  1. I had to replace a stud I broke at Badlands torquing down the lug nuts. Got a good laugh out of my buddy when I went flying backwards. But anyways, a new stud at Advance cost me I think $1.71. Three hits with a regular claw hammer (16 oz?) knocked the old one out, and I used a lug nut to pull the new one in. No need to remove the hub. I still removed the hub afterwards, though, to take the dust shield off. I kept getting gravel stuck behind it up against the rotor.

    Gas prices

Yeah, went up 10 cents to $1.62. I got a better gas tank to put in (like new condition), and my current one started leaking at/near the top. I'm thinking the front vent line may have busted. Meaning I couldn't fill it up as I'm trying to run it dry first.
  3. I drove it to work and back home.
  4. now why would you want to do that? Because any more than a handful is a waste. :D

    Gas prices

$1.52 almost back to below $1.50 (2 weeks ago was $1.48 or so).
  6. Yeah, me three. But I tried to make the passenger side match by dropping it on the edge of one of the tubes at Badlands.
  7. That's kinda harsh man. Flying a brick down the freeway at top speed and then complaining it sucks too much gas? :( There's no way 130km/h (80 mph) is anywhere near top speed. I have no clue what the top speed of my MJ is (4.0/AW4 4x4), but I've had it to 85mph with lots of power left during an uphill pass. I'm guessing top end to be a bit over 100.

    Gas prices

Gas spiked 18 cents over Turkey Day weekend, but has steadily been moving down again since then. $1.55
  9. Bobbed the bed on a picture to see what it would look like, and have been dreaming of buying a set of 33s for it. Also came up with a plan to start painting it this winter (at least the front of it) without having a garage: -take off fender -take to basement -paint -reinstall -repeat on other side etc. Will be a little timt consuming, but I got all winter (minus 1 1/2 weeks in Canada).

    Donuts are fun

I see your flares are no longer purple. Looks good! So are you looking for a 4wd donor yet?
  11. At the Fall Crawl, Jeepcomj suggested bobbing the bed as an alternate way to get rid of most of my damage from both an accident (driver side) and the tubes at Badlands (passenger side). Played around with Gimp for a bit and decided I don't like the look:
  12. DOH! Sleep deprivation will do that to you. All better now, after I slept a 13 hour night. Should have gone in to work this morning for a few hours, but decided to, well, screw it. I would have been the only one there as everyone else is hunting.

    Donuts are fun

So who's going to loan me a video camera? Or drive up (down?) here to ride shotgun?

    Donuts are fun

Donuts are fun! 4wd donuts are a lot more fun! And despite not having a locking rear axle, the Jeep is as good at it as the Suburban.
  15. If you're working on your TJ (automatic?), 4lo and transmission in P. But I guess the 2x4 is working for you now.
  16. Oops. I didn't read his signature and didn't realize he had a 4wd. I guess he'd have to try a 700R4 out of a 4wd truck or suv.

Why did they have a Range Rover advertisement before a Jeep segment?
  18. The K5 Jimmy was released in 1970 and lasted until 1992. Actually, it lived on until 1999 as the 2 door Yukon. The S-15 (T-15) Jimmy was released in 1983 and lasted through 2005. So from 1983 through 1992 it could be either size unless specified.
  19. Try a 200R4 out of an 80s Caprice/98/Delta 88. 700R4 may be easier to find but might be too big to fit in the tunnel.
  20. Page 75 of my 87 4X4 listed curb weight for base vehicle: Long box 3129.9 pounds, Short box 3072.3 pounds.
  21. You'd have to shorten the frame behind the rear wheels. The short beds are shorter both in front and behind the rear wheel.
  22. Chevy Blazer and GMC Jimmy are generally the same vehicle. GMC usually have a nicer interior and more comfort options. There's also a rumor that GMC vehicles are only made Tue through Thu. Anything done one Monday or Friday will be Chevy only, But are you talking about the full size (K5) or compact (S10/S15) version?
  23. In that case, take your rear wheels to a tire shop (even Wally World, although after my nightmare I will never again allow them near my vehicle) and have them rebalanced. One of them is most likely out of balance. Then again, depending on how long it's been out of balance, it might be out of round now.
  24. Or run a jumper wire across the resistor?
  25. It already has been. Jeep is owned by Chrysler, and Chrysler in turn has been owned by Daimler-Benz, while they owned Jeep. Daimler-Benz is German and therefore overseas.
