  1. This is the last year (1996) before they went to the Heritage bodyand rounded the body out. Ick. I've had cars, vans and trucks and save the good ol'MJ, this would be my 'go to'.

    Long beds

I share your opinion (while still partial to the long bed overall).
  3. This.
  4. I've seen several listed in that price range over the past few years. Then relisted a few times before vanishing. Of those several, few have sold for the ask and fewer still are worth it. More often than not they're flipping, or a dealership who can afford to sit on them. There are also those people who are riding the Gladiator wave hoping to hook a nostalgic Jeeper with deep pockets.
  5. Very cool! Can't deny it's one of a kind! Can you see through the graphic on the back window?

  7. I would echo Eaglescout526 that there's an expectation a Jeep will be 4WD. Personally, I wouldn't buy a Jeep that wasn't 4WD (again). Had this very conversation with @HOrnbrod whose truck you see in the banner. A beautiful 2WD. I live in New England, so 4WD is a nice thing to have. As to value? Regardless of equipment, there's an a$$ for every seat, so the value is relative to condition, region, desire and deep pockets.
  8. https://vermont.craigslist.org/pts/d/williston-dana-44-rear-axle/7190145094.html As the title says, rear Dana 44 from I believe a IH Scout II. Not certain of that. I pulled it from a Jeep Comanche project I bought that clearly had axle swaps done. Perhaps this is an original rear Dana 44 to a Metric Ton Comanche and they had done a SOA swap but I have not been able to ID this axle exactly. This is not an OEM axle to my Comanche however; not according to the VIN. Maybe you know something I don't and we can piece it together! Ring and pinion, spider and side gears all look good. Counted 43/13 teeth for a 3.31 gear ratio. WMS to WMS measures 56''. Wheel stud pattern is 5 x 5.5. Also has tapered axle tubes near the WMS. I have a sandblaster if you'd like it blasted before you weld new spring mounts or trussing for your build and swap. # 4 OH six - TOO 6 O - O seven sixxx ZEROW
  9. Relisted. They didn't accept my offer. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-Jeep-Comanche-Pioneer/143765360280?hash=item2179154e98:g:QHgAAOSwiwNfBDMF

    Long beds

It's personal preference, but I like the look of the long bed. I don't do any wheeling, but exit angle seems to be the problem (if any) with the long bed. I bought my latest MJ because it was rust free and had nearly all the other boxes checked ... (not RED) auto, AC, 4wd, unmolested. I posted a wanted ad here several months ago and I'd still entertain a trade. My shortbed, for your longbed. I had one genuine inquiry, one troll.
  11. Sadly, healthcare is a business and providers within a hospital system are contractually obligated in many ways. Even the best medical facilities are having staffing issues and many specialists are forming group practices outside hospital systems and acquiring 'privileges' to see and treat their patients when in-patient. When they leave a hospital, they are not allowed to disclose where they're going. I work for an Otolaryngologist in private practice (rare these days). He has surgical privileges in several local medical facilites. Sorry about your trouble and I share in your frustration. I was affected by transitional providers mid treatment as was my late girlfriend. It sucks. On a more positive note ... Awesome pics!

Couldn't find the other listing, so for your viewing pleasure (and hysterical laughter) You can take this one home for a little under $24,000.
  13. It's funny what ya pick out. I noticed they didn't tape off/remove the door catch before they painted it.

  15. Thank you ... I'll ask for one of those brands. The service writer's quote where I bring my vehicles is in line with what you wrote for hours as well. Quick math knowing their shop rate and the figure he gave me. I don't know what's under there (Dana 30?), but he did mention "dropping the pumpkin".
  16. Discovered a leak to the ground, curbside front, when I got home from work on Wednesday ... I wiped everything down, but couldn't find the source. Brake pedal is firm, caliper is dry, no visible breaks in lines or hoses. Didn't smell like motor oil and everywhere else is dry. I came out Thursday morning, there's a significant pool. I'm told it's the axle seal. I'm not a wrench, so off to the shop it goes. What is entailed in replacement and what can I expect for labor hours? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
