  1. I've not been there personally, but I've seen pictures of haspin and know that some members here have been there and loved it. Also, if you start a new thread about it in the Pub, I'm sure you'll get more opinions. :D
  2. Right about halfway between the master and slave (my TJ line was cut by the junkyard).
  3. The sensor on top of the bellhousing...is that the CPS? Doesn't it read the gaps in the flywheel? If my memory serves me correctly, the gaps seemed different between the 94 XJ flywheel and the 90 MJ flywheel in my case. I'll assume it has to do with Renix v/s AMC? In either case, I reinstalled the MJ flywheel just to be safe. Am I way off here? Yes, you are correct. That is the crankshaft position sensor and you must keep the Renix flywheel and Renix CPS with the Renix computer. Both the outer and inner pilot bearing/bushing diameters changed between the Renix years and the TJ years. I used the CJ pilot bushing and it works out just perfect. :D
  4. I remember reading that AA had some special headers for the conversion. But if stock will work, then it's all good. :D
  5. Have you looked at the advanceadapters site yet? IT's been a long time since I even thought about the swap, but I seem to remember that the exhaust manifolds were an issue. :dunno:
  6. yes, it could be. The track bar centers the axle left to right. If any part of that bar or its bracket are sloppy, it could result in both issues you're experiencing.
  7. Ah, yes. Back in the day. :D Anyone else break something?
  8. and they are 2.5" wide.
  9. I say swap it in! :D But then I have a sucker for tough projects. But before you do, go look at the advanceadapters.com or novak engineering websites. They'll have what you need to do it right, and it might not be cheap. :(
  10. Oh well.
  11. If you can safely stretch the frame (or whatever it would take), than stock MJ leafs should give a pretty decent lift on an XJ. I'd guess in the neighborhood of 4-5", but that's just a guess. Could be as high as 6 if the leafs are 4x4 versions and in good shape.
  12. My best guess is cheap guts in the orange tops. Might be a design flaw or quality control issues or a combo of the three. I had one collapse on my and leave me with 0 oil pressure(in the middle of a 10 hour drive no less). :fs1: :fs1: :fs1:
  13. I love the classic 4x4 decals. Just sweet. :D
  14. CW recently fixed a similar rust issue. Hopefully I'm pasting the correct page: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1230&start=375
  15. interesting. Technically, both front tires should stick out a little bit. The MJ is wider in the bed area than the front. Have you had someone saw the wheel back and forth while you watched the frontend? Check for play in the bushing on the other end of the trackbar, as well as movement of the trackbar bracket relative to the frame, and also look for a crack in the frame between the steering gear and the trackbar bracket.

    Roll Call!

Pete Montie I've got family and even an MJ (er, most of one anyway) in Loganville, GA so I figure I might as well post up. :D
  17. I was almost game. :( But I didn't get to come down with the parents this trip (they left today). The next planned trip to GA for me is Octoberfest weekend. Shelby, do you still have that front towbar setup for me? I've gotta find a way to get that from you. :( I wonder if my bro-in-law heads up that way sometimes (he drives all over the place for his new job). Or maybe I can convince my dad to swing by your place on the return trip (in a couple weeks). Logistics are just that much harder from 700 miles away. :shake:
  18. I believe it was the "Clinton, On" in his post that was the important part. :D Otherwise, yes you are correct that OH is ohio.
  19. I'll just post up a random picture of me at the Badlands from 4 years back and pretend that I got to go with you guys. :( :D
  20. What's a "7" spring perch"? Where did you see that written?
  21. My almost-MJ-number-5 fizzled out the same way. I hate idiots who don't know how to answer the dang phones or return calls. :fs1:
  22. Try car-part.com Are you looking for an XJ axle (smaller Jeep SUV with a dana 30 front)? Or an SJ axle (big Jeep SUV with a Dana 44 front)? I've done quite a bit of research (and looking at them in various countries) on export XJ/MJ's to everywhere and never saw anything about D44 fronts. Do you have any additional info? Thanks. If I remember right, it was discussed a couple months ago and the conclusion was that some counties got them, but most didn't.
  23. How old are the cables?
  24. By the way, they are running a 3.07 Dana 35 out back (at the salt flats at least, don't know if they ever change it out).
