possibly. Rockyour4x4 where i ordered the shafts had more in stock so I had the new one in the next day with new bearings and seal. Wheeled it today and never had a bit of problem with it.
Yeah I'm guessing it was a manufacturer defect. cause I have a fellow club member who is very friendly with the skinny pedal and runs stock shafts in his 8.8 and never has once had anything go wrong.
I used superior's kit. I had just turned onto a road that was a steep incline and the road was wet. As i progressed up the hill the rear axle wheel hopped on me and then i heard it snap.
This post is in no way trying to be negative against superior's product.
while were talking about 8.8 axles. I upgraded to the Super 88 kit recently on my 8.8, it came with chromoly axle shafts. I broke one of these "unbreakable" axle shafts today on the street of all places. :D
Ok so I have a manual Tranny, so I should steer clear of the RK long arms right?
What about the TnT ( Treks ) longarms, do they not come with an improved crossmember?
In Tn, we have a junkyard called Pull-a-Part and they search your tool box and anything else coming out of the yard. Also have a police officer on site. I have even had to pay for a Jeep emblem before. it was like 50 cents
