  1. you have to carefully pry the glass away from the housing with a screwdriver or something. just go slow and the glass should start peeling away from the frame.
  2. that would be caster not camber. camber is not adjustable on our front axles unless you run an adjustable ball joint
  3. i have a fuel cell in mine. my tank was rusted under the straps and started leaking.
  4. put the cherokee pump onto the mj sender and stick it back in the tank.
  5. i've started working on an oba setup for my 87 but i'm using a stock sanden compressor not a york.
  6. 5/16" i want to say the stock bolts are 3/4" long but they may be a little shorter
  7. i agree that its not worth it. i don't know what kind of wheeling you do but if you wheel on rocks and plan to run 39's you better look for a 60 or build a 60/9
  8. if you plan on converting it to 4wd and then trail riding with it then i'd suggest spray painting it.
  9. can you cut the cat out and stick a piece of tube in there and clamp it in until you are able to replace the cat? thats what i would do
  10. when i did this on my mj i used a dremel and ground down the passenger tube in the diff so that a stock seal would fit. it was a pain and it took forever but i feel its worth it. the stock seal has a little ramp built into it to guide the axle shaft in to help keep from damaging the seal when installing the axle.
  11. for future reference the engine/tranny skid fits good on a mj. however the t-case skid doesn't fit too good at all. i haven't tried to install it yet but by just holding it up there the plate that bolts on the side of the frame is at the wrong angle for a mj. i'll try to get some pics tonight or tomorrow when i attempt to install it.
  12. the renix xj pumps i have are different than the mj pump that was in mine. the lower part of the mj pump was larger and made of a ceramic material where the xj pump was a metal tube. other than that they appeared to be the same. so the xj pump should work as long as you use the sock for the xj pump as well
  13. could also be a problem with the rear axle
  14. those don't look to be too bad for the price. i like the design of the rusty's engine /tranny skid better though as it offers more protection to the tranny pan. i generally wouldn't buy anything from rusty's but a somewhat local guy has these skids for sale NIB for a good price and trying to work a deal with him
  15. i thought so but wasn't sure if the "frames" differed enough for them to not fit properly. thanks
  16. will rusty's xj engine/tranny skid and t-case skid work on a comanche?
  17. nope the outer diameter of the 29 spline spiders where they go into the carrier is larger and they won't fit into the 27 spline carrier.
  18. i'm guessing he's talking about going from 27 spline to 29 spline. the 29 spline spider gears won't fit in the 27 spline carrier so you have to use a 29 spline carrier and steup the backlash if you plan on doing that swap
  19. the constant on my 87 is a red/brown wire
  20. i had a 92 xj with 8.25. not sure if it was original but it was there when i got it. it survived being locked with 35's for a long time and is still going as far as i know
  21. my 87 has the a/c delete bracket and pulley on it. i can take a picture of it if you need me to
  22. have you tried calling them? from what i have heard they have great customer service people
  23. there is a bracket and idler pulley that bolts up in place of the a/c compressor.
  24. its a 4 cyl cummins diesel
