  1. 180sx uses a smaller engine and is found in the JDM and Euro markets. you will only find a 240sx here in the US Are you looking for an S13 or s14?
  2. Looks like the big guy is confused by all the drama. :D Somewhat.....he wasn't much scared by all the noise, which can be bad when the sparks start to fly his way!
  3. Hoarders keep everything, I only keep good stuff, and try to sell the rest.
  4. Lol thanks, I'm still contemplating what to do for revenge. If it were closer to xmas I would advertise for free christmas tree dropoff at his house.
  5. So long story short, this is my parts CRD that has been in my backyard for like 3 years now, you could see the top of it over my fence but I kept a car cover on it(all you could see was some grey over the fence line), been that way for years and none of my neighbors had issue with it. Couple of weeks ago an old guy who doesn't even live next to me or on the same street came up to me and harassed me about "all these cars" and "been going on for years." Anyways the end result was that I got a letter from the city saying my "make unknown wrecked blue SUV" needed to be screened from public view followed by "FABRIC CAR COVERS ARE NOT SUFFICIENT" After considering a couple of options(none of which seemed fair to my actual nieghbors and not the d!ck I wanted revenge on, I decided the simplest thing was to remove the roof making the vehicle lower, so it could not been seen over my fence. So I took the doors off(only good for parts), chopped off the one good 1/4 panel, and the sliced off the upper roof and viola! Topless KJ.....I really wanna mad max it around now though!
  6. Got a shell for the MJ, its a brahma which means its kinda cheap, maybe in the future if I find a nice leer that I like I will upgrade, but for now this is fine by me. The holy grail of MJ 97+ door panels: Scored a set of seats from a 2 door......the seats themselves are pretty much junk, but they have the tilt mechanisms which can be installed into just about every other jeep seat(could install them in heated leather seats for example).
  7. I was curious about what prices in your neck of the woods are, so I found a few things on craigslist to compare to: $3500, 99WJ, 200k miles http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2838479257.html 99 XJ, 170k, $5500: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2830032611.html 160k $3500: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2797343356.html 98, 150k $3800: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2805439982.html 134k 00, $4300: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2868122359.html So prices are comparable if not a little higher than there. Plus mine doesn't have rust....I mean ZERO rust.
  8. $4000 or so for this one would be a fair price(if not a bit more).
  9. Sorry I do not. I've been hoarding these 97+ parts for awhile, generally when I find good fenders or header panels at the junkyard I pull them. It doesn't happen often, so when you do find them its important to grab them. Ya take what you can get I suppose, but its nice that this one is low mileage, after the outside is fixed and I detail the inside its gonna be a pretty clean XJ. The control arm is not bent but the LCA mount is, I've had really good luck repairing those mounts but between that, the steering, being messed up, and the knuckle I might just toss in a different axle. Unfortunetly this one is not going to be as easy as I hoped, the passenger side fender support took a pretty good hit so I will need to replace that, not a huge deal as I have done it before about 3000 times, but its still a little bit more trouble. The hood also got a little damage, so I'm not sure if I should try and deal with it or give up on the hood and respray it.
  10. what head lights are you talking about?
  11. It's possible the control arms are bent, that certainly happens plenty off, but I have a metric butt ton of those sittings around, so thats no biggy, the lower control arm bracket looks straight, so I'm not too worried about that being an issue either. I'll just toss on a new knuckle and arms if need be, I really doubt I need to get whole new front axle. The body repair is trivial, honestly its going to take more time to clean this thing up inside than to replace the body parts, I already have new red body parts ready to go in, its going to take about a half hour to strip down the old parts, a half hour to adjust the fender "L" bracket, and maybe about 45 mins to install and properly align the new parts. Total time for cosmetic repair, less than 2 hours. Plus I already have all the new body parts in red ready to go: I don't know the story behind the wheels, but I've done this enough that I know the story behind the wheels. Someone put on some new tires, they spent somewhere between 600-800 in new tires, maybe they even had some nice stock alloy wheels. A month or two or three after the new tires were put on the vehicle got wrecked. The insurance company said "we will give you $4500 for the vehicle" the owner went, well I just spent $700 on new tires, I want $5000. the insurance company said "no way, but you can take your tires and wheels off as long as you replace them" So the guy found some wheels on craigslist with tires, maybe paid $100 for them, went down to the yard, took his nice tires and wheels off, and then put on these old crappy ones. I see it all the time, lifted TJs with bald little 215/70/15s on the crappyest even mismatched wheels. A nice limited cherokee missing the original factory alloys......etc etc, same thing happens with stereos too. All that being said, I have a set of eccos that I am going to refinish and find some decent used 15" tires for and put them on this thing to sell it. I already have what I consider to be a nicer XJ than this, I would rather cash it out and make a little money on it.
  12. 99 119k $1800:
  13. It would help somewhat, its on my list for tomorrow, need to finish getting the wheels clean, those suckers have some stuck on crap! No way am I going to spend $100 on stickers, i would be better off trying to get the last of them off.
  14. Went online tonight:
  15. I have no idea what you are wanting to do with the brake booster. But I will add that the 96+ dual diaphragm booster is a direct swap in and is a very popular upgrade.

    2001 XJ Question

Thanks - I expect to bring the "new" XJ home Thursday or Friday. Then I'll see what I can figure out. Yes, I would prefer to keep it Jeep, but if I can go aftermarket for $30 compared to spending a hundred to be purist ... in today's economy practicality is going to have to win. If this were a NEW XJ, then I'd be more concerned with keeping it all Jeep. this is the benefit to doing it my way...I want to have some programmed for mine anyways, so I can just pull the overhead console and swap the RKE out once the dealership has programmed a couple for mine, then have them program two for yours. Let combine resources on this, I can get several RKE boards and remotes sent your way and we have a bunch done at once.

    2001 XJ Question

97 and older have the RKE unit between the visors, 98+ moved the receiver to the overhead light, which also changed styles in 98. if you remove the light and the wiring and board is there then it just needs a new remote programmed.
  18. The 97s and 98s are two tone, agate(dark grey) upper and "mountain mist" light grey lower. the light grey color just looks crappy to me. like its kinda dirty or something. 97/98 interior: 99+ agate: There was also a tan option, and the newer 99+ tan is less orange and more light sand colored, I think they even called it desert sand, though I'm still not a huge fan of it. If you want to see a really nice enterior you should see the 99+ Orvis edition XJ interior.....my god is that sexy! wait here are some pics: exterior: One of these days my prestige XJ is going to wind up with the orvis interior, door panels and all!

    2001 XJ Question

Man, I've been looking for years I have not found a matched remote and RKE unit. Last remote I found in a junkyard was in 2002 and it was the IR remote for the 93-96 XJ or 93-95 ZJ. I have not found any matched remotes to the RKE unit for years, I wish I could, I lent my mom my jeep two years ago and she lost my keys....including my only remote. One of these days I'm going to buy a lot of used remotes on ebay, you find them for like $40 for 40 of em, go down with as many 99-01 RKE boards as I can find, leave the wiring exposed, and have them program a dozen matched pairs with 2 remote each. I figure that way I get the best bang for my buck. That or I will find a cheap DRBIII and put it to good use.
  20. Given that it's already had the wiring/engine/trans stripped from it, I am hoping to find a '97+ XJ 4x4 that's been hit hard in the rear as a donor and do a complete parts/drivetrain swap. If I find a '96 like that, I'd go that route as well and keep it stock on the outside. For now, I will just get the title transfer done and sit on it as I have a couple other projects ahead of it. Eh, while a 96 would be easier to swap over everything, IMO the 99+ interior is the perfection of the XJ line. (97/98 makes me wanna puke) Plus, the 97+ conversion is what all the cool kids are doing.

    2001 XJ Question

This......very easy to install(especially if you install an overhead console at the same time), thing is, the cost to get a remote programmed to the receiver board just about makes it better to get an aftermarket.....unless you get a hookup. It just pisses me off that dealers will still charge .5 hours or 1 hour of labor for something that takes so little time, IMO it ought to be done for free as sort of a brand/customer loyalty thing. Ya I get the DRBIII is a super expensive tool and it takes a little time for someone to walk out to a vehicle and do it, but c'mon! Eagle before you jump the gun just double check and make sure it doesn't have the RKE in the overhead light, 1 minute with a phillips head screwdriver and you could know for sure.

    2001 XJ Question

Pretty sure all sports had keyless entry if they had electric locks.

    2001 XJ Question

Unless its a bare bones SE.....its got factory keyless entry. Look at the dome light, is it large about 6"x6" with two courtesy lights, one for the passenger, one for the driver? If so it has factory keyless entry, just needs a new remote programmed. If you provide a used remote to the dealer they can reprogram it to your vehicle in about 3 minutes and the will rape......er charge you .5 or 1 hours labor to do so.
  24. IMo your best bet is to sell that WJ stuff and use the funds to buy other stuff. It will be worth more as a kit to someone.
  25. CRD? Or both? 4 cyl gas, 6 cyl gas, and diesel. (as well as 545rfe, NSG370, NV231 NV242, and NV241)
