  1. No love on the struts. They were there, but the yard charges $43/each for them. Hell no. For not much more i can grab some internet specials brand new. Lol.
  2. The engine was still lying there. I PM'd you.
  3. Much sadness.....
  4. The MJ is gone..... They must have yanked out that whole row last night. And just that row. I tried to catch them before they crushed it, was not successful.
  5. I think I'd be figuring out why that happened in the first place. I ain't no 'lectrician but thats no bueno. Lol.
  6. lol. I thought about you when I posted this I can get back down there tomorrow, they are on "winter hours" now due to the time change and close at 5PM. Ill grab the VC and TB for you.
  7. I can grab parts off the 2.5 if anyone needs them too, just let me know if you need something (IAC, TB. alternator bracket, etc.)
  8. Not putting this in classifieds. Went junkyarding to get parts for my Focus this morning (fail....) and they had an 87, 2.5L, AX5, 2WD there. Its pretty well picked over, but the entire driveline is pulled and lying on the ground. Engine looks like a replacement due to paint pen marks all over the valve cover. I did snag the fuel pump in case someone needs it. Post up if so....but I'm not looking to profit off of it. I will forward it to anyone who really needs it (versus someone who just wants to flip it for some $$$). Cover my cost from the 'yard plus shipping. I also snapped a VIN pic so it can be added to the registry
  9. I'm going to run back down there tomorrow (I'm off tomorrow and Thursday) and grab a set of front struts off a different Focus a couple rows down. Someone already took both steering knuckles off.....they're just hanging there for the sake of a 13mm socket, which I didn't bring with me the other day. Mine are at 200K, and from the looks of them they are still the factory ones. Driverside one is getting a bit sloppy, too. These ones I'm grabbing are off a 2007, and are still all nice and shiny looking. Boots aren't torn either. Bound to be an improvement for me, at least the cheap side of me thinks LOL.
  10. Scored big at the junkyard today. OEM trans mount/"dogbone" for the focus. Cast steel. NLA from any dealership. Had to pull 3 of them before I found the right one, lol. Aftermarket replacements are aluminum, and total pieces of crap that last a year at best. Ive gone through 2 of them in the last couple years. The factory ones are BEEF. Cleaned it up and swapped it in this afternoon, total cost of $9.😆
  11. You can also use the contact switch from a later model XJ as well. Same concept. There are 6 wires coming from the switch, you only need the two for the light circuit. They are pink/red and white, IIRC.

Roll up each one and secure with wooden picks. Bake in a very hot oven for about 20 minutes, or until bacon browns up a bit. Sorry no cooked pics, we had to transport these offsite and cook them at the party. There were no leftovers..

Cube up some block cheese of your choice. I used jalapeño jack, for added zing. Then cut some bacon strips in half and lay the peppers out on them, adding a piece of cheese to each.

I made my version of jalapeño poppers for a party last night. The peppers are from my garden (for some reason, the pepper plants are exploding right now) and they were HOT. Here's a quick rundown: Cut the stems off and sit them lengthwise. Remove the seeds and ribs if you want, leaving them makes them hotter.
  16. Junkyard or someone with an older 2WD beam axle (with spindles). 92+ XJ's/MJ's used a unit bearing with a stub shaft to replace the older spindle design. You can swap one on to the inner C of an older axle, but you'll need to replace the brakes (rotor, caliper and pads) to a later model setup to match. Then you end up with mis-matched brakes on the front end..... I do have my old (87) 2WD axle still, but it's in a barn about 300 miles north of me at the moment. For what it's worth, it'd be probably just as much work to swap a whole new 2WD axle under it, IMHO.
  17. "And under the hood.....is a menagerie of complication" She's funny.
  18. I see pictures like that and am reminded of how blessed I am to have the junkyards we do up here. There's a couple of them like that, but they're way out in the boonies and I generally avoid them. I remember traipsing through them back up in PA....I don't miss them. LOL.
  19. Look up Deka AGM batteries when your need finally arises. I too was bitten by the Optima curse and swore them off. Deka (East Penn Manufacturing) is what I switched too.

We have an air fryer. Use it for two things......wings and tater tots. I did do a whole (fryer) chicken in it once, which turned out ok as well. To be honest, I enjoy wings better in the air fryer than in hot oil. And tater tots rock in them. We have an insta-pot also. Got it last year for dirt cheap on a black Friday deal.......it hasn't been out of the box yet. LOL.

    ouch...

    On the way
  22. Excluding my wife's ride (she always has a new car, but.....she pays for it, not me), I DD a 2001 Focus and/or a 2002 KJ. I'd jump in either one right now and drive either to Florida and back if I had to.
  23. If you drove I95 to/from MD to get that, you literally passed within 5 minutes of my house in southern VA. If you ever need a break or a stopover on a drive like that, just shoot me a PM. Garage door is always open and there's beers (and sodas/water/whatnot) in the fridge. My next door neighbor is an LTL driver, and the guy at the end of my street is an OTR driver......that thing would NOT have looked out of place sitting outside my house, lol. Jeff
  24. Yeah, it's the "multifunction" switch assembly. I keep looking in the junkyard for a good used one, but all of the ones I've found either don't have the fog light switch or are cosmetically damaged too much for my liking. I'll probably eventually break down and buy a new one at some point.

    ouch...

Not sure what our plans are, we should be on property by noon at the latest Friday. Shes got everything mapped out, lol. Ill text you a sitrep once we're there....I just want to sit in a chair, relax and have a beer or a fruity drink of some sort. Maybe we can meet up Friday night or Saturday
