  2. :D, and what is disapaired :rotf:
  3. Why? And what is a comanche group 2 rally truck :dunno:
  4. Good stuff..... :rotfl2:. Sooooooo he got stuck in the sand :dunno:
  5. Your son depending on age, took a nice young lady a little toooooo far out to that special place and found himself in a place to sticky to get out in 2wd.....and being close to curfew snapped into super jeep mode to save the day....only for dad to have equiped him with a snapfu drivetrain. Sorry dad, fess up, and if your son is as interested in mechanics, and smarter than you somehow :nuts:will roll his eyes and have learned something as well.
  6. I have the movie on Blu-ray, and it is one of my top movies, next to Shooter of course. As a soon to be dad there is not limit to what I would do to find my kid. All around eye opening and great movie.
  7. damn how does this sagga end
  8. Be smart with it, but I built one of these for my garage, and it puts out more than enough heat. You can get it just as hot as you want and it is economical. I live out in the sticks and firewood is plentiful, maybe it wouldn't work for you but is an idea. Also check your fire codes, and insurance if you are not the most responsible of people  . Just an idea. http://www.vogelzang.com/browse.cfm/double-barrel-kit/4,6.html
  9. Most parts are interchangeable. Engines vary from the earlier renix to the newer stuff, and the doors are different from 97 or 98 and up. FYI the doors are a great upgrade, but the door latch and bolt are slightly different. Also to get your mind rolling, the 98 and newer front ends give the old MJ a newer look. Like I said before, get yourself a good solid MJ and build it your liking. There was just a good post on here tonight about prices for the 6cyl 4.0, and being able to pick one up for under $500 and swapping into a 2.5 or 2.8(v6) comanche. My MJ has a chevy 350, but that is a whole new can of worms.
  10. Don't pass up on a 2wd as it is on the newb (with basic mechanical knowledge) side of easy to swap into a 4wd. I would find what you can in your price range, and go from there. By the end you will have removed, installed, tightend, or replaced just about every bolt anyway. Plus what you learned along the way never hurts. :smart:
  11. Not to beat the hot wheels bandwagon but :ack: ( awesome banner for a garage). Plus I noticed your garage has walls and a floor  . I really haven't seen either of the aforementioned things for while, except where the manche sleeps . But alas spring is on its way  .
  12. If you want to meet everyone you better get busy. Last I checked there were 3235 members on this site . I love my jeeps especially my truck, but it may need to hide in about 7-8 months as we are now expecting twins and this is the only jeep we own with 2 doors :ack: . Also by your name you are either 21 or looking for an 89 MJ, either way congratulations and welcome to the club  .
  13. Did you ever upgrade your radiator? what are you using?
  14. This will get more power out of my stock pump? And the downfall is over responsive steering, shortened life? What does a hydro assist system run price wise? How does it set up?
  15. I agree death wobble should not be used as a term in any paragraph that doesn't end with ...."I then had to change my shorts"
  16. If you know of any guys that paint vehicles I would go that route. I have painted a few vehicles, but experience does help out quite a bit. A case of beer and a some ppg paint and I let him paint my last car. He was an older muscle car guy, and had been doing this type of stuff all his life. Painting your CJ first will help work the kinks out of your paint system. Oh yeah and don't paint when it is raining outside/high humidity, and don't run any type of diesel/kerosene forced air type of heater while painting. It is more rewarding doing it yourself, so good luck.
  17. I have searched alittle on here, but always end up overwhelmed. What is the best setup to get extra steering power? I was stuck in some slushy deep snow the other day, and to add to the frustration of being stuck, I couldn't even turn the wheel :fs1: . Is there any entry level or moderately priced options out there? :help:
  18. What can I say, I like red
  19. Not much help there. I only ran the jeep that way a few months then sold it. The jeep really didn't really puke out much oil before I changed out the original airbox though :dunno:. Once again the vent tube got broke, and I had that filter laying around from an R/C car so I figured what the heck. Looks good :brows: Sorry to :hijack:
  20. I got one like that at O'Reillys. It has different adapters to make it work with what ever hoses you have. With spectre on the market now the whole setup with filter is like $20. I wouldn't go as far as saying it is a cold air intake but, my factory air box was cracked anyway.
  21. Yeah not a liberty. The fog lights are more offset on the liberty.
  22. The only reason I would consider it, is that it would allow alittle better mileage and still have the ability to throw on a 2-3" lift and have the best of both. I am familiar with diesels, mainly mercedes but I know the added work they entail. And when you mention running out of gas in the boonies.........several years ago I took a road trip in my little 82 mercedes 240D that has about a 5-600 mile range on a tank of diesel, and found myself somewhere in south dakota at one in the morning and not finding a station with diesel or a card machine to save my life. I ended up just sleeping in the car, starting fresh in the morning. The car now has 275,000 miles and the only thing I have replaced is the injectors. It runs like it did when my dad bought it with 50,000 miles, and outside of having the get up and go of a 4cyl with 3.07 ratio and 35" tires I think it would go another 100,000.....or throw a rod through the side tomorrow  . The kick in the side is that, the guy with the liberty will probably think he needs money on top of my trade :fs1: . I appreciate all the response, and I agree so far with your answers.
  23. I have a 2000 grand cherokee 4.7 Limited fully loaded. I have added aftermarket halo lights, fog lights, tail lights in dash pioneer flip up dvd/nav. kick @$$ subs, new grabber at2 tires, that I have owned from 20,000 miles now having 118,000 miles for a stock 05 liberty sport with the the VM Italian turbo diesel and 78,000 miles? I know the history of my GC and know nothing really about the liberty. There is nothing fancy about the liberty outside of the good mechanically sounding diesel. So my question is...would you trade a plush loaded GC for a no frills cloth seat liberty for the diesel and potential of 30+ mpg? The liberty is in good mechanical condition from what I can tell.
  24. The ABS in my wifes 08 libby works great. It spoils you once you learn its habits. I have no complaints with it or my 00 grand cherokee for that matter. The new stability program is great for my wife but I have dubbed her libby the "fun hater". It has corrected my attempts to over drive it faster than my reactions would have been able to normally, and I consider myself a pretty good driver. On the snow and ice if you try to take a sharp corner on purpose to fast it kicks in and in a split second you are right back on track. My MJ is the only thing without ABS and I wouldnt put my wife behind the wheel for the world(more than just the ABS), and she is a decent driver, but most people panic and try to put the brake pedal through the floor, and if the tire is skidding you have no control. The ABS in the 3 bonnevilles I have had all sucked however, as well as the traction control :headpop: .
  25. Pulled my father in laws chevy pickup out of a snow drift a month ago. Sorry no pics.
