  1. I went to the food store today, was there for 5 minutes. When I came out there was a cop writing a parking ticket. I went up to him and said, "Come on, buddy, how about giving a guy a break?" He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. So I called him a pencil necked cop. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for worn tires! So I then asked him if his psychiatrist makes him lie face down on the couch for being so ugly. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket! This went on until he had placed 5 tickets on the windshield... the more I insulted him, the more tickets he wrote. I didn't care. My truck was parked around the corner. This has Jim written all over it... hahaha
  2. Cool, lucky for me onlyinajeep726 and I just swapped a HO in, thanks
  3. Really? 12HP? That's an awesome improvement, think it would be something similar on a 4.0 with cold air, high flow header and exhaust? I can get one out of a JY for $10, would all my vac lines, power steering pump and fuel rail bolt right up?
  4. I see the horseshoe intake manifold, did you notice any improvement when you installed it? Only wish my engine bay looked that good, but it'd just get dirty again the next time I went wheelin...
  5. A sun roof? Did they come from the factory like that? That's not the first i've seen.
  6. Looks like a modified electronic speedo. If you have an 89, you still have the mechanical.
  7. The newer transfer cases had a closed system, in which you could remove the rear driveshaft and not have it leak, letting you putt around front wheel drive if you wanted. I believe the splinage on the newer cases increased as well, you'll need a new slip yoke.
  8. Yeah, wouldn't risk it. Taker her off, take it to a driveline shop and have a new one made. Retubing a driveshaft is fairly cheap, under $100 around here.
  9. The more versatile and agile variant: http://www.military.com/equipment/ah-64-apache-longbow Together, ground forces can waltz into engagements without fear. An impressive military force, we have.
  10. Awesome! Couple things, it's advertised as an 88, but you say 89, and as Kickinmule said, it's a 4.0 inline 6, not a v. Lotta pet peves about that on these forums, haha. Your not too far from me either, ever need a wheelin buddy...
  11. Never did like the "factory" camo, always liked freehand better!
  12. You need to keep the long shaft speedo gear for a 231. When I put my 99 231 in, I took the e speedo out and swapped in the speedo from my Peugeot tranny, worked like a charm. Speedo gears go for about $20 on ebay, just make sure you get the correct tooth count. https://www.quadratec.com/jeep_knowledgebase/article-46.htm
  13. Finally got to see her in person, pictures don't do her justice!
  14. I thought with the first one the train was backing up to give the MJ the right of way, woulda made it pretty funny!
  15. Lotta Wranglers in those pictures, give em some diversity Alexia!
  16. The most central location on your vehicle, above everything. On our trucks, for example, mounting it central on a grounded tool box, is perfect.
  17. I was told it was an exact mirror of what was in the MJ. The pump works, but the entire assembly is different.
  18. Me an onlyinajeep726 just did an engine swap on the old girl. Swapped to HO and adapted to a renix system. It just occurred to me I don't have any photos of the finished product, I'll have to take one tomorrow. The old block saying goodbye to her prior owner: The fleet:
  19. I'm pretty sure all year Dana 30 and 35 ring and pinion gears work with eachother (for their respective axle), on jeep variants atleast. That's a pretty awesome deal, keep an eye out for chipped teeth, 4.88 is getting into dangerous territory for both of those axles. Not to mention you'll probably break your 35 axle shafts constantly, especially when locking it. Just a heads up. Never understood why people built 35s... EDIT: they work if they are the same pinion, high or low.
  20. They are extremely similar. I worded that poorly, i know they are similar, but I was referring to the fuel and intake system. Atleast on these earlier 2.5s. Cool, didn't know that either. Learning alot today!
  21. Clean her up, throw a new head and header on and call it good for another 500,000 kms.
  22. Yeah, that F1-Z thing looks exactly like what I found, guess the PO was one of the gullible ones. Any reason amc had this kind of fuel injection when they already had an engine that had multi port fuel injection produced at the same time? Also found a coolant line running through the intake manifold. I always thought the 2.5s were a 4.0 with 2 cylinders knocked off, but there are very few similarities apparently.
  23. I was poking around my buddies 89 2.5 MJ today, looking for the source of some oil leaks, and noticed fuel lines coming out of his throttle body. And no fuel injectors. But he does have a TPS and IAC, which means it's a computer controlled fuel delivery. It also has a turbine inside of his ducting to the air box. I have never seen this before, my guess is the turbine circulates the air into a vortex, and the fuel is injected directly into the TB air mixture. Literally a computer controlled carb. Is this stock? I've never seen anything like it, but it's pretty bad @$$!
  24. You have to use an external service to host pictures, like photobucket or imgur. Make an account through one of those, upload your photos to the service, and it will give you a bunch of links under the photo to "link to message boards" or something like that. Copy that link and post it into your topic. Edit: Eagle beat me to it
