  1. canyons and ravines are essentially the same. If you already have one set then theres not much justification in getting another

  4. Sir Sam

    Real Bad day.

    :D :D :D :D
  5. i thought this wasn't possible...is there a write up somewhere? I've already done all the wiring for a pre-97 XJ console, but i'd rip it out and start over to have some of the extra functions. Sorry about the hijack. Hehehe, I see you found my writeup on Jeepin. I will have to check over the wiring once again, but in addition to the writeup I posted on Jeepin I think I have it figured out for the older cherokees. the older ZJ overhead console had dedicated inputs for things such as fuel level, temp, dimmer switch etc - as well as the CCD bus. The 96-98 ZJ BCM was only to pass the temp sensor data to the ZJ overhead console, if you were wiring in an older ZJ overhead console I'm pretty sure there is nothing you would need a newer BCM for. So basically, a 93-95 ZJ trip computer needs more wiring connected to it, but it *should* also work with a HO XJ MJ.........it might be limited to 93+ HO XJs. Right now this is all untested, which is why it has not been added to the writeup on Jeepin yet. ok folks..........lets get started on how you would do this: Look at page 4 here: http://colorado4wheel.com/allmanuals/Je ... RING_2.PDF Now download the 95 ZJ FSM here: http://colorado4wheel.com/allmanuals/Jeep/ZJ/ And look at pages 191-193, and page 351. You will see that the ZJ overhead console will need all those inputs. Basically, it looks like any HO(or post renix 2.5L) should be compatible with the 93-95ZJ overhead console, with a little bit of work to wire it in. I should also note that the caravan overhead console looks like it has the exact same trip computer, IE if you sourced a caravan console you would not need to go through all the hoopla of installing the ZJ trip computer and BCM into the caravan console. The caravan console is the same as the XJ console, minus the before mentioned rear switches.
  6. Yes it does have the CCD bus, however if you have a HO MJ then you can take the console out of a 93-95 ZJ/ZG and wire that in to be fully functional with all trip and gas mileage functions.
  7. Cut weld bondo. Really not much to it, just time and motovation.
  8. Just don't see the point. My old ones will line up fine once I shave the front corners and then I don't have to worry about the rear flares not matching the fronts. Guess its just kinda my way of being different. ;) Or you could do like this guy with the rear flares: As you can see he has 97+ flares in the front, and 96- flares in the rear that have just had the ridge shaved off. Alternatively you could take 4 97+ rear flares and splice them together to make them fit, this is what I will be doing on my 2500 flares.
  9. Cept I want all white, that screenshot is the doner xj. My mj is all white Oh, now I understand. In that case you can just peel off the plastic sticker, use a heat gun and some patience.
  10. For repainting the lower trim just use flat black trim paint.
  11. The starter bulge is near the slave cylinder.
  12. lol wiring is easy i don't much mind it either. just wishing you luck Thanks!
  13. No, just stock clutch for now. No reason to replace it if it aint broken. Plus, I would have to find a new clutch overseas.
  14. I tried to use them to move a car once, that didn't work well.
  15. Not quick enough. Got me a transfer case out of a 98 today' date=' paid $100 also got the wheel skid plate, and power seat pedistal for a grand total of $130. Not too shabby, I should told him it was out of a 94 and then it would have been $75. Lotsa junk in my garage: [img']http://colorado4wheel.com/images/1988_MJ/MJ77.jpg[/img] All bolted together: Slave mocked up: A limited lace wheel and transfer skid:
  16. Ecco concept, also where the wheels came from: I think this evolved into the new WK: ZJ concept circa 89:
  17. Along those same lines..... Who has seen the movie "Castaway"? Well at the beginning of the movie you see his Jeep Cherokee. Well he comes back years later and there it is. Yet for the release date of the movie, his jeep was the wrong year. He had a 1999+ jeep in 1996 or so. Maybe it was a 1997 that came early, but it had the 99+ flares and such off the XJ. Thats been bugging me for years, speilberg really dropped the ball on that one.
  18. Got in my indicator lights, APPS, and ECU. I only need a new injector top and some diesel before I can start this sucker up!
  19. Thats actually a 4 door cherokee.......see how the front door is short not long?
  20. $600, picked them up for a friend:

    new shoes:

No KJs are 5x4.5, just like the cherokees, in fact the limited wheels found in 2000-2001 were also found on some liberties.
  22. Sir Sam

    new shoes:

Yup, 1998 5.9 ZJs. 2000 XJ Freedoms 2000 XJ SE with aluminum wheel package(very rare on SEs) 2001 XJ 60th Anniversary Editions 2000-2002 or so TJ Saharas with 16" wheel package. And yes they are called silverstars, and I love em, its one of the reasons I love the freedom package so much: Can you tell I really like the sliverstars?
  23. Sir Sam

    new shoes:
