moving around. Now use your thumb to push the liquid and bubbles out to the sides. You can probably leave the tape in position until the sticker dries and adheres, but I just removed it carefully so the sticker doesn't move around. Best method for the big decals: Don't know yet. I haven't tried one and won't be able to until Sunday. I imagine the "wet" application method might be beneficial since then you can go out front and see if it looks centered and level and make changes to the placement.
  17. I too have to replace all of the front brake parts (even though I have 2 complete axles to choose from), but I find it much less painful than when I replace other parts. All new brakes are an infinitely good thing. :D
  18. 119 vs what? 107? And it weighs more too. Every little bit counts. The idea of a towing MJ is intreguing, but yeah, you'd have to be real committed to it. Don't forget to upgrade to a dual diaphram booster. Oh, and a longbed MJ is 119. I flat-towed my MJ with a Durango last fall and there was still a lot of wiggling. Just less than with the Libby. Flat towing sucks, but a 2000 lb trailer would probably put the weight of my junk to almost 7000 lbs. And that's a lot of weight. :( I can't wait til my buddy buys that diesel Ford he's been dreaming of. :D
  19. 30s should fit better with the aftermarket rims. 31s should fit with stock-type rims.
  20. The Durango has a longer wheelbase than the ZJ.
  21. You've got TWO MJs with manual steering? Do you seek them out?
  22. He means photObucket.com with another "O" in it. :D I use picturetrail.com and there are others out there. Just upload your pics, copy the address of the pic, paste it here surrounded by and you're golden!
  23. You won't need a drop pitman for only 4". In fact, adding it can actually make bump-steer worse.
  24. $80!!! Holy cow! Is it really that much better than the $10 XJ fans from the junkyard?
  25. I towed my MJ with a diesel KJ and, while accelerating was a piece of cake for the diesel, braking was iffy and it always felt like the wiggling on the freeway was one or two oscillations away from disaster. The advanced traction/stability control was a huge help, as was the awd t-case.
