  1. i still love how this went from pioneer decals to debating the existence of an 88 eliminator, or any eliminator before 90 for that matter. Alex
  2. first year for the eliminator was in 88, only as 2wd though. then in 90 they were offered as 4x4 also. this i know, i had an 88 eliminator 2wd and i now have a 91 eliminator 4wd. if i still had the vin for the 88 i would show you. but all i have left from that is pics. but Brett M is who i sold it to. he doesnt get on much anymore but it is the truck that he is turning into his street mj. here is robs page on comanche history: http://www.comanchemj.1hwy.com/photo6.html about halfway down you see a pic of a black elim and this title: 1988: Fine tuning and the Eliminator. my parts list page from the dealership i use to work at also states 88 as the first year for them, since it lists decals for the eliminator for 88. and i wouldnt go off of jps info since we have proven stuff in there to be wrong, and they said they got all the info from cdx, what do they know. Alex
  3. it should say on the title what package it is. like my 91 says "ELIM" my 86 said "X" and my 88 said "ELIM". Alex
  4. here is what he is talking about. Image Not Found and they are listed in my comanche parts list that i have. it says/shows that pioneers only had those side stripes and the tailgate "J e e p" decal. Alex
  5. there is a factory one in on one of the xjs near me iirc. i also use to have a place that had em just like factory. i will see if i can find it again. or you could do like i might do and add the headlight loops onto a bully bar. Alex
  6. so far all he has for trim packages is the eliminator ones. but he does not have the hood decals, not like anyone could get the hood pics so he could make those anyways. Alex
  7. yep, silver color. there should be like black, gray, silver, and maybe another black. but you want silver for really bad rust. it has ground aluminum in it to fill more and add more strength. Alex
  8. my 88 eliminator had one when i got it. i think it was for an older dakota. but i would bet one for an s-10, ranger, dakota, or anything like that would fit/made to fit. Alex
  9. yea that, and you better get silver for self leveling on rust. smooths right out and fills it in good. the others tend to conform to the rust unless u put it on thick. plus you want to do a few thin layers, one think one will take longer to dry and allow more dust and stuff to settle into it, which isnt that good. Alex
  10. well it would be mine if it was closer. that is for sure. then id sell the front bumper or trade it for a stock chrome one. but if it was closer it would be mine. right now I'm more into that 86 to either have as a 2nd mj or to replace my 91. or to combine them since it has the 2.8L. plus its in KY, a lot closer. Alex
  11. 91 eliminator 4x4, 3" rustys aal (i think, when i measure i don't get much more if at all above stock), grand cherokee canyon wheels, dayton timberline a/ts, longer turn stop bolts. Alex
  12. they do grow on ya, thats for sure. i didnt like em till about a year ago, and now they change em to these ugly dodge things. Alex
  13. Wooo.... AMX!! or the Javelin!! i know of a white Gremlin for sale not too far from me.... but thats a different topic. Alex
  14. i think Toyota is our best hope for right now. it would be REALLY nice if the workers had majority and then they would own jeep. maybe then it could stay American and they would actually listen to the consumers. but Toyota is the best bet since they will keep us plants open (the Willys one in Toledo that DC wanted to shut down) plus they are reliable and they listen to the people. i know nothing of this Canadian company that has bids on them or this kirk guy who i guess was the biggest Chrysler stock holder when DC bought them. Lets all hope for the best. it would be a very sad day in history is jeep shut down. Alex
  15. i have the rustys 3" lift and i think it is going to go once i get the money. this thing is stiff, and it actually sits lower then my stock 86 did. and from what i have seen, I'm not much higher then stock, i can barely fit 31s. i don't know much about rustys packs but i have always heard rusty and rough country are not that good. I'm with the bastard pack. just get 2 or 4 main mj leafs and cut the eyes off. this is what i will be doing once i get the money to get a few sets of mj leafs. Alex
  16. actually you could even use newspaper, or masking tape. this way you won't have a raised rough surface like with fibermat. and just for pinholes this is what they recommend doing. only use the fibermat for larger holes. Alex
  17. this is true if some american auto company gets it, like the rumor that gm is close to getting it. but i think if some company like toyota gets it they will keep it open and listen to the consumers because they see the profit down the road, where as an american company will see the profit they could get now by selling em out and closing them down. we will all just have to wait and see what happens and hope for the best option. Alex
  18. That thing is not a Jeep either, stupid MallHawk. That is just another Grand. I think JP mag put it best about that thing, "Is it us, or are all of Jeep's concepts and production vehicles starting to look the same? Yes, it's buildable thanks to all the in-house production parts, but, ahem, can't we get a Gladiator before another Grand/Compass/Patriot/Commander? Besides, didn't Jeep already build these and call 'em ZJs and WJs?" Jeep needs to get back in the game and quit building things that they think consumers want. I am sick of seeing all these so-called "jeeps" come out on the lots that are just cars with the jeep grille. I am also sick of how much Jeep is letting Dodge pressure them, like with the Gladiator and now they think to make the Libby cooler it should look more like the failure Dodge Nitro thing. I mean wasn't the Libby meant to "replace" the Cherokee? that didn't happen and it sort of became the females choice for a Jeep (sorry Pete and others on here with one, I'm just saying. Heck I was planning on buying one down the road). But now do they think that since they have the Compass/Patriot the Libby isn't going to sell unless they make it more "manly"? I am sorry but the Nitro is one of the worst production cars I have ever seen. And now the Libby is right up there with it. They should have just left it alone because I don't really see many chicks buying it now. I have a feeling that the Libby will not be around much longer after this little move. I am going to shut up now and go back to bed. L8R. Alex
  19. i have done this i don't know how many times. if you can get pics i can tell you exactly what all you will have to buy, how much, and then exactly what to do. Alex
  20. http://www.jeep.com/en/08liberty/index.html i don't know what to say. big change. and i got use to the looks of the older libbys and was starting to really like em. but i don't know about this. looks like yet another nitro/compass/patriot/commander cross. all jeeps are starting to look the same and be pretty much the same. this is getting old and fast. jeep needs to clean up their act and start making jeeps again. Alex
  21. looks nice, just too bad it wasn't the other way around with the digits so it would work with the green lens. on a side note, is your dash silver? i have never seen one till now and i was always wondering if this half moon that i have was factory silver or just spray painted. and nice radio, i just wish my lights/display worked or i would use mine. Alex

  24. all of the AWD/full time XJ/ZJ/WJ had solid axles, but I would just slide the vacuum collar over and lock it permanently. I think Mjeff posted up some phtos somewhere. an AWD street MJ would be kick @$$, I'm sure you can agree with me on that one. those pics would be under my 91 elim project. wasnt too hard. Alex
  25. this sounds the same as my 91 HO. so don't worry about it. but i was so use to this thing that i drove a newer s-10 for a day and the oil was around 60-70 and i was worried it would blow on me, found out thats normal for that thing though. Alex
