  1. Ah, too many fake "certified" checks out there. To me they are just about as trustworthy as a personal check. If you want to pay with either, before I give you the title and vehicle we goto your bank and I cash them immediately. So you might as well just bring cash.
  2. Not many people buy/sell cars using a credit card. Nonsense. Last Jeep I bought was using an offer my credit card company had given me. 12 month 0% APR on a cash advance AND they waived the fee. A free loan, courtesy of my credit card. Also earned $30 in cash-back bonus points just for paying it off. Ya well I don't take credit cards. Just cash, and even if I used a card to buy a vehicle, I would transmit the currency in the form of cash to the seller.

  4. No thread is complete without being hijacked.
  5. I already looked at the auction listing for monday....didn't see any XJs and just a while bunch of WJs. I'm not really in the mood for another WJ right now. Thats a bunch of different hard alcohol that I produce down in my basement. Rums, gins, etc etc.
  6. It will be good to see another diesel MJ project on the site.
  7. WJ, hopefully the XJ is soon to follow. Sold the WJ to a chinese guy who apparently can't drive......uh wut?
  8. oh god, stickers....
  9. No, I get that. But demand for a front hitch has got to be exponentially less than demand for a rear hitch, wouldn't you think? Ya and something like 2 million more XJs have been built compared to our MJs.
  10. took the for sale pictures today:
  11. $#!&, I need to change the oil in my XJ....been about 12k miles...... :ack:
  12. Looking forward to that pic.
  13. Unfortunately I know that all too well.
  14. Got the interior cleaned up and back together, exterior back together, need to detail the exterior still, got my title today and temp plate, gonna grab an emissions test this week and then its up for sale this weekend.
  15. ........or we die trying!
  16. Yes....at every yellow light.
  17. yup. just a little bit of html. i get emails from people asking me how I did it all the time. lolz
  18. Computer + internet.
  19. almost always yes, and yes, always dirt.
  20. My garage.
  21. The drip rail can be replaced pretty easy, so IMO it would make more sense to just replace it and shoot it than to bondo and shoot it. I use base/clear when I paint vehicles, usually use diamont base and limco clear. I cannot find good used tires for 20-30 each. nearly impossible to find a set of 4 tires with decent tread on them for less than $200, plus then mount/balance fees.
  22. Man its about time I caught a break, I only did two jeeps between thanksgiving '10 and july 4 of last year, didn't make more than $1600 between the two and it took me forever to do them. I've now finally caught a couple of breaks and I'm starting to recover. Plus, I lost nearly 3 weeks just waiting for delivery on this one, I could have had the vehicle done and possibly sold in that sort of timeframe.
  23. Got the inner fender pulled...enough that its better, it aint perfect but fuggit, the Jeep has 190k miles on it. Got the new PS pump on along with a new serpentine belt and thermostat, new E-fan on and even a mechanical fan shroud! All bolted down and good to go, now I only need to testfit and adjust the header, then shoot a little paint on it and the "repair" is done. Still need to do my outside detailing, and the rather arduous task of getting the interior cleaned up, I think I'm going to have about twice the time detailing the inside as I do in getting the outside done. Drove it around in the culdesac a little bit today and it feels fine, still need a battery for it though. Does have really good tires which really ought to help it sell, tires sure do suck to have to deal with on a flip vehicle.
  24. Not in my XJ at least, those are very attainable numbers for me on the highway.
