well as most of you may know i am going to make my MJ into a Willys edt. this summer. and i would like to find some willys style hood ties but i am not having much luck. so does anyone on here have any idea where i might find some that could work and look sort of like the old willys style ones? alex

aww man look at that it has my missing stock 86 rollbar that was removed from mine. :cry: :x that makes me sad and mad at the same time. if i was in norway id hit that. i mean the mirrors would have to be changed over to stock towing ones but other then that it looks nice. alex

ok i lied, it wasnt easy at all to get out. the thing was crimped in there. and i couldnt find one in any of the local stores. so i took the one out of the 88 and put in inplace of the one in the 86 (just the fuse not the whole relay because it wouldnt work). well now to say it works on all fan settings but it will ONLY blow out the defrost vents. it won't change to vent vents or bi-lvl or heat or anything other then the defrost vents. anyone got any ideas here? alex

well i can't decide between the two bars. i love havin things stock, but the custom looks cooler i think. idk... :? well anyways it has to have one so its not so plan in the bed. but i don't think the bar option is going to win. :( alex

silver or red don't matter but it has to have a rollbar so its not so blah in the back. alex

ok as for your "prindle" problem you just have to get to it and it will be "broken". what you can do is get a new one (maybe 20 bucks most) or super glue that one back on in the right place. i have this happen all the time with my 84 K-10. alex

...unless your lucky like me and have a selc-trac system. :D but correct me if I'm wrong, it wasnt an option in the later years for the MJs or was it? I'm not too sure on that. but my 86 has selc-trac and i have driven it on dry pavement (bcuz i didnt notice it was on :oops: ) and had no problems at all. alex

it wouldnt look right if he had made a stock mj rollbar. the bed would still look too empty since it would angle down right away. alex

xacto that would really help. y didnt i think of that.:oops: now you could make it out better from a distance. the color almost needs to be less intense. but i would leave the taillight and turn signal brighter like they were. but the fadded red makes it look old just like the real ones. what do you think pete? alex

ok cool. yea thats the down side to useing jpegs they may be smaller in file size but you get a low resolution. alex

pete, also with the color red it looks good but is sort of hard to make out from a distance because it just blends averything together xpecially with the lines of the truck being black they will be hard to make out. but other then the color i think it looks good. really like the tires too. alex

if i was you i wouldnt use red. i would use blue or grey or maybe even tan. this way the taillights would stick out a tad better. maybe put some simple flames up the nose or make em look sort of muddy. idk just a few ideas. if ya want any help let me know since this is sort of what my major is. alex

well i took it out from under the dash and its even easier then that guide link. there is no soldering! they just pull out and plug in to these brackets. ill get some pics up. right now I'm off to the local radioshack for a fuse. thanks alot jeff for that link. alex

also with the 4wd check the vac hoses. my 86 did this then just quit shiftin into 4wd. so i looked under it and found that my vac hoses were off. so make sure they are on there tight. but also it does sound like low fluid. alex

well ill give it a shot. and just to my luck i have one of the "cold heat" irons. ill let ya know if it worked. if not then i guess i have some parts huntin to do... or just swap the one out of my 88. alex

well when i got my hands on my 86 i found a few things wrong with it. :roll: one of them is that my fan switch only works on high. and that my C/C does not kick on. i was told they are relays but i wanted to see what everyone here thinks. also the switch in the door jam to turn the lights on in my driver side door quit workin the other day. so now when i open my drivers door the lights don't come on. the passenger side still works. so i was just wondering how i got to the wires for that switch? thx alot. alex
