  1. I've had a few over the years - never a problem with any of them. No experience with their rear camera display models though. Sounds like a great idea for your purpose when backing up.
  2. Actually I've had the Gentex mirror for quite awhile, but it never fit quite right on the factory wedge - the wedge isn't quite wide enough. The Gentex has map lights, auto-dim, and Homelink which is the major reason I installed it. For GPS we use the JK - it has it built-in.
  3. I haven't seen any aftermarket fender flares that look as good as the stock flares. I like the way Gojeep extended the lip out a bit and it looks good too. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoFlareExtensions.htm
  4. I have a Homelink dimming rear view mirror and the stock mirror mount is not correct for the mirror. What's an easy way to get the old mount off the windshield w/o using a hammer and chisel and busting the windshield?
  5. Man, the price of Corvettes just went through the roof on Barrett - Jackson.
  6. It's something external - most likely a bad dizzy. Stick a timing light on it and see if the light is steady on the marks.
  7. Womens Hockey: Canada 3, USA 2. Your bulls beat our bulls. They were body checking each other pretty good.
  8. That would be great if you could - thanks.
  9. It's factory. The LWB MJs could be had w. 16 gal tanks through 1990. In 1991 the 16 gal tanks went away and 18 gal tanks replaced them.
  10. Ah okay, makes sense. That ain't going to happen for me though, at least intentionally.
  11. Depends on how far forward the 16 gal tank is located. I've never seen one on a LWB..........
  12. Do some measurements and calculations and figure out your pinion angle with various lift options. It shows you how to do it on the Tom Woods web site where you stole the above pic from. All you ned is a magnetic angle finder. A good quality u-joint, like the Dana 1310 joint, can tolerate up to an 11* angle, and some guys claim to run up to 15* with no problems. I stayed SUA when I did my lift and used 2* steel wedges between the axle and springs to correct the the pinion angle.
  13. Thanks Alex - looks like I'll have to pass - it would be difficult for me and require exhaust work. It looks like those shocks are over 4" in diameter, si?.
  14. Err, I was thinking that too...........
  15. Sorry to disappoint, Don... returned them months ago. What I remember though is that I would've had to make up about an inch worth of clearance from somewhere. At the time, I really didn't want to deal with it and Monroe had their "buy four get whatever free" rebate going on. Being that these came as a package of two shocks, they wouldn't let me use the rebate on them... even though I technically bought four shocks. The story ends with me returning these and using Sensa-Tracs in their place. Still, I bet others would still like to see what it'd take to get these on a LWB. GO FOR IT!!! :wrench: I have dual exhausts back there too so the gas tank wouldn't be the only thing I'd have to deal with. I just wanted to see a pair installed on a LWB so I could see it first.......... I'm lazy that way.
  16. I honestly think it'd be possible, but you'd have to fiddle with things a bit. Like you stated before, probably bend a little more on the lip of the fuel tank to make some room, but I think you'd need to loosen the straps on the tank and shifting things forward too. I was hoping you had installed these by now Ben.
  17. Why a check valve? Seems like it could get clogged up pretty quickly? I use these on the axles and tranny. Press fit into the existing holes and straight through with a removable cap for cleaning. http://www.jeep4x4center.com/axle-breather-5352955.html
  18. Old thread: Has anyone managed to install these Monroes on a long bed in spite of the clearance issues with the fuel tank?
  19. The shims are packed at the rear of the LCAs. Thicker shims move the wheel forward; thinner shims the opposite.
  20. Must be an AMC FSM then. My 1991 FSM makes no mention of a difference in the ride height between 2WD and 4WD MJ in the model weights and dimensions table. Of course, it could be somewhere else, but this is where it should be listed. The only way they could be different heights is via stiffer springs, and the 2WD and 4WD used the same suspension parts for the base vehicles. I'd like to see a scan / image of the FSM page to stating this.
  21. Okay. You are on the right track.
  22. How many inches do you plan on lifting it?
  23. Never had those codes. How old is your O2 sensor? Check for 12V (heater voltage) on pin D (BLK/TAN Wire) of the four pin O2 connector and verify the harness hasn't fried on the exhaust. If all okay I'd think about replacing the O2. Make sure the vacuum line is connected to the MAP, and if the above doesn't help, I'd go ahead and throw on a new CPS. Disconnect the battery after each to clear the codes and see how it runs.
  24. I think you should start reading (and comprehending) some of the build threads here.
