Yep, this was actually posted by a member on here awhile back, Rob I believe. (Automan2164?). Pretty cool video.

Met another Comanche guy today.

And here I am, the only Comanche owner in a 500 miles radius it seems, haha. Can't remember the last one I saw, other than my buddies. -

Get to speak to the guy or just leave a card? Awesome either way. -
has anyone tried one of these?
AeroNautical replied to 86XL's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hmm, I'd heard spacers don't do enough to make a difference in performance. Is that wrong? If so, I think a spacer would compliment my bored TB nicely. -

Anyone actually use XJ shackles on an MJ?
AeroNautical replied to Incommando's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I've done this, with the same setup you have. It affects pinion angle enough for vibes, lowers about 1.5 inches, and would really benefit from a shackle relocation bracket. I ended up putting my MJ shackles back in and put a 2 inch puck in the front end, only adjustment I had to do was the track bar. The front pinion angle wasn't affected enough for vibes when I did this. -
Yep, adjusting it by either lengthening or shortening the length of the antenna itself. You'll ideally want between a 1.5 and 3 SWR reading across all channels, but it's nearly impossible to tune "ideally", so tune for the channel you use most. 19 is a common one as it's the trucker channel.

Very good idea, I had thought of direct power, but wanted the radio to shut off with the ignition. Using the cig lighter fixes that problem. Still, something IS causing this issue, I'd like to atleast find it before forgetting it, haha.

I've got an aftermarket radio, been in for a few months with no issues. Recently, it has started to cut off, then turn back on when I use my turn signals, and doesn't power on at all with the engine off. With the turn signal off and the radio on (engine running), I can turn on my headlights, fog lights, secondary fan, cab lights, blower motor, high beams and wipers on without affecting the radio, however with all of that on or off, the turn signal still makes the radio shut off. With that information, I've localized it to a power draw issue, ground issue or bleed issue. As far as I know, the turn signals and radio aren't connected directly, what are your thoughts? And why would it have happened all of a sudden? I've done no electrical work immediately before this happened. I hate asking for electrical help online, it's a pain to explain, and a bigger pain to diagnose for someone who isn't right here with me.

Whoa, whos that handsome guy? haha, this was actually an "audition" video, I did a pretty poor job with camera work and correctly installing the new socket. Stage fright? I re did the work with heat shrink and swapped the high/low wires around. I think it still gives a good enough explanation on how to do it yourself, though.

Engine cranks but won't start
AeroNautical replied to tylergrant2011's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Fuel ballast resistor? Located on the inner drivers side fender next to the air box, with 2 wires coming out of it. Made of ceramic. Try disconnecting those wires and jumping them together. However, the engine not even cranking after the first start up is weird... -
Found this gem...
AeroNautical replied to dunnc1991's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Wow, that things a piece.. Who knows, with the different axle gearing and the different tread depths of those tires, 4wd may actually work just fine. -
It actually makes the JK look.. good, especially the 2 door, like an old toyota land cruiser. How much do these go for?

Manual v.s. auto your guys opinions
AeroNautical replied to Jacob Ochs's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Happened to me once, but if you have a good starter and a fully charged battery, you can drive without the clutch, even from a stop. -
Manual v.s. auto your guys opinions
AeroNautical replied to Jacob Ochs's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
On road city and traffic? Auto. Offroad and country roads? manual. So much more control for precise movement off road with a manual, but damn it is it annoying with stop and go traffic, haha. -
Hard to shift when stopped
AeroNautical replied to Jaxso32's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The colder it is, the harder it will be, is my experience. First thing in the morning is a pain, but once the fluid warms up it's like butter. Is it always hard to shift in to first and second? -
To have my drive shaft shortened, I supplied the u joints and yoke, with a balance, cleaning and paint cost me $60. Sounds like I got a steal.
-
The angle's almost perfect when it's on the ground, no vibes. Plus it's still got the slip yoke, not a SYE, so the axle side angle needs to be the same as the t-case angle, which it is for the most part.

Did an AAL today:

What kind of roof bar did you use? I'm looking for something like that to mount lights and tether.

damn shame to see her go, bad @$$ paint job.

Awesome, thanks for the help. Next question is how to quiet the leaf a bit. Stock they didn't make any noise, but after adding this leaf it squeaks like hell. Teflon pad, silicone grease? Leaf from lifted XJ pack: The pack with the new leaf:
