  3. Its different when you have a trussed axle, lockers, gears, etc. If you neglect those you just dumped some money down the drain.

    CJ-10 pickup:

Nissan SD33, not all are diesel. The truck was the CJ-10 The tug was the CJ-10a The DJ was the ubiquitous mail jeep based on the CJ5.

    CJ-10 pickup:

Ya I think I'm going to have to add a "one of these days" projects to the list for a tug converted to pickup with a CJ-7 grill. (gotta get one with a diesel of course).

Nice looking truck, would like to see one with a CJ-7 grill and fenders
  9. I consider it to be an American tradition to produce alcohol illegally and untaxed. :USAflag: :USAflag: :USAflag:
  10. So I decided to make some moonshine: I got an apple and sugar mash going back around new years, after about 6 weeks of fermentation, trying to raise the temps, re-pitching yeast, I called it good at 15% and ran some through the still tonight. Delicous! I need a different hydrometer before I can tell ya the proof, but it feels like about 50-60% alcohol. Light fruity taste, not sweet, and very smooth, just kinda feels warm going down.
  11. Man those are tiny tires.

I've got a full version of SW 2010 right now. Problem is I'm in the middle of a hard drive failure, I have the new drive up and running with my OSX partition, but my windows partition has apparently suffered a failure and I can't get it to load/or copy to the new drive. Glad I got the new drive up and my precious data copied over, but windows is still aggravating me. Might see about updating from XP to 7 now. YARG! I get the feeling I'm going to be reinstalling windows yet again.
  13. In your shoes I would use some round bar thats the correct size and then use a thread die on the end of that.

Ya pretty much just worked with ProE/Gambit and Fluent, I didn't like working with Gambit much, thought Fluent was a little more friendly. Right now my current project is learning solidworks, I know ProE in and out, and many things are similar, but I still need to run through all the solidworks material I can do bring up that same proficiency level.

Ya thats what I was thinking. Fluent, Gambit, ProE.......all part of that essential toolbox. Do you do any of the modeling or just specialize in running the CFD?
  16. Man I was thinking the exact same thing.

That sounds like an awesome project! I take it the CRD engine (trans?), wiring, and PCM is out of a Liberty? Now, did you have to get a diesel XJ wiring harness for this? In my research, I saw that many of the connectors that mate the underhood engine harness to the interior dash harness had a lot of different configurations depending on which XJ you had - diesel or gas. No, I am just using the CRD engine harness/computer and tying those into the XJ engine bay harness, the XJ engine harness gets removed from the XJ engine bay harness. All functions for the CRD engine go through 3 plugs which makes the CRD efi fairly standalone. The XJ power distribution box stays and things get spliced into the old XJ engine harness points with some new plugs. Should be pretty clean when I get around to it.

I'm the same way with my CRD MJ project, mating a CRD engine harness to XJ harness. Sounds like he does something with computational fluid dynamics.
